Great video as always Dustin!
Glad you enjoyed it!
As usual excellent review. Take care you and sincere thoughts in those hard times :)
Thank you.
Excellent review, as always!
I also enjoy seeing the "100 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ" banknote during the image quality test. It reminds me of my childhood.
Thanks!
I hear that about several of my bills.
Great review as always Dustin , thank you!
There are many options for Sony E mount wide angle lenses now , I recently heard that Yongnuo also released their 16mm wide-angle lens recently.
Will you have a chance to review that lens soon?
I've never heard from Yongnuo about reviewing their lenses before, so right now that's not on my radar.
@@DustinAbbottTWI That's a pity, you are one of the best reviewers when it comes to cameras and camera equipments. I hope they will contact you because Marc from Sony Alpha blog wrote a very positive review about that lens, even regarded it as good as Sigma 16mm. I would be really interested to hear your opinions if you will get a chance to receive a review unit
Between the viltrox 13mm f1.4 and the sony 15mm f.14, which performed better optically (especially in sharpness and contrast)? Which one would you prefer and why?
I would probably lean towards the Sony...mostly because of the size. Both lenses are very sharp
@@DustinAbbottTWI Thank you for your reply. Between the Viltrox 20mm f1.2 and Sony 15mm f1.4, which would you prefer and which one produces the better image quality and sharpness? Thank you.
@@robertgarica You are talking about the 27mm F1.2? I prefer the Viltrox 27mm optically, but those are not even close to being the same kinds of lenses. 27mm on APS-C isn't very wide at all.
Nice video Friend, Which one should be ideally a good choice for Real Estate video Shoots in the low light tight interiors Sony 11mm f1.8 or Viltrox 13mm f1.4 on Sony ZV-E10?
The Viltrox has lower distortion, so I would lean towards it of those two choices.
@@DustinAbbottTWI …Thanks mate..I’m worried about weight on my gimbal Moza Mini P..Can it with stand? Gimbal says max payload should be 900grams..Now the setup gear shall be Camera ‘Sony ZV-E10 =343gms and Viltrox 13mm f1.4 = 430 gms making 780grams approximate and extra’s shall be added like ND filter and Stepup ring…
My copy of the lens makes quite a lot of focus motor noise in video mode… is this just my copy? Or is this the case with all the copies?
Hmmm, I've tested two different versions of the lens (E-mount and X-mount), and focus was quiet on both of them.
My lens also makes a lot of noise. I'll be posting a video soon. It's continous noise when using continuous auto focus. One of the worst lens for noise in video. A great lens in all other aspects
Cheaper alternative that sits well in between the Sony 11mm & 15mm.
Any chance for the Z mount version review?
I'm afraid not. I don't do Nikon reviews. Sorry about that.
@@DustinAbbottTWI fair enough. Let's hope Canon open their mounts soon so R7/R10 benefits from this.
When will you review the Sony PZ 16-35 f4? I think many people are interested in that!
It's not on my immediate agenda. I think I may be on a list for it, but I'm always waiting for the Sony 70-200 GM II and 24-70 GM II
Should have taken that full frame example without the hood. This lens can almost be used for full frame video with active stabilisation or clear image zoom, which is a can be huge but obscure selling point for many people. There's literally no other lens on the market that is about 15mm equiv with f1.4 and af. Checking the lens projection circle on a full frame camera should be on every reviewers list, but barely anyone does it.
Ummm, I believe that the test was done without the hood.
@@DustinAbbottTWI No it was not, check out the video by TLDR filmmaker called "Fast, Ultra Wide, AND Full Frame? Viltrox 13mm f1.4 Review Sony E Mount"
If you are using this lens for video. Beware of the noise when using continuous auto focus. This lens makes a lot of noise that is easily picked with a shotgun mic on top of camera. If you using a mic away from the camera then you should be fine. Overall a great lens. Im returning beacuse of the noise.
That's interesting, as I don't recall that being an issue.
They couldn’t make it a 13mm f1.3?! But seriously this lens looks so nice.
It is a sweet lens for a fairly reasonable price.
That’s the reason I shift to sony, u can use all the lens available to sony. Unlike the canon etc..
That's an unfortunately reality.
If you took away the hood, wouldn't the weird vignette disappear?
I'm afraid not. That's the internal shape of the lens you're seeing.
Appreciate that you need to get paid per service but those'wallets' are just terrible! your average leather wallet holds more, without any gimmick, and can be got for a lot cheaper too.
I don't know - I use one myself and enjoy it.
