  • This is a video showing how to reset the service reminder, or maintenance light on any 2006-2011 Honda Civic including Si's. All you really have to do is hold the SEL/RESET button for 10 secods until the tachometer starts to blink, release it after it blinks for a few seconds, and then hold it for 5 seconds again until it changes the screen. Then your reset light is reset for another 5000 Miles. Please Comment Rate & Subscribe :)

    I kid u not every time I do my oil change I forget how to reset my maintenance light and I always come back to this video. For like the past five years. Everytime lol .. thanks

    For a moment i thought that my button was not working, I went and searched a ton on vids until you explained that you must hold it for exactly 10 sec then 5 secs. That saved mw from thinking that something was wrong with the computer. Thanks a lot for the clear and informative video.

    Thank you for this. I had my oil changed two days ago, and the garage didnt' reset the 15% oil life and wrench symbol. You've saved me the trip downtown.

    OMG THANK YOU! My mom got this car for me because I have a rare health condition. Without a car I’d be home bound even living in a city. Because I’m sick and can’t work, we are living in poverty so getting the required work done isn’t always an option. I have ADDED fresh oil but I can’t afford a synthetic oil change for at least 2 more weeks (aka after Christmas). It was reading NEGATIVE 100 miles and I didn’t want the meter getting that bad. Wish I found your video last week lol! But it’s reset now thank to you so better late than never right? I’ll just go by the oil change sticker like I’ve done with every other car I’ve owned instead of the maintenance minded that no one asked for in cars 😉
    Also it wanted me to replace filters that were changed IN JULY. I just got this car from a dealer and they did service that wasn’t required by the cars schedule. No way filters and fluid flushes are done every 3 months. So I’m glad that code was removed too!

    Good day, I have a 09 civic and the tpms light has been on for quite some time now, the computer doesn't say there is anything wrong with the sensors yet the tpms is still on, the rims were rotated front to to back at one point but I can't remember if the light came on at that time, the mechanic uses the computer to clear it off the dash but after a few miles the lights back on. any advice on what could be causing the light to be on???

    Do you have a problem with your brake pads wearing out every 15,000 to 20,000 miles?

    • @nigerianskills1919
      @nigerianskills1919 9 лет назад

      Yes my brakes always squeak less than 15000 miles. It's crazy I gotta get new pads. I think the mechanics install cheap ones so Ima have to learn how to do it myself

    • @Prestigeairsoft
      @Prestigeairsoft 9 лет назад +2

    So does the oil need to be changed? Or do I keep doing this until the engine blows up?
    How do I know that the oil I have is healthy for the car. If someone would reply, that would be great. Thanks.

    • @elwerocdn
      @elwerocdn 8 лет назад

      +leftnao exactly what i am saying. My parents say their v6 trucks go through less oil changes my civic is telling me to to do.

    • @christopherhernandez5212
      @christopherhernandez5212 8 лет назад

      You can check the oil level directly through the engine compartment rather than relying on the maintenance light. You can do so by using the dipstick

    • @leftnao
      @leftnao 8 лет назад

      i should have mentioned that i did check and it was at the proper level and the light still came on at 10%. I did this and 3 months later the oil % is at 80% and the car doesnt seem to struggle with over heating. thanks for the replys.
