What do you mean by still? I think most new modern cars look awful and disgusting, they all look the same and have no artistic style. Old cars looked much better, but this Ford GT does actually look really good, because it is supposed to look like the old GT40.
This was not the car that beat Ferrari P type prototypes at Le Mans. That was the GT40 MKII in 1966, an entirely different beast. It cost Ford a huge fortune over 3 years of many failures and the life of a genius to create a car to finally topple Ferrari at Le Mans ‘66 and ‘67.
Theres also the 2016 ford gt40 that handles well and well they dont like to acknowledge corvettes previous dominance in le mans GT class for some reason.

Alright to be clear the god gt im talking about is the 2005-2007. That one is brute power. The 2017+ is a different animal meant for handling, as Le Mans favored better handling cars over top end speed cars.
I'm stunned if they really didn't know the HUGE difference between the mid 60s GT-40 and the mid 00's Ford GT. I think it was just a gaffe. This IS a sports car show, and the presenters AND producers clearly know a lot about cars, especially considering the GT-40's unbelievable exploits in the 60s at one of the biggest European racing events of all time. Also, Jeremy would've put his 2005 Ford GT on a waiting list more than likely, so I think he knows the difference.

This reminds me of 1966 Le Mans. The Ferrari were more agile, they handled better than the gt40s, by they lacked the power. The gt40s pulled away on the straights. The same is true here. The Ferrari handled better in the turns, but the sheer power of the American V8 and supercharger gave it the advantage in the straights.
This is one of those power laps that just makes me beam with pride that the working class hero just walked right up to that Ferrari and punched it in the nose and kicked it down the hill and said "This is the day your aristocracy ends"

That’s something that I love about older cars with softer suspension, they give more. The car feels alive. You can feel when it’s going to give a lot easier than a newer car with stiffer suspension that can bite your leg off at any moment and you’d never know when.
The original was also called "Ford GT" back in the '60s. You can hear them saying it in the Le Mans commentaries. And it was even written "Ford GT" on the side stripes.

Well actually the last time the Fords raced Ferrari at Le Mans in 2019 Ferrari won the GTE class that both manufacturers race in. Ford have now pulled out of sportscar racing so they will not be beating Ferrari in anything meaningful, anytime soon.
It means the car is about to get faster to the point where the car suspension is the ground on one end on the left with downforce which push the vehicle down and on the right end which it's lifting up. It's kind of like weight transfer. In other words, it's pushing more power to ground to it's limits.
Perhaps not so much fear of loosing control as just being able to make the corner flat out. The follow through isn't a corner every car can take flat out especially when you get higher up in the horsepower range.

It's not snobbery. It's just in reference to the twisty nature of the track. American cars, until recently, were notorious here in Europe for having diabolical handling in the corners. Muscle cars, Shelbys, Corvettes, Vipers, and so on. All very nice to look at and fun but crap, absolute crap on a track.
