Bing carburetors are the R90/6’s. Your beautiful TT Silver Smoke has gota Dell’Orto 38. They are a bit more temperamental than the Bings.
The R90s has Dell'Orto carbs not Bing. Also Dell'Ortos don't have ticklers.
I’m going to have to Google this whole sentence 😂😂 many thanks Syd, will take a look 👍🏻
Trust Syd. He is correct. I have a 1976 Silver Smoke. All R90s had DelOrtos. He obviously needs a serious tuneup.
Thanks Charles 👍🙏🏼
Yes they had Dellorto PHM carbs. Some of these had ticklers.
Not sure what to say about those rusty brake disks. Are you sure he rode it there? The bike sounded as if he hadn't started it in several years. But love my airheads
It’s an old bike 🤷🏼♂️ he rode the whole week with no mechanical issues. A very experienced rider, looked very smooth on the road 👊🏻
cast iron discs. people change from the stainless ones for better braking. probably very salty roads before riding to parking space. Saying that his battery was nearly flat and I don't think he was particularly mechanically minded!
@@TRISTANorTRIS rides a great line though....I couldn’t keep up 😂
It just seems with all the riding he did would have cleaned up the disc a little more. I believe he rode it. I am just surpised
@@bryanbrooks1460 Like TrisFIXED said. Cast iron discs. They rust very quickly in the damp. They were all the rage back in the day. They gave much better braking
Just look if the engine and the frame numbers are similar. Look at Mark Huggett site and you'll know if your bike is an original R 90/ S. " Month and year of production. Write only the six first frame numbers!!
Sadly, your seat is not original, and the/ S has no fork gaiters.
Excuse me for my poor english, I' m a swiss citizen and I' ve learned english at high school.
Have a R 90/ S in my garage, with matching numbers.
Thanks Thomas! 👍🏻👍🏻
@@BikesVansandThings I' m a swiss citizen, swiss father and german mother. Both died long ago. I bought my R 90/ S in 1998 in Geneva. I live in Vaud county. Main town: Lausanne.
@@thomasspoerli4659 funny, I saw two pass me yesterday. Look great on the road

My first BMW bike was- and is- a R 60/ US, 1969.
Bought 1978 with my first salary!!
Very rare in Europe.
/2 frame and engine, and /5 front fork and without possibility of mounting a side- car.
Matching numbers too...
With high- priced Schorsch Meyer 24 liters tank.
And still in my garage!
Can you speak a little french? And in wich country do you live?
should fire up quicker than that !
