Pole Vault - 6 How to Plant

In this video I will show you the correct way to plant the pole vaulting pole.
If you ask a vaulter what the most important part of the pole vault is they will probably say the plant. And I would tend to agree. The reason the plant is so important is that it provides the transition required to convert the horizontal energy of the run into vertical movement. Now the plant can be made to be a very complex movement and broken up into several parts but I like to at least start by keeping it as simple as possible and describe it as one motion. I introduce the plant to vaulters by starting with the arm movements and then add the leg movements.
