By the time Cinder was given the information about the team from Little Miss Malachite, the volume was already 'over' for them. She and Neo are a week or so behind them during this volume.
Well, at least they took an airship (and will likely fly across Mistral to Atlas in a straight line) instead of railroading/slugging around half of Anima, wasting time. I reckon they'll catch up to the others...unexpectedly fast. They'll make up for lost time. Or at least, it would make sense for them to, with an airship and all.
Actually, Cinder's plotline is at least 1 month behind the Argus plotline. Chapter Two indicates that it's been 3 to 4 weeks since the Battle of Haven. Lil Miss takes a week. It probably took a day to bring Neo up to speed. It probably took a couple of days for Neo to do Grand Theft Airship and rendezvous with Cinder outside the city.
@@dawnfallon6812 Yeah, but Ruby and crew wasted 2 weeks in Mistral, before taking a train and it isn't clear how much time passed between their train getting attacked, them shacking up at the farm, then suddenly racing up a hill and finding Argus. That's just another thing that annoyed me with this volume. The pacing of their journey, the amount of ground they covered, was all over the place. Two weeks already passed, then, they were stuck in a house, then they suddenly found Argus, then they walked around town, then they had the fight and within a few minutes, on-screen, they just, poof, arrived in Atlas. It was kind of jarring to try and makes sense of it how much distance they covered and under what time. Aside from walking and being towed, a train up through the mountains was the slowest transportation they could find. Whereas, Cinder and Neo immediately got themselves the fastest possible means of travel. So, considering the two weeks the gang spent in Mistral and however much time (and days) passed with them finding the farm, getting stuck there, getting towed to Argus, spending time there and having a fight, then finally making their way towards and arriving in Atlas, there couldn't have been more than a few days between them and Cinder and Neo. If any days, at all. Them two went straight for an airship and straight to Atlas, just flying straight over everything, in a beeline, even if it was with a Mistralian vessel, which are probably much slower than Atlesian ones. That surely had to make up for lost time. Cinder and Neo can't be more than a few days behind. And judging from the trailer, how the gang gets into trouble and the relic gets snatched, they'll probably spend a few days getting their baring and being slowed down by skirmishes and run-ins with different factions, which, again should give Cinder and Neo plenty enough time to catch up.
You make it sound like this is the first time they've compressed the timeline. Plus there may or may not be some things about the timeline you are off on. We don't know how far they were from Argus when the train got knocked off the rails. They only spent 1 day in the farm, there seemed to be at least some time taken to get there, because we hear Yang complain about it. Guess someone could've pulled out their scroll and checked how much time had passed, but with not much reason besides thinking after walking for a while they would already be close. Plus they had a bike instead of walking so that obviously accelerates their travel when leaving the farm. We don't know how fast Bumblebee goes, lol (might be able to figure it out by scaling a character with the trees, then calculating how fast she passes the trees, could be an interesting thing to look into). Malachite also already knew they were heading to Argus when Cinder first asked her, so if we're going by Cinder being 2 weeks behind RWBY and JNPR, then I don't think they were in the house for 2 weeks doing nothing. They also only spent like 1 day in Argus. Would you rather we had a full episode of them just driving to Argus? On-screen time doesn't always translate to in-universe time. You can clearly see in the Finale that it is nighttime by the time they get to Atlas, so it definitely took at least a few hours. Then you would ask "well why did it take them so long to start talking" and at that point you're just being nitpicky. I guess we need episodes that are several hours long because I guess some people can't understand compressed time vs real time. Also the Cinder/Neo airship scene also took place at night, so that could've been the night before or the same night we end in the finale, most likely night before (possibly same night V6C9 took place in) I guess it could've been a night at any point in a 2 week period, but like you said they're getting an airship and making a straight line for Atlas, no distractions, so it doesn't really matter, Cinder and Neo will probably be there before, at the same time, or slightly after. Also worth noting the Cinder/Neo fight in V6C5 also took place at night.
@@handtomouth4690 It obviously isn't the first time they compressed the time-line and I didn't say they spent two weeks on the farm, it was obviously one night and they overslept, but that's hardly a loss, compared to the time they already lost with the derailment and shacking up in there. Also, I can understand compressed time, when it's done right. It simply wasn't in this volume. One problem with such transitions, that is common with such series, is that the conversations they're having also don't reflect however much time had to have passed between certain events. Same as the start of the volume, where Blake tries to help Yang with her luggage, thinking she needs help, because of her arm. Which would have been perfectly nice and fine and sweet, if two weeks hadn't already passed. They never got into that situation, never had that conversation in two weeks? And it was the same at the end, where they had a sigh of relief and a long exhale after the fight, then, within minutes, with some banter, without any scene-changes and switching over to what was happening elsewhere, (to cut away from them to signify some passage of undefined time) they arrived in Atlas. Now, it is my calculation (something which I used for my fanfics) that with Atlesian aircraft they can make it to Atlas from Mistral within a few hours. That's perfectly fine. Mistralian aircraft obviously take longer to make the same journey. In my fic, I had them make the journey on Mistralian ships and it took somewhere between half a day and three-quarters of a day, intentionally leaving it somewhat vague and they've arrived when the sun slowly started to set, but was still high enough (or...you know...still low, considering it's the poles), nipping out to deal with a situation in some mines, away from the capital and made it back there, on Atlesian shuttles, by sundown. In my sequel, which I'm currently working on (featuring Vacuo - MY Volume 7), I have them fly from Atlas to Vale (as a pit-stop), in a few hours, taking care, between chapters, at the end of one and the start of the next, with scene-transitions all throughout, switching back and forth between different groups, so that time can pass for others. It's not hard or unusual to cut together scenes, either on-screen, or in writing, in a way as to show passage of time and use either day-night cycles or even some small banter to describe estimated travel-time (and ONLY time!), but not necessarily distance, and only defining any of it in vague terms, speaking only of hours or days, purposefully without any exact numbers for a better and easy enough understanding that easily makes sense, without getting into deeper calculations and headaches too much). This volume it simply felt like they didn't nearly do a good enough job with that. If that had been the case, it wouldn't have been jarring. There's a difference between leaving things intentionally vague, but still clear enough for it to make sense and what I've seen this volume. And it's not nitpicking to criticize such an element in the show. Even if it is not THE most important element of it, on a whole, and not the strong-suit of many series, it is still important for a cohesive narrative.
Adam was confirmed dead by Kerry Shawcross (Director and writer)in an RWBYRW interview. He also says that, at the time, they had no intent on doing anything like a Darth Maul.
Even though he shouldn’t. Killing him off like that both ruins plenty of more depth for the character, a bigger character development for Blake and gets rid of the White Fang as a threat permanently. There was so much more they could have done
@@terrencemoldern2756 Nah, given the state of the story, white fang are definitely an unnecessary threat. Besides, there's only so many times Blake can face down the same guy and have it a part of character development.

The whole "I may not be faster, but I'm smarter" stems from her conversation with her dad back in volume 4; about she and Raven thought the only way through something was through force, but if Yang only took the time to think things through, there's a way around as well. She didn't rely on her Semblance (thus strength) to charge in and overpower Adam; she behaved smarter, dodging when she could, using kicks to throw him off (faking him out earlier as well with a similar attack like at Beacon), and only used her Semblance when the moment was right; and even then she acted smart and threw away his weapon to completely rob Adam of a melee weapon, thus taking away any real damage he could've otherwise have done.

I'd say Adam is dead simply because he was stabbed, had no aura and broke his back on a rock and then hit water. Also...It ended their arc, his arc is ended. I think it'd be poor writing to bring him back, but that's just me.
It was already poor writing having Adam seem like a mega badass threat with "end boss" potential at the end of volume 3 and devolve him into a sniveling regular goon who betrays his own ideals in volume 5. If they wanted to try to reset any of that stupidity, then bringing him back won't change anything.

@SaviorOfNirn uh huh, and I bet in a couple months you’ll be in AdelAka or Fatmanfalling’s comments section ranting about Volume 7 is ruining said canon with its ‘pandering agenda’
Adam was stabbed in the lung and then hit the water and might have been stabbed in the heart so he at the very least drowned but might have died before he hit the water.
I also did the math around when the episode first came out, and assuming he was in free fall when he hit the cliff, he'd easily be falling at a speed of somewhere around 100 MPH by that point - so that's his back/neck/both broken as well.
Cinder was a Maiden who was frozen and fell into water. Of course that didn’t kill her. Adam was run through from both sides after having his Aura broken and then smashed on rock side of a cliff before falling into ice water. Things that would lead to Adam dying just on their own coming out of that include. - Bleeding out from the multiple large holes in his torso. - Snapped neck and/or spine from hitting the rock side on his fall. - Hypothermia from the freezing water. - Drowning. He’s dead.
Well...technically Adam confirmed that he believes it is a thing. I think subtlety, teasing, and toeing the line on Bumblebee has to end next volume or the divisions in the Fandom are going to reach insane levels of toxicity the likes of which we have not yet seen before. IMHO the best way to do this would be for Blake to confirm or deny feelings for Yang through a conversation with Yang. Blake has to say something.
@@MisterColeman Adam doesn't choose who they are. Its definitely happing though. I'm ok with it but still triggered her relationship with sun got steamrolled just because the other ship is popular
Deanthony Potts it didn’t get steamrolled, you just didn’t understand what it was. They were trying to show that just because a guy and a girl look at each other (which was their meet-cute moment, they literally just looked at each other in slow-mo) doesn’t mean they have to get together. Initial attraction is not commitment, and doesn’t have to mean their endgame. Modern media has boiled these relationships down to a science, and it’s not only boring but doesn’t allow for much variation in how it plays out (or agency for female characters). They didn’t trick you, they just had the balls to show something that happens all the time in real life but that most media ignores because it’s afraid of doing anything different.
Salem knows that they are in Argus, it may be she sent the leviathan to stop them from getting to Atlas. It's just too much of a coincidence that something that big shows up at just the right time.
for me Adam is dead. I can accept Cinder being some kind of engame since she was the first big evil we have seen. With Adam his story is over and it ended as his lowest his character can be. If he comes back, the writers are hugely incompetent, except if it came with a huge twist that nobody would have seen coming. Just nope! His story and the storys attached to that (Blakes and Yangs big confrontation with theyr past selves) are done. Everything would be a huge waste of valuable screen time if he would be back. Many people give RT a bad time because of the Adam storyline because they think he could have been much more but I think he served the main cast wonderfully and now is his time to make way for a different storyline.
Still, being dead doesn't mean his story it's over. We need some plot with his death and backstory on V7. Also, what do you think of V7 "revived character"?
I’m pretty sure my neighbors hate me, lol. I was jumping, screaming and stomping! 😂 Yaaaas! Yang went total super Saiyan. Ah! This is my favorite episode of this volume!
Great reactions, as always! You'll be caught up just in time to wait ... like the rest of us. On Cinder surviving her fall: As we know from V2C11, you can survive any impact if you're encased in ice. So it wouldn't matter if she impacted water or land, encased in ice means she'd survive without any problems. And with the distance Cinder fell, impacting on water wouldn't be appreciably more survivable than impacting on land, because water doesn't compress.

I agree with y'all that Adam isn't dead due to several different anime tropes including "No-one could have survived that" "soft water" and " they never found the body"
People who insist something is "there" disappoint me. Good two versus one fight. The worry with that is that it always feels one sided and more so in this case because you really know who has to win. But this fight felt very evenly matched right up until the end. You kind of get that Darth Maul, Obi Wan vibe of will Blake have to watch Yang get hurt or even die before she can get there Only thing I would have changed in it would have been the end of the fight. I don't know why but when I had it in my head, I had the eye for an eye moment and after his aura was broken, in a similar way to Yang fighting Mercury, as Adam went for his sword he got a gauntlet blast to the hand. Then a shocked stagger backward and falling to the rocks. I think it would have meant more to have Adam accidentally end himself in his misguided crusade against Blake and for Yang to give him a moment like he inflicted on her. My argument on them killing him is that they are supposed to be the good guys and Blake breaking down after killing him is a double edged sword. Did she emotionally crack because it was all over, because she just killed someone who was a massive part of her life or simply because she was glad to still be alive? It was a good fight, I just didn't like it blurring the lines on those two characters, especially as Blake has professed several times in the past that she didn't want to be like Adam.
Can't believe people are still mad about a psychopathic killer/stalker trying to kill them being killed in self-defense. Blake didn't kill Adam for the same reason Adam killed people.

My Halloween appropriate scary theory for Adam is that something along the lines of a Geist Grimm (beginning of V4: HIS ARM IS A TREE!!) will reanimate his body and nasty, half-decayed Grimmadam will show up in Volume 9 or 10.
@@theycallmebad Evolution of the theory: Watching this episode when it first aired my thought was that Adam might wash up on shore downriver, be rescued and healed up by a human who treated him just like any other person. It could have either led to Adam being redeemed completely or saying "Thanks," right before pulling out his sword, killing them and continuing with his vendetta unchanged at all. But then Kerry confirmed on RWBY Rewind that Adam was actually dead, which completed nixed _that_ theory. A while later when watching someone's reaction to Volume 4 I saw the Geist and thought "Adam's basically an inanimate object now... O.o" And the theory sprang to life once again much the same as Adam would should some Grimm take over his body. So nope, not wishful thinking. I don't want him to come back, but I could see it happening that way. It would have shock value for Blake and the fans while at the same time possibly appeasing some complaints of Adam being a wasted character and his development arc being left unfinished.
First time seeing yangs semblance for three whole volumes. First Yang fight in three whole volumes. First Volume to not treat Yang like forgettable trash in two volumes.
Personally hated the ending but I’m glad that some enjoyed it. Plus the fight scenes were epic. I hope next season has a more dreadful ending like volume 3
I think the Branwens can only change when no one can see them. Qrow gets another sees-Summer-in-Ruby moment. With Cordovan freaking out throughout the fight, and her freaking out the people of Argus, a grimm attack was inevitable. But hey, now we know why the one who knew Adam so well didn't toss his sword when she got the chance: so Yang could do it instead. Stuff like this is why Vexed Viewer made a video called, "Stupid for the sake of the plot". "Oh, he got her!" Other way around. Last time, I talked about how trained soldiers with PTSD don't get the shakes during life and death situations, only during 'quiet time' (volume 4) or when the adrenaline stops (volume 5). Yang isn't a soldier, but she's been training to be a huntress since she started high school (Signal), so yes, it *is* the same deal. She sure has hell isn't a civilian that freezes or freaks at the sign of danger. This time, she faked the shakes to trick Adam, and well done! But unless she was faking it from the start, it doesn't work; and judging by her reaction when Adam first mocks her for it, I don't think she got the idea until then. There *might* be an argument for it starting when they pause the fight, but since she's still facing an imminent threat - *the* imminent threat - I think it's extremely unlikely. Did they ever clarify it, behind the scenes, like they did with Adam being dead?

@@PACKERMAN2077 if so, what happens if her aura broke sometime after that? I mean, her aura broke when adam sliced her arm, so does that not reset the stored power?
@@stal9474 She hasn't been in combat since since because she's been recuperating and still hasn't recovered up until the time she leaves home and then gets attacked on the ship So maybe she hasn't stored up anything in that time
hmmm Well maybe For all we know it's consciously triggered but it's always seemed like when she was younger she didn't have as much control over it and whenever she got pissed off it would flip like the Hulk maybe now she's got more control over it or it's always been a subconscious thing
On top of that again speculation what if tiny damage like a papercut has the potential to be stored up over time stubbing her toe et cetera and that just gets added to her pool until it's released.
If her power does get reset what's the time limit like stacking buffs can she do it only during Is when she knows she's being attacked only during exercise or just passive the whole time.
"Fly my pretties, fly"

@@darknessknows1235 how is it not necessary when it was basically an essential part of Blake’s story? Thus now making her ultimately pointless to keep around. They didn’t reinvent Blake and give her anything else to move forward with. As far as the show is concerned she’s just Yangs girlfriend now.
That’s not even mentioning how much much more in depth they could have gone with the White Fang as a whole and the worlds relation with Fanus but hey whatever it’s just good writing is all I’m suggesting. Let’s get rid of one of the only threats in the actual show and make it only about Salam and Cinder because everyone totally wants to hear more about a angry lady with zero intimidating quality’s now and a girl that repeats her mistakes every season like a broken record. Like how in the beginnings the show Cinder was already a master manipulator and came off as a calm and collected threat. Now she just gets angry over little crap like watts calling her an idiot... who they also kill off because hey he’s just one of the most interesting villains out of the group. Let’s kill him.
It’s literally just Salem , Cinder, Murc and Terrion left. Thank god for Terrion and Murc at least. But yeah this next season definitely is gonna be crap
@@terrencemoldern2756 The fact that you think Cinder keeps making mistakes when she's literally killing off her competition is more a joke than anything. Newsflash, the baddies have won these last two volumes. And really? Blake has no place? Because saving the world requires a personal reason? Because that's what Ruby and Weiss have right?
@@darknessknows1235 lol she is and what do you mean competition lol? Watts isn’t able to become a Maiden and he doesn’t have the ability to beat her. Not once did Watts ever demonstrate anything to suggest that he’d betray Salem or attack Cinder. He provided a sound mind and technology advantages to the group... making him a very good asset.... killing off competition btw is the mistake 😂😂😂. It’s called Haven. She tried to kill off her competition and failed. She tried to rely on her strength and failed. She completely missed Salem’s argument of using others to her advantage... both Neo and Watts still had ability’s she could use yet she effectively killed them off...
That isn’t learning her mistakes and your honesty a joke to act as if it’s otherwise 😂😂 the baddies winning doesn’t matter to me. It’s still poor story writing. As for personal reason. Lol it’s like you don’t read. Her personal reasoning was to save the world from the white fang and she accomplished it. She overcame her issues and now is effectively just a doll for Yang to play around with. There is no need for her or care for her.
As for Ruby and Weiss lol. Their still going through their arcs... Weiss is actually pretty much finished but Ruby is still going through hers when it comes to being an actual leader and understanding people. Also her mom. So yeah wtf is your point again 😐
Happy Birthday Ruby Rose!! (Oct 31th. Only confirmed canon birthday in RWBY)
Oh riiiiiight! Forgot in the Chibi Halloween episode too, it was her birthday. Happy birthday to everyone's favorite little pipsqueak!!!
Well the first episode was released on Oct 31st so it technically is the birthday of the show RWBY as well as Ruby
So what is she, maybe 17 now?
RWBY is an ongoing American web series created by Monty Oum and produced by Rooster Teeth Productions. It premiered on July 18, 2013 on the Rooster Teeth website, and episodes were later uploaded to RUclips
RUclips: Published on Jul 25, 2013 RWBY Chapter 1: Ruby Rose
Oops, thx for the correction, don't know why I thought that lol
Did y'all notice Weiss broke Ruby's fall with Gravity Glyphs? It exhausted her but probably saved Ruby from serious injury/death.
Imagine is Weiss had some kind of haptic force feedback on her rapier when that happens and she felt all of that like a sledgehammer to your hand.

I'd say Adam is dead simply because he was stabbed, had no aura and broke his back on a rock and then hit water. Also...It ended their arc, his arc is ended. I think it'd be poor writing to bring him back, but that's just me.
It likely cured the PTSD for good to. I have a feeling you won't see any evidence of it in V7.
It was already poor writing having Adam seem like a mega badass threat with "end boss" potential at the end of volume 3 and devolve him into a sniveling regular goon who betrays his own ideals in volume 5. If they wanted to try to reset any of that stupidity, then bringing him back won't change anything.

That sounded especially erotic.
“Yay they’re sisters now” righttt sisters lmfao
Adam was stabbed in the lung and then hit the water and might have been stabbed in the heart so he at the very least drowned but might have died before he hit the water.
I also did the math around when the episode first came out, and assuming he was in free fall when he hit the cliff, he'd easily be falling at a speed of somewhere around 100 MPH by that point - so that's his back/neck/both broken as well.
Love this episode, always has a great reaction
Cinder was a Maiden who was frozen and fell into water. Of course that didn’t kill her.
Adam was run through from both sides after having his Aura broken and then smashed on rock side of a cliff before falling into ice water.
Things that would lead to Adam dying just on their own coming out of that include.
- Bleeding out from the multiple large holes in his torso.
- Snapped neck and/or spine from hitting the rock side on his fall.
- Hypothermia from the freezing water.
- Drowning.
He’s dead.
Only after watching these last chapters I understood that Yang x Blake is happening. Adam confirmed it for us
Well...technically Adam confirmed that he believes it is a thing.
RealmOfDawn thanks!
@@losttessa6998 that would make sense... If that scene in vol 1 was the only "moment" that blake and sun had together.
So that moment between ruby and qrow I always wonder how much qrow saw summer in that moment.
Salem knows that they are in Argus, it may be she sent the leviathan to stop them from getting to Atlas. It's just too much of a coincidence that something that big shows up at just the right time.
The negativity that Cordovin was causing could have acted as a beacon
for me Adam is dead.
Still though, the sudden deceleration!?
Unless of course your body was as frozen as the ice incasing it.
Hey, i'll just go with it.
@@DocMicrowave The deceleration didn't seem to bother team RWBY when the train came to a sudden and violent stop. They were a little dazed, but otherwise unharmed. Apparently aura is good for stuff like that - at least, that's what they'd have you believe.

Adam being in my top 5 characters I absolutely love this fight from the last 2 episodes, showing how much he can do, the raw power he has. Good two versus one fight. The worry with that is that it always feels one sided and more so in this case because you really know who has to win. But this fight felt very evenly matched right up until the end. You kind of get that Darth Maul, Obi Wan vibe of will Blake have to watch Yang get hurt or even die before she can get there
Only thing I would have changed in it would have been the end of the fight.
They killed him in self-defence and because they knew he would just come back if they let him go.
Can't believe people are still mad about a psychopathic killer/stalker trying to kill them being killed in self-defense.
Blake didn't kill Adam for the same reason Adam killed people.
@@handtomouth4690 I'm not mad, I explained my position on it. And I remember Blake saying about Adam, that at first they were accidents, then self defence. Hey, Fennec Albain was and accident and now Adam is self defence, nothing at all like Adam...

"im so mad he died/he needed a more respectful death/they set him up for greatness he needed more development" heaux he is NOT the main character you have convinced yourself that he is. He's a secondary antagonist at best idk where y'all got the idea that he was gonna have all this development and screentime for some weird redemption arc. Just cause y'all have been nutting over his anime hair and his sword since the black trailer doesn't mean there were big plans for him.
The thumbnail is perfect
My Halloween appropriate scary theory for Adam is that something along the lines of a Geist Grimm (beginning of V4: HIS ARM IS A TREE!!) will reanimate his body and nasty, half-decayed Grimmadam will show up in Volume 9 or 10.
That sounds more like wishful thinking than a theory to be honest.

But Raven changed right in front of Yang and Weiss.
@@theycallmebad She changed behind the tree.
@SaviorOfNirn *shrugs* I've already addressed this. Whyever you're hung up on it isn't my problem.
I’m still mad he died 😐
At least change his death because that was bogus he had it coming but he shouldn't die because of plot more like a respectful death.
I love Adams death but wasnt a fan of the route they went with him. But im not like "he shouldve been an anti hero" type that seem to be very loud and whiny in the fandom.
@Whiterose Petal Tale after haven he couldve gone to Vale since we know it has a pretty big Faunes population
Rip Adam, you are in a better place right now. The writing can not hurt you anymore.
I'm guessing your headcanon canon didn't pan out either.
Headcanon? I don't waist my time with that.
The writing was garbage, simple as this.
@@gabrielklem48 I thought it was fine, it was the obvious route for them to take the character in since he was introduced
