Thank you for this nice video. Beautiful bike with nice patina too. I have four airheads in my garage. From 600 cc to1000 cc. All with matching numbers. 1969 to 1994. Greetings from Switzerland, Vaud county. I'm not an expat, but a genuine swiss citizen .
Well done on getting back to the original. The BMW toolkit under the saddle has the spanner for those big nuts! Tap it with a mallet and it will get it loose.
Haha, just commented on brakes in previous video. I don’t have air in garage but just used a footpump to push out the pistons which worked perfectly. I spray painted assemblies in Simoniz tough satin black. Came out perfect and still good after thousands of miles.
Yes I was going to order one of those airbed attachments and try to pump it out. Thankfully I was able to twist em out fairly easily. I've sent my calipers off to be cerakoted black. I was worried that paint might fill out some of the original details like the brembo font. It was stupidly expensive so maybe I should have just painted them.
Thanks mate, I'm really interested in watching your progress and watching future vids of you touring on this beautiful classic. Keep up the good work buddy :)
Great video. I've watched all your Royal Enfield Interceptor videos being a owner of one as well and restore 1970s Japanese bikes being a owner of a 1974 CB750 and just finishing my 1978 CX500 and find your BMW project very interesting. Your presentation and narration is first class, you've even got me interested in your Indian cruiser and your modern bikes. Great that your not going to over restore it and your going to keep its patina. Keep it up
Before you know it, you’ll have her back on the road!💪🏼 As I commented last time, your colour choice is spot on! It’ll look stunning when all back together. As for the brake discs & your concern with heat? You’re in ENGLAND!🤣🇦🇺 Yes I know you had a “couple of hot days” up there this year. We’re officially into our 4th day of summer here & expecting a lovely 34C.😎🫢 Looking forward to your next update.👍🏼
I’ll be following your progress with real interest through to February WM..a lovely classic bike that deserves the tlc.. soaking of WD40 always wise pre removal of those large flat nuts..atb and good luck! Have a great Xmas and new year!
Nice to see you're going along with the project! I like the way you think re. keeping it a bit "reliced" :) My CX 500C is in the same ballpark as the Beemer total condition wise, and i don't plan to do anything more than re-paint the tank and side covers in original colour and trying to find OEM decals for it. as with yours, it isn't mint, but i'm not afraid to take it out for a spin either. Cheers!
Have a few clocks and voltmeters and on one of the clocks a previous owner has pushed a piece of plastic tube over time adjust spindle which seems to work.
Great video, great personality. Cheers from a fellow Enfield rider and lover of airheads... although these days I really love my old Guzzi .. keep us posted on the project!

Great video. It's good to watch people like you who know their stuff. So people like me who know very little can enjoy the project 👍
Cheers Phill. Glad you are enjoying the vids.
Great restoration project , I had my RS in 1988 your work is bringing back great memories , now looking for another to do myself, take care
Glad the project is bringing back those memories. It's a great bike to work on, i'm enjoying it so far!

Thank you. Sadly my tool kit is incomplete. I ordered one from Flatracer, worked perfectly.
Good video :)
Very good job Bro🎉

We’re not exactly known for our hot weather. It’s currently 5C here in London (maybe I should have kept the hot grips)🥶 Enjoy the summer ☀️

Cheers Alan. Yes I should get those nuts sprayed well in advance. Fingers crossed they don’t put up too much of a fight. We’ll see.

Exactly. She's built to ride! I don't want to create a garage queen.

Thanks. I’ll try that.
Thanks
Hi Wayne. Thank you for the tip, very much appreciated. 👍
Are you keeping the 16mm brake master cylinder? I’ve heard good things about going to a smaller size like the 13mm unit.
I’ve replaced the stock MC like for like for now. I’ll give it a try with the new discs and pads and see how we go.
How much was the paint if you don’t Ming me asking? Thanks interesting series of videos!
Will be around £900 for the main paint. All the controls, yoke and brackets around £250 for the Cerakoat and Powder Coating.
Jon. Those horrible blue pre insulated connectors have got to go. They look aweful and a weak point.
Absolutely. I’ve got to go through all the wires at some point. There are a few dodgy connections here and there.
@@WildlifeMoto i may have some here if you want some. Drop me a message if i can help.

Thank you sir. More videos on the way 👍
