It’s 11pm during the coronavirus lockdown. On an ordinary day I’d be fast asleep before having to wake up early for the daily grind. But instead with this apocalyptic global event, I’m high AF learning how to make resin art. And I’m f***ing loving it. ☯️
Very pretty Edna...when I do the tops of my tri met jars....I always put a layer of white resin down and then do my design with the inks...they show up much vibrant in a white background. I love these
Thank you so much for tutorial. They are absolutely gorgeous! What is the gold line you draw to separate the white part from the ink design? It doesn't look like alcohol gold ink if there is any.
Hi Edna! Thank you for sharing this video. Incredibly helpful as I’m new to the game of alcohol ink coasters. I was wondering if there was a brand or two of resin you’d recommend for beginners. I’ve tried one and it seems no matter what I do it leaves craters and fisheyes. Pours out almost like water! Help! Thanks in advance! 🙂
Theyre so beautiful, anw what's the name for the gold liquid on 23:47? Is it have to be applied before the top coat or after? And what's the brand name for the top coat? I really want to make some as hampers for my family. Thank you for sharing edna ❤️
The molds are available on my online shop but i only have a few left in stock. shop.wargon.net/index.php?id_product=72&rewrite=1-slicone-coaster-mold-agate-geode-style&controller=product&id_lang=1

These are lovely! Using the brand of resin you do, and given your experience, how long should one wait until the coasters are resilient enough to use with a hot upon tea?
It's a great question which I get asked a lot and there is just one simple answer it really does depend on the BRAND of resin that you use and I use many different ones depending on what I have in stock and what I can order in. However my advice is, if your resin says cured in 48 hours, 2days, double it! that's to say before you put a cup of tea on it wait 4 days instead. However even this formula isn't 100-percent as again each resin company has their own components and their own recipe and you will have to do trial and error tests with each resin that you buy before you use them.
Thanks for the tutorial, after I blow dry the alcohol ink,I fill the mold with resin, and the colors of ink seems like disappeared... Why?? Did I do anything wrong?

Hi you can use a heat gun but on very low but I prefer an embossing tool as I use and if you watch some of my other videos explain more about these tools if not you could just use an air compressor or a blow dryer works just as well 🥰
I absolutely love this technique. You mentioned spraying a varnish on at the end. Could you explain that in more detail? I'm new and really want to perfect this style. Its gorgeous. Thanks!
HOLY Moses? So all you did, is made the resin molds, squirt with alcohol, followed by straight alcohol ink on them? What did you use for the gold accents? It looks metallic, not so clear like the alcohol ink? You've given me a GREAT idea for a BD gift next month, Thank YOU!
@@EdnaWargon WOWza's I had no idea we could do that! I watched another video where someone was using oil paints too? When mixing the acrylic paint into the resin, is it still same rule of thumb; don't use more than 10% of any type of pigment added to resin.

These are absolutely gorgeous! I love the flecks of floating gold in there!
Thanks Cassie 😘
I.....made a mess !! Hahaha! Beautiful work, I tried but it seems I’m better at watching these than executing them.
Oh June, perseverance is everything when it comes to creativity so just try again and I'm sure you'll manage eventually, that's half of fun 😍😍😍💓

What a great idea! I missed Monica's video on that, but will look for it. I love the softness of the alcohol inks!

Merci Irina 🥰
Beautiful !! How do they hold up when setting a hot coffee on them ?
Hi Ann, in general i advise my customers not to use resin coasters for hot mugs. They leave marks on the surface.
Fabuloso! 😍
Thank you so much for tutorial. They are absolutely gorgeous!
What is the gold line you draw to separate the white part from the ink design? It doesn't look like alcohol gold ink if there is any.
Hi thanks for your lovely comment, yes it is alcohol ink using a paintbrush.
Absolutely delightful! Where, please tell, do you get the tiny bottles with the accurate pourer and what is the gun you are using?
The airgun and the quilling bottles were from Amazon 😆😆😆
Can we use hair dryer instead of air gun
@@tahiraaamer3114 I'd say no.

Hi, i used this recipe I made in this tutorial here, all the info is in there ;) ruclips.net/video/eYGlWSSli7g/видео.html
Can you leave a link to the plain acrylic white you added to the resin? Also how long do we wait for it to harden?
You need to wait at least 24hours if you're using the same brand of resin as I am :)
At 3:20 what is this tool called that you are using to move the colors around ?
Its the usual small hairdryer i use in all my ink tutorials 😍
Hi.... It's just beautiful 😍.....Is it necessary to use isopropyl alcohol?
It acts a blending solution so yes, I would use it.
Glad I found your video! I’m pretty new in this resin art. I’d like to know if this technique works on a dark background?
Hi, I've never tried it on a dark background but I'm not sure the inks would show as well, you could always try it and see how it goes 🥰
Very nice!
What is the name of this colour or brand? Thank you
I do love this look. Do you have any suggestions of what I could use as a basecoat on plywood coasters - so the alcohol inks etc flow easily please? x
Resin 🥰
Or stick down some yupo paper..
@@EdnaWargon Thank you for both suggestions x

Aww, bless you Angela, thanks so much 💋💋💋

That’s fascinating💜 and i wanna ask if there’s another name for “pinata brass”?
Jacquard-Piñata ?
What kind of gold paint do you use of the edges of your coasters?
HI Frank, I made sure I showed it in the video, Its a gold leaf liquid.
Hi You are truly a wonderful artist. Very inspiring, What type of varnish would you put on top of the alcohol ink before you put the topcoat on? 🤍🤍
A glossy spray varnish will do the trick 🥰

where did you buy your molds?

how did you Seal them or do you just let the ink dry
Hi. I did a clear coat of resin showed in this tutorial.....
What is that big purple one???
But how did they get sparkly in the end? 😍
I used a touch of ignition dust in the clear top coat from here: just4youonlineuk.com/products/white-ignition-dust?_pos=1&_sid=1345a9b80&_ss=r.

Good idea. I believe I will wait two months before I test my trivits I made from countertop resin that says it’s fully cured in 30 days.

You need to seal it with varnish first 🙂
Do my colors maybe lift the ink because I heated the top coat resin?

Do you have any suggestions on a brand for airbrush?
Hi. No i got mine years ago from an art shop. It wasnt an expensive one and it works fine.
For this smaller project a straw will do the job or a small hairdryer
