The fact that to this today the T1's lap still hasn't been beaten is pretty incredible. Heck the Atom V8 was 5 seconds slower than the T1.
If they had allowed it's lap to remain on the board it would remove all possible tension of "will this car put in a time that would make it number 1." Then again imagine the flip side where one day a car did beat the T1's time now that would be an incredible moment.
some say the atom V8 was a bit of a show car, yes it does produce 500 HP, but the wing was a bit useless in reality
and T1 IS a race car with number plate, which is pretty much another interpretation of the Radical
@@MrSilnev yeah, the t1 is the most rapid road car to this day. Since 2007, that's quite an achievement. Would like to see what a modern ultima gtr could do. There's one with 1200bhp in the works. Would love to see that lap time next to the t1s.
I don't think people realized how mental the 3G cornering force is. Yes, todays F1 cars achieve over 6Gs, but for a road legal car on road legal tires for that time it is absolutely insane
The car can actually raise its front to go over bumps, they removed the time just because it would have never been beaten by anything road legal (it still hasn’t).

@@antcunningham1997 Because no one has tried many new cars on the track. No P1 LM, no Koenigsegg One:1, no Pagani Huayra BC or Imola, no McLaren Senna or Sabre, no cars that actually could put up a fight.

No, they're not. The project got cancelled after Caparo plc, the parent company that also owned steelworks and what have you, got put into administration and the CEO committed suicide.

What are you talking about? plenty of cars have been just as fast or faster than this. The Zonda R alone was 2 whole seconds faster.... and that car is actually resemblance towards an actual "production" car and is far easier to drive, and that car came out in 2010.

One of the best handling cars I’ve driven in a racing game, especially one like PGR4.

Does it have actively controlled airfoils?
Active aero that's automatically operated by a computer taking info from numerous sensors on the car can do amazing things. Go almost full vertical to add air braking power to save the brakes. Lay flat for reduced drag on the straights, then angle up to increase downforce as it's needed in corners. But it can also be metered at each wheel. That provides more downforce on the inside of the car than the outside, thus equalizing the grip on all four tires. But front and rear wings can also adjust to level the car under braking and accelerating. There is no reason to not have that feature on a street car except for cost.

Firm went bust in 2015. Sales flopped, a joke on the road and could have killed Jason Plato in a fire on track.
Even the Ferrari FXX Evoluzione went round the track at 1.10.7. Again, it was removed from the board because it was a track-only car and you couldn't actually own one.
Same thing goes to dbr9, which can do 1.08+

Put a fan on the back of it, make it a fan-car, problem solved. Red Bull Racing did it with the X1, so it works!
The RB X1 (X2010) is a concept. So you don't know if it works. Look at the brabham Bt46. Way better example as that car actually drove.
Straatham Actually they made a working prototype, and it did work. It had a twin turbo V6 (unknown displacement: not specified) and a closed cockpit almost fully carbon fiber design. The actual windshield was made of ultralight plastic. It cut down about 10 seconds on (2010) modern day formula cars! But thank you for doing research: it shows that some people do care.
