@@novustalks7525 well of course personally my favorite will forever be good egg galaxy, I just get really happy when gusty garden plays, it’s just universally good and I appreciate it for that
If Space had music, it would literally be Space Junk. It is nothing, but also peaceful. It is mysterious, but also calming. It has to be one of, if not my favorite track from Mario games... period. The way your facial expression changed immediately upon hearing just the first notes of Space Junk just had me going "yes, yes!" matched my reaction every time I listen to it again after a while perfectly, such a beautiful theme.
The Comet Observatory is actually a lot better than the video you watched. It's actually a dynamic piece, one long song broken into three segments. As you collect Power Stars (the MacGuffins), more of the Observatory turns on, and the more instruments join the waltz. By the time you've collected all the Stars, there's an entire orchestra playing the song. It's gorgeous.
Gusty Garden Galaxy is one of my favorite Mario tracks of all time. If you're wondering, you may have heard it in the trailer for Super Mario 3D All-Stars, where they used it for Mario Galaxy. It may not be the official theme for the game, but it absolutely could be.
@@dhans9662 Also Galaxy 2's Star Festival theme (it's the same as Galaxy 1's, but in a different key, and they replaced the main melody with the melody of Gusty Garden's first section). And also the Purple Comet theme and OG Gusty Garden being featured in The Perfect Run, but those are just direct reuses of Galaxy 1 tracks with zero changes other than the addition of a Yoshi drums channel in The Perfect Run.
Gusty Garden Galaxy has been one of the most popular Mario themes since 2007 because of how amazing it is. It is literally one of the best soundtracks ever created by Nintendo over the years!!!!
Battlerock Galaxy’s name isn’t about the music, as you’ve seen. It’s name is very literal. It’s… literally a massive rock in space that’s used as a space station with cannons, flying saucers, electric lines and other stuff.
Listening to this, I realize that each Mario character has an instrument that really fits to them and their personality. Rosalina: A harp. Donkey Kong: Bongos. Bowser: Electric guitar.
I loved your reactions to these selected tracks, but I wish you could have heard: Good Egg Overture Luma Enter the Galaxy Gateway Galaxy Catastrophe Airship attack King Bowser Honeyhive Sad girl Space fantasy Deep Dark Drip-drop Melty molten Wish Dawn - A new morning Birth Rosalina's Observatory 2 and 3 Freezeframe- cold and hot versions Dome Sweet Sweet Galaxy Family Purple coin Megaleg Dino-Piranha plant Mecha-bowser King Caliente Kingfin/Bouldergueist Super Mario Galaxy (end credits) Yes, I know these are too many tracks, but that is why I love Super Mario Galaxy, the game is full of bangers!
Gusty Garden is legendary. So much so that it’s melodies keep appearing in Mario games years after Galaxy, and most recently, at the end of the credits to the Mario Movie! What a rush that was
Context about each music: Star Festival: Mario basically receives a letter from Peach telling him to come to the castle, and this plays when Mario walks through the Mushroom Kingdom while everyone is celebrating Space Junk Galaxy: It’s a galaxy filled with space junk in the middle of tranquil space Bowser Jr Battle: This plays when you fight Bowser Jr on the Airship Armada Toy Time Galaxy: The Galaxy is located in a child’s bedroom. Everything is a toy or something sweet to eat. Buoy Base Galaxy: It’s a buoy shaped tower in the middle of bowl shaped pool. Battlerock Galaxy: It’s basically a factory/war facility located in a asteroid belt. It has lots of cannons and ufos. Gusty Gardens Galaxy: Like the name suggests, it’s a windy garden with flowers and all sorts of greenery Final Bowser Battle: This plays when you are two hits away from beating Bowser in the final fight. His final stand Rosalina and the Observatory 1 : The Hub World when you have enemy bases defeated.
My absolute favorite Galaxy song is Luma, it's the one that plays during Rosalina's Storybook. It's just so peaceful and a bit sad, like a lullaby you haven't heard since you were a baby. Very underappreciated track
Buoy Base is more beautiful knowing that is another variant of this theme that play when Mario dives into the water of the level. Is simply incredible how sounds the track alternating between these two variants when Mario dives and emerges from de water.
I don’t think there’s ever going to be another game music piece as good as gusty Garden Galaxy. It hurts me to know that I’ll probably never be able to own this soundtrack on vinyl. Thanks Nintendo.
The Buoy Base and the Battlerock are both quasi-military-esque facilities that Bowser has set up in space. The Battlerock Galaxy theme is shared by another level called Dreadnought Galaxy, the Dreadnought being another quasi-military-esque facility, this one much closer to the seat of power Bowser has created for himself in the game. Battlerock Galaxy and Dreadnought Galaxy feature frequent Bullet Bill and Bob-Omb launchers, and Buoy Base is the only level in the game to feature Torpedo Teds, which are an underwater equivalent to Bullet Bills.
From the first Galaxy game, I think the major ones you didn't hit were "Melty Molten Galaxy," and "Purple Comet." For Galaxy 2, I recommend: "The Starship Sails" "World 3" "Puzzle Plank Galaxy" "Bowser Jr.'s Fort" "Space Storm Galaxy" "Cloudy Court Galaxy" "Melty Monster Galaxy" "Fleet Glide Galaxy" "Slimy Spring Galaxy" "Bowser, Almighty Koopa King" "Starship Mario 3"
Gusty Garden is the classic song to spring on newcomers because it's universally agreed to be not just one of the best Mario songs, but one of the best Nintendo songs ever. I personally don't feel it's a stretch to call it one of the best video game songs of all time. Nintendo absolutely knew they'd struck gold with this one, because it did indeed continue to pop back in at sufficiently Epic(tm) Mario moments and we love it every time.
As other people have said before, you might recognize Gusty Garden Galaxy because it has been one of the most famous modern Mario themes. But also, more specifically, the main theme of Gusty Garden Galaxy plays in Cloudtop Cruise in Mario Kart 8! So if you've played Mario Kart 8, you know the main theme!
You might be interested in checking out Super Mario Galaxy 2’s soundtrack as well. That one has more “fun”, upbeat themes (different from Galaxy 1, which is more “spacey” and serene) but they also used a fuller orchestra, if I’m not mistaken. It sounds REALLY lush and enthralling on some tracks. It always takes me for a ride. Also, if you return to Mario Galaxy, PLEASE don’t forget to listen to the STAFF ROLL themes from both games. They’re grander-than-life fully orchestral medleys of the best motifs in the games and my personal favorite tracks in both soundtracks, hands-down. Awesome vid anyways! Have an awesome one and God bless your adorable, genuine excitement for music. :)
I think Koji Kondo (or Mahito Yakota, im not certain) took inspiration by Barbra Streisand - Evergreen for Gusty Garden Galaxy. It's a beautiful song and also fitting with the garden theme
If you enjoy evil intense music Kirby has you covered tenfold! Kirby and the Forgotten land in particular has a final theme that is 6 minutes long with no repeats.
Yeah, this game, the entirety of it... Concept, scenery, graphics, soundtrack, sound design, physics, camera system, game mechanisms, everything... It is probably the best thing Nintendo has ever created. It is probably the best thing the entire gaming industry has ever created!
Aaaaaaa... one of my all time fav games growing up... and still is! All the music in both galaxy games are brilliant! Hope to see more galaxy music reactions! 💖💖
The Super Mario Galaxy games have my favorite soundtracks in the series. Half the reason I'd like a Galaxy 3 is so we can get another soundtrack like the first two.
You might know Gusty Garden Galaxy from Mario Kart 8's Cloudtop Cruise, it uses the same leitmotif. But yeah a lot of RUclipsrs also use it so that's a distinct posibility too.
13:51 this theme has been used A LOT for other mario games including mario kart and mario party games (not sure about party tho) which is why i think it sounds familiar to you
Happy to see you branching off to other games! Been a while since I watched your vids, so this was a welcome surprise, considering Mario Galaxy is an all-time favourite game of mine. Would personally love to see you reacting to Kingdom Hearts music, especially the Darkness of the Unknown musical trio. Those are some of my personal favourite musical pieces in all of Kingdom Hearts! Either way, glad to see you are doing OK and have fun with reacting to all kinds of music!
Super Mario Galaxy was the first game I've ever played, and whenever I hear space junk/gusty garden galaxy i cant help but break out into tears, such a fantastically beautiful soundtrack with over a decade of nostalgia that holds the power to make a grown man cry. The game is fantastic too.
oh god i'm so happy you included Buoy Base Galaxy - never fails to give me the chills! (also, i recommend listening to Rosalina's Comet Observatory Parts 2 and 3 too, the song evolves so beautifully❤)
Accouding to your reaction, these music did their job very well. Also, Gusty Gardens is like THE most popular and known galaxy music, so it's very probable you've heard it somewhere else, maybe not even in a mario video. Also you put 3 t's in Battlerock ;)
I think you need to listen to Good Egg galaxy too, its one of the most iconic ones since its also one of the first Levels in the game, and id also recomment Gateway Galaxy
If you want to react to more Nintendo games, I'd recommend: - Xenoblade Chronicles 1/2/3 it doesn't really matter, they are all masterpieces of soundtracks. (XC3 got nominated to best soundtrack this year, so I'd recommend it) - Super Mario Odyssey, continuing with the Mario soundtracks - Zelda Majora's Mask, my fav Zelda game, has a very unique atmosphere to it - Super Smash Bros Ultimate, if you want to cover multiple series at once
This soundtrack dropped my jaw when I first played this back in 2007, with Buoy Base Galaxy being my favorite track in the game. There are others I'm sad you missed hearing here, specifically the Good Egg Galaxy, which is the game's first real level theme and immediately blew my mind.
Emily if this doesn't make you play the game let me say" PLAY THE GAME! One of THE best games out there. Video games aren't trash, it's an art form. Hope the music sways you
Fun fact: The french name of Space Junk Galaxy is "Poussière d'Étoile", which means Stardust. I just checked the Mario Wiki page and this is also how it's referred to in most of the other languages.
Oh this is absolutely WONDERFUL. Love your excitement about a few of these tracks, makes me really happy. Would you ever be interested in doing one for the second game? The music in it’s pretty different, more funky sounding I think.
Koji Kondo has arranged some of the most famous and amazing video game music in history. Mario Galaxy has the best soundtrack of any video game in my view!
I wish I found your channel earlier, you share my exact energy when it comes to music, I love it. Galaxy has one of the best OSTs out there and is also one of my favorite video games ever. Definitely give it a try.
loved your genuine excitement as each song kept getting better!! mario galaxy is absolutely known for its soundtrack. it's just so fun!! i'm positive other people have told you to react to undertale music but i'll suggest it anyway lol. its great for reactions
Man the soundtrack still gives me goosbumps every time! Best Mario game ever in every way. Now i need to replay it (have it on switch with the 3D Mario collection, still wished they also remaked the 2nd Galaxy game)
Held my breath till the end. I’m glad at least one version of the Comet Observatory/Luma was listened to! And the immediate reaction to the waltz timing! Lovely:)
13:50 actually they do, Gusty Garden Galaxys leitmotif is used in the Trailer for Super Mario Galaxy 2. You should also listen to that because it's majestic.
Ah, the comet observatory theme hits hard. It’s the same feeling of coming home after a long day, in way it is because that’s what hits you whenever you get a star in a galaxy. Tearing up rn 🥲
One thing I feel like mentioning is that there are two different versions of Buoy Base's militant level theme. You heard only the main version, but that base floats in the water, and there's a whole second version that fades in when the camera view is sumberged. I was not expecting one of the instrument choices the first time I went underwater in that level, but hoo boy was it a wonderful choice nonetheless!
This was my game back in elementary school. I would always beat this game in like 5 days and play it again and still be as amazed as the first time I played it, the music definitely helps.
I’ve played a LOT of games. From eldenring to xenoblade to roblox to codmw to Minecraft, but this. THIS game will ALWAYS be my number 1 game. It’s perfect in every aspect. It never let me down. I still cry at the end of the game. I still cry at the gusty garden galaxy ost. I would give everything I have currently in my possession to be able to experience this game for the first time again, and that’s not an exaggeration.
Spacejunk, Gusty Garden, Buoy Base, Melty Molten, Battlerock, Good Egg Planet, Galaxy Reactor, Purplet coins, To the Gateway, Rosalina's obersvatory. This songs carried the whole experience like never, they did the magic.
The Spaces Junk Galaxy theme is basically a irony on itself, the neglected galaxy where all the trash is dumped having the most beautifully peaceful theme... And it's probably been said before, but Gusty Garden was such a magnificent song, that both the fans and the producers fell in love with it, and it's composition techniques have been used in many other Nintendo franchises, the biggest example being in it's direct sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2 Main Theme. Obviously nobody has yet to surpass the masterpiece that was Gusty Garden 8Bit Theory the RUclipsr has a full video on it and it's amazing
Gusty garden galaxy is one of Nintendo’s best songs, and they KNOW they struck gold with it. It’s used in Nintendo promotional material that doesn’t even have anything to do with Mario. It’s basically the theme of all of Nintendo
The Super Mario Galaxy OST summed up in one sentence: "I hear 'space junk' and I think, like, 'okay this is gonna sound a bit odd' but this is- really relaxing."
This game got me through the recession when I was like 10 years old. My parents were fighting to save the house, and I was having the time of my life 😂
11:20, 12:26 - 12:34 This song is an instant mood-booster!! I gave it to a pianist this year whom actually agrees with me; because the constant switching between major and phrygian chords gives a feeling of power and confidence that almost no other game I've heard has a better sound to convey it with.
Thank you that i felt like a child again when i played mario galaxy for my first time on my ctr and listened to all these beatiful songs. what a wonderful time.
This video game soundtrack is special to me For anyone who wants more music EXACTLY like this, like the same synthesizers, the beautiful ambient tones, I'm pretty sure Koji was inspired by this album to create this music. It's on youtube: Hiroshi Yoshimura (吉村弘) - Wet Land (1993) [Full Album]
I have been super into classical music since I was a kid so once I played this game, I fell in love with the game especially the music. I listen to this game's music on a regularly basis. It is that important to me.
This game plus its squeal are my all time favorite games ever, highly recommend trying if curious, and I definitely recommend listening to more of its ost if you haven’t

@@dannytallman3022 what are you even talking about.
@@dannytallman3022no they dont
@@dannytallman3022 you're very wrong
I think you need to listen to Good Egg galaxy too, its one of the most iconic ones since its also one of the first Levels in the game, and id also recomment Gateway Galaxy
Actually this game is the first Mario game to have a orchestrated soundtrack
This is always my favorite game of all time, no matter how many games come out super mario galaxy is the one that really made my childhood bright
As fantastic as the Final Bowser Battle is, gotta give the upper hand to the First Bowser theme because it's also fantastic.
If you want to react to more Nintendo games, I'd recommend:
- Xenoblade Chronicles 1/2/3 it doesn't really matter, they are all masterpieces of soundtracks. (XC3 got nominated to best soundtrack this year, so I'd recommend it)
- Super Mario Odyssey, continuing with the Mario soundtracks
- Zelda Majora's Mask, my fav Zelda game, has a very unique atmosphere to it
- Super Smash Bros Ultimate, if you want to cover multiple series at once
Super paper mario also has excellent music. It has this really unique and cartoony feel
I love Freeze burn galaxy such a complex yet calm song
This soundtrack dropped my jaw when I first played this back in 2007, with Buoy Base Galaxy being my favorite track in the game. There are others I'm sad you missed hearing here, specifically the Good Egg Galaxy, which is the game's first real level theme and immediately blew my mind.
Battlerock and Buoy Base follow the same format while ending at the same time and can be played simultaneously as one track.
That’s crazy that you didn’t get to listen to Rosalina’s observatory pt 3
Mario galaxy music like dawn a new morning or whatever makes me so sad sometimes, why it that sad!!!!😢😭
loved your genuine excitement as each song kept getting better!! mario galaxy is absolutely known for its soundtrack. it's just so fun!!
i'm positive other people have told you to react to undertale music but i'll suggest it anyway lol. its great for reactions
So many people use gusty garden as background music in their videos so it’s become just a universally recognisable tune :)
Man the soundtrack still gives me goosbumps every time! Best Mario game ever in every way. Now i need to replay it (have it on switch with the 3D Mario collection, still wished they also remaked the 2nd Galaxy game)
Space Junk Galaxy is one of my all time best songs for a calming and beautiful song from a video game. I love the piano so much
Held my breath till the end. I’m glad at least one version of the Comet Observatory/Luma was listened to! And the immediate reaction to the waltz timing! Lovely:)
There are enough great songs from this game that you could easily do a part 2
13:50 actually they do, Gusty Garden Galaxys leitmotif is used in the Trailer for Super Mario Galaxy 2. You should also listen to that because it's majestic.
Some parts of Bowser jr's theme sounds like it'd fit for a Pokemon game
Ah, the comet observatory theme hits hard. It’s the same feeling of coming home after a long day, in way it is because that’s what hits you whenever you get a star in a galaxy. Tearing up rn 🥲
There isn't a person who watches gaming youtubers who hasn't heard the gusty garden galaxy theme. Every one has used it in their videos
Gusty Garden Galaxy also played during Rosalina’s reveal trailer as a fighter for Smash 4 so maybe there?
This gets me to cry in happiness thank you for the reaction Dusty’s my favourite song still to this day since its first release
i find it really cool how Battlerock galaxy seems to draw inspiration from Mars from Holst’s the Planets
One place you might've heard the Gusty Garden Galaxy music play before is in Mario Kart 8, where it's remixed for the Cloudtop Cruise track.
I will never forget hearing Gusty Garden Galaxy with my little brother on our wii and being rendered speechless 😍 thats the sound of memories
It cracks me how you'd expect "Rock" in the Battlerock galaxy theme but the galaxy is just a *big rock with guns*. Btw nice video
This was my game back in elementary school. I would always beat this game in like 5 days and play it again and still be as amazed as the first time I played it, the music definitely helps.
How about for another video potentially for Galaxy 2, you should listen to the throwback galaxy theme. It's also a bop.
Obviously nobody has yet to surpass the masterpiece that was Gusty Garden
8Bit Theory the RUclipsr has a full video on it and it's amazing
Parts of the Gusty Garden theme are used in the Cloudtop Cruise music in Mario Kart 8.
Gusty garden galaxy is one of Nintendo’s best songs, and they KNOW they struck gold with it. It’s used in Nintendo promotional material that doesn’t even have anything to do with Mario. It’s basically the theme of all of Nintendo
The Super Mario Galaxy OST summed up in one sentence:
"I hear 'space junk' and I think, like, 'okay this is gonna sound a bit odd' but this is- really relaxing."
This game got me through the recession when I was like 10 years old. My parents were fighting to save the house, and I was having the time of my life 😂
I got blown away from the final boss theme
I did not think that that song was in a Mario game
You may have recognized Gusty Garden Galaxy because part of its melody can be found in the theme of the Mario Kart 8 track Cloudtop Cruise.
11:20, 12:26 - 12:34 This song is an instant mood-booster!! I gave it to a pianist this year whom actually agrees with me; because the constant switching between major and phrygian chords gives a feeling of power and confidence that almost no other game I've heard has a better sound to convey it with.
Sweet sweet galaxy hits different
Thank you that i felt like a child again when i played mario galaxy for my first time on my ctr and listened to all these beatiful songs. what a wonderful time.
This video game soundtrack is special to me
For anyone who wants more music EXACTLY like this, like the same synthesizers, the beautiful ambient tones, I'm pretty sure Koji was inspired by this album to create this music.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars by Yoko Shimomura, a legendary composer. Combines Square RPG elements with Mario!
This game plus its squeal are my all time favorite games ever, highly recommend trying if curious, and I definitely recommend listening to more of its ost if you haven’t
Me,still chilling in the giant, empty and worryless void of space junk theme
BJ:hold this electric guitar rly quick
Buoy Base Galaxy has an underwater theme as well which is done perfectly
