I always love and appreciate watching tutorials where different resins/colorants are compared. Thank you 🙏 I feel as though one important factor in this technique, is a deeper mold. Thank you for the great info
Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial. I've been trying this technique over and over again and everytime the result is just like the green with more fluid resin. And maybe that's why! Bc I always used low viscosity doing this technique. ❤
Out of all the videos I've watched on this technique, not one of them have used white alcohol ink. They've used cast n craft or a paste. Thank you for going through it all, it does help.
Appreciate ur analysis.. Must say m impressed and wud want to follow as the explanation that u gav ewas so much in detail and lots to learn.. So very helpful video.. Kudis.. Keep up with it..
The key thing here to know or get to know is how the color white is the "heaviest" color and will always migrate out/inward and go to the bottom. The more pigmented, opaque, the heavier, so one can really get into the degree of an effect by the level of translucency/opacity. Also of course the viscosity of a resin/epoxy will always make a difference. Now, one of the best pieces of advise I always say to all inspiring or beginner resin artists, is to learn about the exothermic chemical reaction of epoxy & casting resin. ITS EVERYTHING! The amount of heat produced by this reaction depends on the volume & exposed surface of resins. A beginner might think a small amount of casting resin in a little mold would cure faster than a mold holding 3x more resin, however less resin means less heat and the more resin the more heat it will create. This is also the time when the resin churns about and creates swirls and starts to get that gel like consistency, and if your looking for keeping colors separated (not blending into each other) adding another color at this point will keep them from mixing. Alsi adding anything with the slightest weight, even glitters should be timed with the exothermic reaction, like if you prefer to have your glitter sinking to the bottom , or susoended throughout. Trust me and just take just an hour at least to read ab8ut it. You xan even use added heat ti accelerate the cure, like outting your mold in a toaster oven at 190^ , just don't do it till the resin gels first.
Lovely results, have you tried using a heat gun rather than the torch, i find it breaks bubbles more easily due to the air blast and doesn't endanger the silicone since there's no flame.
Sheri....YOU ARE AMAZING 🎉😅😊... please ignore the jealous voices... Keep being the awesome 😎😎😎 human that you are. Applause 👏👏👏 thx for this video xxxx I appreciate all you share with the world x
That was interesting Sheri. I didnt know you had to use the white first of all. I did like the blue ones overall though. I am just starting out with inks, so its nice to have methods, ideas and tips beforehand. Nice tutorials, very much appreciated!💕
Thanks for this one Sherry. I've struggled with this effect. first thing I seem to be doing wrong is using a 1 to 1 resin. looks like it needs to be a less viscous 1 to 2.
I used 2 different types of resin in this video. 1st pour was with Barnes resin which is medium and the 2nd pour was with make art which is very fluid resin
I've had much better luck with using a quarter of the amount of white you're using, then layering colors dark light dark, then using a bunch of clear in the middle. The clear has to push all the colors out so as the resin settles in it creates a beautiful pattern
I am so frustrated with my coasters - i have done literally dozens of coasters, and none have worked. You have given the most detailed information, so I'm gonna try again, following your instructions!
Put the colored resin in first and drip the white on top of it and let it go you can draw flowers you can do all kinds of stuff or you could put it around just the edge like she did and wait don't put the white underneath put the color first😊
Sweetie you need to put the color in first and drip the white around the edge and make loops or flowers or whatever you want to do and then let it ride even dots but the white goes in on top of the color don't put it in first just a little helpful hint😊
You never used the clear in the centers. 🤔 And you didn't say how much of each color you used in each mold. That's what I'm seeing missing from all the videos of this technique.
You can pretty much use the colors to your liking it doesn't have to be a specific measurement measurement in each but you have to make the bottom the one with the largest amount of resin😊

Thank you for doing these tests to investigate how this effect works.

Thanks so much for explaining it! Your first blue one was the nicest imo, looked like a sea, sort of. Very cool!
Thank you for sharing this interesting, hope you are doing well have a nice day 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I always appreciate your videos, and that you take the time to completely explain the process for the effect. Thank you!
Beautiful coasters, thank you for sharing the process.
Thanks for there explanation and demonstration.

Wow, Ive never felt more stupid, trying to understand your reply.
I really like your advice! I'll definitely be reading about the exothermic chemical reaction 😊
@Charley408.
Cool, thanks for that, really interesting. I’m going to look it up.🙏
They all look freaking amazing
Beautiful result. Thank you so much for such a thorough tutorial, i appreciate it x 💖
Thank you for your experimenting. Just learning about this epoxy resin endeavor. Have not started yet!

Wow there awesome 😊
Thanks for the detailed video. I always have problems with mine.

A one-to-one resin is fine it doesn't make any difference😊
Awesome thank you j
I love ❤️ uour work
This was such a phenomenal tutorial . I do have 1 question do you have to let each layer dry, before adding a new color ?
Fabulous video
Very interesting, when you say pigments, can I use the pigment powders or is it better with the pigment pastes?
How cool! did you pour inmediatly or did you wait for it to warm up? I love your videos, because you give such great explanation!
I poured straight away
Thanks for teching me.
Where did you get that specific live edge mould edge from please?
Does it matter what viscosity resin you use??
How much resi do you have in each cup? White? Colors? Clear ?
Amazing, very nice thank you ! Where can we find this mold ?
Are these washable or just wipe off?
beautiful, i have a question, is this low viscosity resin?
I used 2 different types of resin in this video. 1st pour was with Barnes resin which is medium and the 2nd pour was with make art which is very fluid resin
Did you use a thin resin or a thicker (Art resin)?

Great tip!
I thought it looked like an eye too, I decided never to try it with red instead of white or it would look bloodshot!!lol
yeah probably not the best colour combo
I always thought you couldn’t use a blow torch to alcohol inks?
When they are mixed through resin it’s fine.
I am so frustrated with my coasters - i have done literally dozens of coasters, and none have worked. You have given the most detailed information, so I'm gonna try again, following your instructions!
How did it go?

Always thought that alcohol ink was flammable and that you couldn't use a torch on it??
