I hear you man. Luigi's purple coins caused me so many game overs on the Wii. But it only cost me one life on Switch. But this is just the beginning of the suffering, just wait until you get to the trail galaxys.

Loopdeswoop galaxy wasn't all that bad honestly. But the other two can go suck fat goat nuts, they're not that bad anymore, but as a kid, they were hell. You know when you get so angry that your throat tightens and starts to burn? Yeah, that's how 9 year old me reacted to those levels, especially the electric bubble maze star, that one was literal agony to complete at first. No joke, out of both the galaxy games, only *The Perfect Run* surpassed that aforementioned star in terms of difficulty, it was that bad.
@@K3v1nlo0l 2 may have Yoshi, but by far the first game just does everything better imo. The level aesthetics, soundtrack and story are better. 2 doesn't really have a story to talk about, and Rosalina just kind of appears and then leaves.

Most of the bosses in 2 are better as well, though the last phase of the final boss is admittedly weak. The presentation does have a problem with the overuse of cloudy skyboxes but when those aren’t there 2 uses skyboxes that are more visually interesting than 1’s. And for the soundtrack I can’t really argue there other than just saying I disagree on which game has the better music, since that’s probably the most subjective category out of any of these.

I wish it could’ve gotten an actual remake to improve it though, because I feel like it didn’t reach its full potential. It could’ve fixed the glitches and the weird physics in some areas, and retooled the blue coins to let you know when they’re only accessible in certain episodes of a specific level. Also after you get past the important plot points the conditions for unlocking the final level should’ve been changed to just collecting a certain number of shines instead of having to reach the Shadow Mario shine in each level, because that makes some shines completely worthless unless you’re going for 100% completion instead of having every mission contribute to progression in some way.

The worst Mario Galaxy level for me was a Hungry Luma level where you had to fin 3 bunnies before the time ran out. There was a bunch of techniques that you needed to do, and it took me weeks before the pain ended. The worst part was, I had to do it again with Luigi to 100% the game!
For me, it was the desert's purple coins. Is not that it's hard, but rather that it's really easy to lose if that makes sense, that combined with a frustratingly long length and you got my least favorite stage in the entire Mario franchise.
