Are they a whole couple yet? Blake/Yang hasn't been 100% confirmed in a canon source, but all the supplementary indicators plus one in-show coding puts it as pretty damned solid. The voice actresses, writers, etc. have all 'neither confirmed nor denied' it. Also there has been one in-show indicator for a romantic relationship, that of the couple holding hands horizontally while sitting (the over/under hand hold). Only three couples have been shown doing that. Pyrrha/Jaune, Nora/Ren, and now Blake/Yang.
You can actualy see the exact point, where Cordovin started doubting herself. When she kept saying "Your Fault" Towards the end she started looking downwards, and muttering it. Much like she was just saying it to herself
Faults all around. It was the kids fault for stealing an airship. But it was Cordovan's fault for letting her arrogance get the best of her by bringing out that mech (that very likely was supposed to remain secret) to challenge a bunch of kids. Sending a couple of squads and airships after them would have been far more efficient. Funny how after the mech was defeated, THEN she calls for base support.
It wasn't but I like theory that Jinn showed Ruby the vision of Summer as a motivator. It was the only memory that was moving and Jinn did say shed give knowledge for free this time. She meant the fact she wouldn't allow them not to ask a question next time but it's still a heartwarming theory.

I love the fact that this entire season took place over *less than a week* of in universe time. What's a Wicked Witch without some flying monkeys? And yes Calavera's attack on the Leviathan was a Gurren Lagann homage. And glad to see someone else is on board with Taiyang and #entireteam. Now you're with the rest of us. Waiting...
"That's some elitist shit right there." Yeah, I know I'm not the only one that saw the beautiful, glistening, pure city of Atlas literally floating over the burning slums, and immediately thought that a Sector 7 is in the cards for it.
Ruby has friends from all four kindgdoms now Neptune from minstrel,Sun and team cfvy in vacuo,Weiss, team fnky, from Atlas, Yang, and any student from beacon, plus friend from Blake's home island
Well Monty did say in an old afterbuzz interview that he had enough material for up to 7 to 10 volumes. Some people jokingly brought up that if the series was going to go on for a 17 volumes, he always laughed. You can tell by his tone that RWBY was his baby but he probably felt that this was just the beginning. So many amazing dreams and ideas left incorrect at such a young age. It always hurts looking back at his interviews
And we reach the end of Volume 6. Easily the best the show has been since V3, in my opinion. Now I can't wait to see yinz's reaction to the soundtrack. The V6 soundtrack doesn't have any of my individual favorite songs on it, but overall, it's my favorite RWBY album yet.
Its implied that Ironwood knows Ozpin can reincarnate. All the headmasters know. + Qrow as far as we know. Also Glyndas talk with Ironwood in vol 2. ... You know he of all people has more experience than any of us. Or something along those lines
I'd forgotten when Sterling said it, but they have shown wear and tear on the weapons prior to this. At least they did with Crescent Rose in the Volume 4 character short. When Ruby pulls it out just before jumping onto the Nevermore it's shown to have the same dings, scrapes, and notches as are shown in this opening. Not sure if they've given the same treatment to the other weapons, though (discounting Yang's new arm and Gambol Shroud breaking).
Can we just acknowledge that Weiss just smuggled Maria onto the airship, saved the whole team, summoned the lancer, made giant ice bullshit happen, rescued Ruby three damn times and was pretty much the lynch pin of the plan every step of the way, and _still_ managed to re-summon Her Royal Buzzness for Ruby to save the fucking day. And she did all this somehow without collapsing or running her aura out. How the fuck does this girl _do_
Just a nitpick: Weiss actually did collapse after gravity-glyphing Ruby down from her shot into the canon. At least, Weiss sat down pretty abruptly. Really, I'm surprised that there were only a couple of aura breaks in all of this. And the fact that Weiss managed to keep Her Royal Buzziness afloat for as long as she did for Ruby was pretty amazing; I was half expecting that after Ruby silver-eyed the Grimm, Weiss would lose her concentration in the huge relief and letdown that followed, and Ruby would wind up treading water.
I don't know if you know this or not, but Rooster Teeth releases RWBY on Saturdays to paying First member, then to the general public the following Saturday. They ask that you don't post your reactions to new episodes until they release it to the general public.
Cordovan's mech was probably a prelude to that genlock show. I can't be the only one thinking Atlas is going to fall (literally, also) at the end of the next volume. Flying *apes* technically; and I don't care how inconsistent Remnant's physics are, there's no way that wingspan should be able to carry that much muscle. Okay, now for This Is Basically RWBY? Maybe Vexed Viewer's vids?
You know in my head Matthew has been through some stuff. . . lol For ages now I keep thinking of Brent Spiner's character from the first Independence Day when I see him. Then he started cringing at bubbles, and made me think of the dude from JP2 that gets scared of the snake and eaten by the Rex. . .maybe it's just the long hair and beard. xD
Heh. Now go back to the music of Vol 1 & 2 and see just how far ahead they set up vol 6.... I headcanon Atlas sees Neon as one of the 'good faunus'- she is the equivalent of a sports star, so they may treat her better....
I think they only mention that they are from atlas, but they didn't study in the Atlas academy? Maybe Mantle has its own school, probably the first one before Atlas was found. How they act and how they dressed wasn't like the stuck up and snob people from Atlas. Remember Illia at first get the privilege to study in Atlas but then out herself after her parents died in the mines. I might be wrong.
@@vonnydavonci13 No, FNKI was intro'd as from Atlas Academy, Flynt and Neons "battle oufits" did take Weiss by suprise. Recall that no one fighting in the tournament wore their school's uniform her reaction kind of puzzles me.
@@antoniobeltranthesumosnipe8634 Hmmm I watched that episode again. I just realize something... Is Weiss home schooled before Beacon? Since Winter is the only person who taught her how to fight (since that is what they always shows us), maybe she assumed they will act like her sister who is very strict and militaristic. When in reality the academy is not like that? Maybe it is like Beacon, open to any person- be it human or faunus. I mean, Ironwood is the headmaster and a general. I don't think he has it in him to be a racist. The difference is their huntsmen/huntresses are their military forces too.
I believe you are right in the home schooling angle. Winter slipped out of Jacques control by going to Atlas. And it seems (to me) that Atlas Academy functions like West Point or Annapolis-Training but with military service as part of the deal.
And...Cut! Print! We're done! Well, with Volume 6. And tomorrow (for us) Volume 7 starts! Nice review after the chapter end-scene. Love all the analysis and thoughts that were gone over. In case Bruce actually reads comments: 5:48 is the scene the others were talking about, where Maria asks about heading directly to Atlas, the others tell her they have to fight the Grimm, and she smiles slightly as she turns back to the controls.. Ruby saying that they'll fight the Grimmzilla without support and Maria's possible change of heart starts at 8:24.
The fact that they now have a full 3d, moving model of Summer Rose makes me very hopeful that we will learn more about her in some way and that is something I am very keen to see. As well as more of team STRQ, they all have models now. There must be a reason for it. Here's hoping. It was also recently revealed that they have a new female VA. The actor said she loves the character and is looking forward to fans meeting her. So that could be Summer or even Weiss's mother.
I honestly feel like there's a bit of Ilya in Emerald, almost like this would have been Ilya's life if Blake hadn't turned her. I have never felt like Emerald is pure evil. She is a product of environment - doing whatever it took to survive, and then having that exploited by someone who was pure evil, but as a result rescued her from that life, and from that resulted the loyalty between Emerald and Cinder that we now know. Yes, in volumes 2-3 it looked like she enjoyed what she was doing, took pride in manipulating RWBY (and everyone else), etc. But at the end of Volume 3 there seemed to be a bit of a turning point where she was horrified by how far things were taken, and now that she's met Salem that look of outright terror seems to be fixed on her face almost permanently. I honestly think other than fear of Salem herself, the only thing keeping her loyal is her relationship with Cinder. I think it'll be interesting watching the dynamic between Emerald and Cinder going forward - what happens if, as Mercury predicted, that trust is broken? What does Emerald do then? Is that the push she needs to turn on Cinder?
It is still my headcannon that Jinn cheated just once for Ruby. Everyone thinks her "free knowledge" was that she would not allow Ruby to use her again without a question, but it wasn't that was her price for the knowledge. Ruby has no clear memories of her mother, she was such a young child that all her memories would have been distorted. She certainly didn't have one ultra-clear memory of her mother on the cliff. THAT was Jinn's gift of knowledge-- one perfectly clear memory of Ruby's hero, her mother-- just when she needed it most.
Its either going to be a strictly atlas arc, which is most likely, or they are throweing us for a massive twist and the next few seasons are actually vacuo
Neon is indeed on Team FNKI from Atlas. Racism still exists in the world today despite people from all backgrounds in places of authority and significance. Cinder, Mercury, Emerald and Neo on a third faction team? Hell yeah, Team... wait...nope, not saying that...
SERIOUSLY!! Who The hell Teaches Engineering in Atlas Schools?? What's with this Single Point of Failure BS! First the CCTS and Now the Argus Shields? Backups People!! BACKUPS!!
O e theory I've heard is that the single point of failure for the CCTV system was a deliberate choice - basically, no kingdom can take down a single kingdom's communications without also crippling their own, and the networks of the other two kingdoms, thus creating a stalemate where all four are motivated by self-interest to keep the network safe. They didnt consider "someone actively tries to wipe out all humanity and faunus" to be a thing that was likely to happen (and if you dont know the Grimm have a leader, why would you?) Alternatively, and this is my personal favourite fanon, because Remnant cant establish a 21st century global communication network (they dont have spaceflight so they cant launch satellites, underwater cables would be destroyed by Grimm, and even radio repeater towers cant be reliably protected), the CCTV system uses some funky quantum entanglement type system to allow instant transmission between the main towers at arbitrarily long distances, which are then disseminated via regular radio around the kingdoms. Though the local radio networks can function independently, the main towers are using a technology that requires all 4 towers to be operational or the entire network collapses and needs to be rebuilt from scratch (and with everyone blaming Atlas for the Fall of Beacon, they're reluctant to send skilled military engineers into potentially hostile countries to do that repair work)
@@ecyor0 I like the Quantum Entanglement idea (though real physics wouldn't support that obviously) I can see a system like that being an all or nothing (like an electric grid where supply HAS to always equal demand or the whole network goes dark).

I've commented (waaaay more than) enough. More than I should have, admittedly. And a lot of it was negativity, I know that. So the only thing I will say about this chapter is that at the very end, when they showed Atlas, THAT is the kind of thing that separates professional writers, like them, from mere fanfic writers, like myself. Now, the design of Amity Colosseum, in V3, with the massive chunk of gravity dust holding it up, should've been my first clue of what Atlas was capable of, but I figured since it was a joint-project of all four kingdoms, I thought they all had to pull some serious resources to build a floating arena. The Floating Islands of Lake Matsu, in V5, should've been my second clue of what was possible. Maria's moves with the gravity-dust in her double-scythes was just a smaller treat and demonstration of weapon versatility. But, even with all of that, I never imagined they had an entire effing floating city (I mean, that floating bit has to be the upper-class district, where the military, leadership and aristocracy is housed, probably) that is suspended in the air by...uh...gravity-dust-based technology, I guess. It makes me wonder if they can use gravity dust like Eezo (element zero) in the Mass Effect-universe, to accelerate otherwise heavier ships and such. But, I digress. Point is, my jaw hit the fecking floor when I saw that. Though, I found it weird that they thought it was strange they were geared up for an attack. Why wouldn't they be. After Beacon. And news from Haven could've easily reached Atlas, relayed by scout-ships, even after the recall, within a day at most. And coupled with the paranoid mental state Ironwood's in, it's no surprise they're expecting an attack.
I think the surprise comes from the fact that they've prepared a militia of hundreds of ships with thousands of soldiers, even though they should at least know that they're dealing with a small number of elite fighters rather than an army, it seems almost as if Ironwood has some information or reason to believe that a giant war is going to break out
@@dontmatter4804 Well, after seeing what happened at Beacon and how his precious military soundly got their asses handed to them by not only a few elite fighters, but by hijackers, hordes of Grimm, along with their own tech, it's no surprise he's expecting all of that and worse. And I'm willing to bet that the people of Atlas, the ones up in that floating district, aren't even worried. There's no fear, from them, to attract Grimm. Not even after what happened at Beacon or at Haven. The conversations Weiss overheard at that party were evidence that, at last, the upper class of Atlas believe their kingdom is impenetrable and that they're completely safe. And I'm really hoping they'll be proven DEAD wrong. Well, not too dead, not too much of it, but a good wake-up call, like I wrote in my own V6 fic. And the clips we saw of the streets, which are most likely the district below the floating one, the Grimm are already attacking. But, maybe those district are less protected, less taken care of, so Grimm attacks aren't even uncommon there, but I somehow I doubt that, since their military likes to flex wherever it can (a little parallel to the US military there, perhaps).
Personally I think V7 will be Mantle and the shadow of Atlas under a isolationist Ironwood reign. Then V8 will deal with Atlas, Ironwood and the Schnee family. Ultimately I think there is going to be a war initiated one way or another. Next V9 will be Oz and Co. trying to stop and all out conflict before it takes root and Remnant starts picking sides. From there I kind of see a return to Beacon and Vale in V10. Either to secure the relic or to enlist Glynda (She has to be a maiden given her power set in V1C1, either that or she IS the relic in human form, it is a relic of choice after all and humans have choice. Like Jinn is a manifestation of Knowledge, Glynda could be the manifestation of Choice.) If that relic is under the damn fountain that kept being shown in V1 and is just like Haven being under a statue, I am going to be annoyed. I also wonder if this relic of choice is so important and Salem wanted it first because it can remove choice. Is that why Raven is so mad, it was used to take away her choice? From the stuff Raven said and the stuff Tai said, they seem like two different people, Tai sees her as a noble Huntress and we know she really is a loyal Bandit, so was the Huntress part forced upon her by removing choice and once that effect was over she was livid and hated them all? So I guess Vacuo would be the next destination for V11 and as some people have said a female based on the scarecrow being headmistress of Shade. Then V12 and V13 are going to be the Avengers Assemble volumes where they face off against Salem and the Gods are summoned.
Highly doubt and hope that Glynda isn't a maiden or the relic. Last I checked the king of Vale had all the relics. Sword of Destruction that he used to cut down entire armies, the crown was prob the relic of choice, he was also holding the Scepter of Creation, and probably left the Lamp locked up in his castle. After the war he founded the academies and sent one relic to each. So idk what he did with the crown.
Since when does Blake have a boyfriend? Sun and her are literally just as platonically involved as her and Yang are. Personally I think people should stop thinking she's gonna jump into these relationships so easily after her trauma with Adam, especially after just KILLING him
I'm sorry, blushing once does not constitute romance. Ship what you want, but right now both Sun and Yang have potential, with the show focusing on Yang. Seriously, if Yang was a man, who had a heart to heart with Blake, hugged her, promised her a dance, got super hurt after she left, kept holding hands, etc, nobody would say "yeah Blake is dating Sun".
@@manwithoutmercy you have Grimm surrounding Summer's grave in the Red trailer, which admittedly could be Ruby's negative feelings if we use her emotions from Red Like Roses part 2. But we have a character named Summer, same way if Winter is the Winter maiden hiding it in plain sight. We know STRQ did stuff for Ozpin whether they knew it or not. And if Ruby is special like her mom from Qrow's description we can infer that not only did she have silver eyes but could use them. We know that Tock was hunting down silver eye holders for her master and that Hazel said they've handled their kind before. Tock fighting Maria occurred well before Summer could have been old enough to be hunted by Tock and she is the only other known silver eye holder. So it was likely a member of Salem's current council. Ozpin sent Summer out on a mission which Qrow knew enough about to tell Tai when she was overdue that she wasn't coming back from Qrow's fever dream. We also that Qrow was given powers to change into a bird to do jobs for Ozpin. Summer goes out on a missing and is found by someone from Salem's gang. She dies in front of Qrow who was there as a bird if not a person and blames himself and his semblance. This is why he begins drinking. (I also subscribe that Rooster Teeth is splitting hairs about the Dad / Father definition and that Qrow is actually Ruby's biological father that's how he was able to pull rank on Tai at the end of vol 3 to speak to Ruby.) The only other grave/memorial we've seen in show is Pyrrha. Not even a memorial for Mountain Glenn or Kuroyuri. So it's appearance is an important motivator. Oz takes the relic and hides it in Summers grave setting Ruby as a defender to it without her even knowing. This also symbolically allows Summer to keep opposing Salem. Ozpin uses and manipulates people with half truths and lies of omission giving them perceived gifts to accomplish his goals. He did this to Summer Qrow and Raven and Summer died. Knowing Salem was making another move Ozpin moved the relic from a known hiding spot to a seaside clif on a tiny barely populated island, where a grave of one of Salem's feared enemies resided and was cared for by a daughter who had the same power and drive to fight. Or my friend is right I'm overreaching, and it's under the statue in front of Beacon the same seen in the vol 1 opening Jaune is staring at. Where humans and faunus unite to defeat a Grimm.

Only three couples have been shown doing that. Pyrrha/Jaune, Nora/Ren, and now Blake/Yang.
Valashar and Blake’s VA getting a bee tattoo lol but otherwise solid summary
There was a recent Goddamnit Barb moment that has basically confirmed this now...
Yes they are a couple, a couple of great friends.
I did miss a couple that's done the over/under handhold in RWBY and that's Saphron and Terra.

Don’t worry we are close to reviewing volume 6 OST.
Wow you guys made it literally JUST in time
You can actualy see the exact point, where Cordovin started doubting herself.
When she kept saying "Your Fault"
Towards the end she started looking downwards, and muttering it.
Legitimately thought she was about to start crying.
Backstory on her would be cool exploring her relationship with Maria.
Neon Kat was most likely let in to Atlas after Ilia's big blow up as a peace offering to sooth the tention
Idk about that.
Well I think she and neon were in different schools.
@@galonski64
Yup, yup, Neon went to Atlas. She was learning how to become a huntress. Ilia was going to a nkrmal school.
I really don't think Ironwood would be picky honestly. It would be the stuck up nobles who's complain.
It wasn't but I like theory that Jinn showed Ruby the vision of Summer as a motivator. It was the only memory that was moving and Jinn did say shed give knowledge for free this time. She meant the fact she wouldn't allow them not to ask a question next time but it's still a heartwarming theory.
Absolutely been loving these reactions. So happy you guys have enjoyed the show! Volume 7 tomorrow!!!
I like to imagine that all those gorrila grimm took awhile to form from the goop so salem brought out a lawn chair and some drinks and just sat there waiting for the gorilla grimm to come out
You guys are great, its been so much fun watching the series over with you and into volume 7 now.
Can't wait for vol 6 ost
Matthew hummed a whole 6 notes of that Wizard of Oz song and here I am at the end of the video with that tune still looping in my head, how rude
That aside, yay everything's caught up! Now for the (short) waiting game. Volume 7 hype!!
10:33 ZA WARUDO! TOKI WO TOMARE!
Volume 6 is my favorite. It's like a direct answer to the criticisms of the previous 2 volumes and while there are still glaring flaws, I certainly like the direction and am excited for Volume 7!
edit: I was expecting more Pacific Rim / GOJIRA references lol
and "Evil Dead" references too.

"That's some elitist shit right there."
Yeah, I know I'm not the only one that saw the beautiful, glistening, pure city of Atlas literally floating over the burning slums, and immediately thought that a Sector 7 is in the cards for it.
thedarkfreak, I think they were saying Alita, as in Battle Angel Alita, which had a flogging city tethered over another.
@@ravenhull Ahhh, that makes sense. Yeah, I think you're right.
Gonna be alot of racist/elitist mess in atlas
The Atlas chapter of World of Remnant did say that Mantle sat 'in the shadow of Atlas'.
@@valashar5313 Most people didn't think it was literal though.
Cordvin should probably have been courts-martialed for this, but thanks to Ruby she'll probably win a medal & a promotion.
I absolutely love Miracle.
11:25 First thing she thinks of is Weiss.
Again.
Dammit Ruby.
Its implied that Ironwood knows Ozpin can reincarnate. All the headmasters know. + Qrow as far as we know. Also Glyndas talk with Ironwood in vol 2. ... You know he of all people has more experience than any of us. Or something along those lines
And now, you join in the waiting game.
@@Badger77722 Weiss will never let her waifu down.

Congrats on catching up fully now!!
There's a RWBY book that goes through Neo and Romans's back stories btw
Cordovan's mech was probably a prelude to that genlock show. I can't be the only one thinking Atlas is going to fall (literally, also) at the end of the next volume. Flying *apes* technically; and I don't care how inconsistent Remnant's physics are, there's no way that wingspan should be able to carry that much muscle.
Okay, now for This Is Basically RWBY? Maybe Vexed Viewer's vids?
You know in my head Matthew has been through some stuff. . .

Cant wait for volume 7!!

Ruby saying that they'll fight the Grimmzilla without support and Maria's possible change of heart starts at 8:24.
you should watch hammertimes rwby crack videos of volume 6, theyre really good meme videos.

I can't believe they didn't even bother to listen to the song in the credits. Its the first time the show made a real attempt to humanize Adam.
Best suggestion Sterling, "Don't feed it."
I wish we had the knight summon and Mech battle Grimmzilla. That would have been so EPIC

Where's the volume 6 soundtrack reaction?

Have you watched Camp Camp?

@Whiterose Petal Tale And at the end of the day, that is still hardlight dust, so it can run out.
They didnt consider "someone actively tries to wipe out all humanity and faunus" to be a thing that was likely to happen (and if you dont know the Grimm have a leader, why would you?)
Alternatively, and this is my personal favourite fanon, because Remnant cant establish a 21st century global communication network (they dont have spaceflight so they cant launch satellites, underwater cables would be destroyed by Grimm, and even radio repeater towers cant be reliably protected), the CCTV system uses some funky quantum entanglement type system to allow instant transmission between the main towers at arbitrarily long distances, which are then disseminated via regular radio around the kingdoms.
I mean, all the times she was summoning, a flying mount was way more valuable than a Knight.

Wasn't he headmaster of Shade a dude named Theodore...if I remember correctly it was in the book?

Since when does Blake have a boyfriend? Sun and her are literally just as platonically involved as her and Yang are. Personally I think people should stop thinking she's gonna jump into these relationships so easily after her trauma with Adam, especially after just KILLING him
Yeah, no, Blake has no boyfriend.
"Dont Matter" has a point.
Ive got my money on the relic not being in Beacon's vault but under Summers grave.
Zerp interesting theory but what leads you to that?
(I also subscribe that Rooster Teeth is splitting hairs about the Dad / Father definition and that Qrow is actually Ruby's biological father that's how he was able to pull rank on Tai at the end of vol 3 to speak to Ruby.)
The only other grave/memorial we've seen in show is Pyrrha.
