      He purposely fails to mention stronger contrary evidence and cherry picks weaker science, misrepresents it, and flat out lies about it. He is the opposite of reason, logic, and honesty. Then he cries the "mainstream academia" is attacking him.

    Hancock's critics and detractors most often mischaracterize his position. As he states in the video, he is NOT an "ancient astronaut" advocate. He is NOT saying the lost civilization was more advanced than we are today. He is NOT saying the bulk of modern archeological results are wrong.
    He IS saying there is enough unknown, enough unexplored, enough evidence to warrant a CONVERSATION about the possibility.
    Why is mainstream so unwilling to have a conversation?

    • @conceptstillsandmoti

      And even now there are parts of the world with subsistence farmers and on other parts of the planet they are making rockets going in to space. Why could it not be possible that there could have been advanced cultures sitting beside subsistence farmers like today? He is often claimed to be a Pseudo scientist, and he has never claimed to be a scientist. Always think they have already lost the argument if they just stick to name calling, rather than actually discuss some of Graham's evidence.

There was some manmade lighting and a very steep wooden ladder/staircase thing that went up to the “king’s chamber”, which was a medium size room with a broken granite box in it. No decorations or architectural design anywhere. The other tombs we visited were carved with images from floor to ceiling. I always thought the caravans coming through the desert found the pyramids and camped there for a while waiting for the builders to come back, because obviously they were in charge of the world. Eventually it turned into Cairo, an unplanned city with haphazard streets. Again, my imagination.

      @@JP-je6jg we could start with there was no evidence of civilisation prior to Sumer? Moving onto the Incas built the Andes Citadels? When they said they did not? Nipping across to carbon dating .... it cannot date stone and the material they cite could have been situated there after construction. I will finish off with the water erosion of the sphinx? As a history graduate i was taught history relies on it's sources and interpretation. The sources are requiring further interpretation. That is all Hancock has really ever argued for.

    • @JP-je6jg
      @JP-je6jg 2 года назад +2

      @@yvonnesmith2115 well presumably as a historian, you must understand that you need to look at multiple sources. So it strikes me as odd that you used Robert Schochs theory on water erosion on the sphinx...when multiple other geologists who have worked on the sphinx have discredited his ideas (Colin reader and Rob Schneiker to name 2). Arguments that as far as I'm aware, he has never answered (there is a very good video on the World of Antiquity RUclips channel on the subject). Have you looked at the alternative theories put forward by other geologists?
      Well if we hadn't found sites, if the only evidence available pointed to more primitive cultures, why would the theories make stuff up? For someone who claims to have 2 degrees, you seem oddly dismissive of the scientific process 🤔. I'd also say there is a world of difference between finding a site like Gobekli tepi, a site verifiably dated to 10,000 years ago, and making literally baseless assertions about the age of the pyramids. He has no evidence, all he does is speculate.
      Carbon dating is just 1 method for dating historic sites and items. Again, surely your big fancy history degree should tell you that?

    A man who has walked through the fire and never gave up. Things he suggested over 20 years ago that were laughed at and ridiculed have turned out to be plausable. A massive megalithic site dating back to a time period that previously was not possible and evidence building for a cataclysm in time period he suggested back then.
    Don't be fooled by the haters and don't take his ideas as fact. He doesn't say this idea is fact, yet academics get so angry and worry the 'stupid people' are being duped by his ideas. Academics duped everyone with the Clovis first model which has now been proven wrong.

      Academics didn't dupe anyone with the clovis first model...it was based off the information available at the time. As new discoveries were made that suggested it wasn't true...opinions started to change. There is a National geographic article from 2007 that is easily googled, that highlights how the understanding has changed.
      No archaeologists or historian ever says we know it all. That's why they keep digging...to find new stuff. It was an archaeologist who discovered gobekli tepe and continues to work on it...not Hancock. Why has he never made such a discovery?

Call it intuition but I resonate deeply with the idea that our human species is much more complex and ancient than current scholars allow in their text books. You only have to look at the way modern humans follow rigid rules of religion, Christianity, Islam and Judaism being the main reason that this information is suppressed and proves how control and dogma shape our current human story. The control evidently spills over by banning Graham from sites and blatantly disregarding evidence that is smacking the archeologists and historians in the face by never digging deeper. If anything their arrogance makes Grahams thoughts and ideas even more interesting and credible. It’s a war on dogma but I have a very strong feeling vindication is coming!

    Actually, the person who really broke this story was Immanuel Velikovsky and the Thunderbolts Project has refined much of what he said. There seems a fixation on the event corresponding to the Younger/Dryas, but the Thunderbolts Project has proved rather conclusively that these events were occasioned by the change from a much different solar system in which Saturn was captured by the current main sequence star. Because these conjectures are associated with a very different cosmology even much of what Hancock believes is probably too uniformitarian to be correct. It would also help if he made some attempt to sync up with Velikovsky, David Talbott, and Dwardu Cardona, instead of insisting that he is a uniquely insightful scholar. After all, it was Velikovsky who wrote *Mankind in Amnesia* not Hancock.

      The pyramid design was inspired or provoked by the sacred mountain which was a giant pillar in the sky created by plasma streaming between the Earth and Mars during the polar configuration. It was inspired by an archetype which, in its origin, was provoked by an actual cosmic event lasting thousands of years and seen by almost everyone on the planet, at least north of what was then the equator (which is not the equator of today).

      @Demosophist 2 года назад +2

      Quetzalcoatl was simply a giant plasma emission in what is called "arc mode," something that Anthony Peratt identified as associated with the "Thunderbolt of the Gods". Cardona identifies it much more specifically with the cometary Venus.
      The beard which is sometimes identified as whiskers is, like the feathers, commonly associated with dragons. And they are, again, a manifestation of plasma in arc mode. Hancock's interpretation of this phenomenon as a person is too conventional, and is probably the result of later modifications to a much earlier mythology that more properly identifies the provocating cosmology.

Science is about questioning and constantly learning more to better understand our universe. If you get hung up in dogma instead of always questioning, you've lost the point in the exploration and discovery.
    Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.

    Valuable real estate indeed, especially where a river flows into the sea. A major archaeological effort is needed in such locations. Difficult as they are now covered with about 120m of water - too deep for conventional diving which realistically is only useful for the top 20 or 30meters and at a pinch with special diving mixes and underwater habitats, to, say, 90m.

    You are on the right track, and "Academia" will continue to obstruct you and others at every turn as you have already discovered. The bigger question that needs to be asked is why?
    For that you have to go back to the drawing board, and start with a completely new canvas. Without throwing the baby out of the bath, one has to re-piece the jigsaw puzzle but this time put aside all prejudice and preconceptions and then hopefully what will emerge is a picture that none of us could have ever imagined. You remind me of "Scully out of the X-Files" which isn't too far from the truth in all fairness.
    Academia, is fearful that if humanity truly discovers its real origins it would literally freak everyone out. The "Smithsonian Institute" has collected, and stored all the evidence that would be proof enough to validate that it is all true. However in their opinion mankind is not ready for this news to go mainstream. The fallout is unimaginable, in short. Anarchy, would throw our world into utter chaos. The order, or status quo would be no more.
    Ironically the so called powers at be have been gradually leaking this to us, in what they believe to be a safe-guarding way to ease us to accepting disclosure. The problem that they had is underestimating humankind to actually be far more accepting than making out that we were all ignorant. When I discovered sometime back that the so called "Great Pyramid of Giza" wasn't actually so great in the end. It became very clear that there was "Academia" who now had something to hide, which they have been protecting us from.
    The downside is no one appointed them to do that in the first place, as I don't recall being asked, do you? Satire, is so useful. There has been much speculation, and whilst the "Great Flood" does make itself present in many a religion and folklore, I have an alternative explanation which will blow you away.

      Agree almost entirely with your observations. Here in South Africa the evidence is overwhelmingly that an unknown civilization did indeed exist. There are numerous geoglyphs of enormous dimensions, faithfully recorded by Google Earth now that they produce higher resolution images. I have screen saved hundreds of images of these and of other intriguing outlines of villages, especially along the African east coast, and towns with serpentine walling. In good faith, I emailed a well known local archeologist, photos of inscriptions on a large rock located in the khami complex. I even highlighted enough of the inscriptions to indicate how symbols were repeated. His reply, to say the least, was indignant with all these !!!!!???? Yes, political archaeology exists.
      And no, I'm not giving away co-ordinates. Not until someone shows enough interest to take the matter up. Besides, anyone can find the same evidence.

      Let's look at the world right now.
      Russian invasion of Ukraine is killing thousands of innocent people and causing havoc around the world.
      The cost of living crisis is making basics a struggle to afford, fuel, heating your home, even feeding your family. People's ability to survive is really being affected.
      The very essence of democracy is being challenged by lies and misinformation. Social media is warping people's minds with specific algorithms deigned to keep us addicted to our phones and various apps.
      Here in the UK, crazy government policies caused interest rates to rocket, meaning people can't afford their mortgages...even affluent families are now struggling.
      Now with all that going on...tell me why the hell people would give a crap about how old the sphinx is? How does knowing if the sphinx is 12000 or 4500 years old help a mother feed her child? Or a father make his mortgage payments? It just doesn't matter to pretty much any ordinary person.
      Look at all the most important people in the world, the Elon musks, the Jeff Bezos, Trump, Oprah, Jay Z, Lionel Messi, Xi xingping, Joe Biden....can you point to any of them as archaeologists or historians? They have no power, people by an large don't care. I work in a museum and I csn tell you, people remember about 8% of what they see. People don't care about dates. There is no big conspiracy to hide it from us...People just don't care. Grow up.

    • @Pieter8377
      @Pieter8377 2 года назад

      There are several reasons why history is being prevented and subsequently why it should be revealed.... first one that comes to mind is how true history would reveal how utterly ridiculously our past has been "revealed". For many years , institutions, academics, politicians have lauded over the "truth" and guiding policy and laws governing the peoples of the world. The major religions, the Trumps, the super wealthy have very much benefited from this confusion of facts and errors within errors. Academic archeologists who are so afraid of contradicting their colleagues have unwittingly bolstered the great lie. It goes without saying that wars, hunger and poverty start and stop with religion and the politics that accompany them.
      A great reveal about true history would utterly destroy the institutional lies and the accompanying greed and they know it. It could throw world order into chaos if it was discovered that great civilisations had existed in our past, that were for example, far more successful and peaceful. Does not everyone deserve a spot in the sunshine?
      Do we think for one minute that homo sapiens, who have existed and evolved for hundreds of thousands of years with the same brain capacity as modern man were all backward and somehow inferior to us? Capacity for deceit is demonstrated in nearly all forms of life on this planet and was probably a necessary component for existence but surely , nothing like the power and greed demonstrated by the trumps, Putins and Bezos who thrive on the great lie, were necessary?
      So yes, it matters that lies of this magnitude are revealed. It matters a great deal.

    It’s interesting to hear Mr. Hancock say all of these things, because archaeologists really really don’t like him. I will share something up my own experience. I have met scientists, such as archaeologists, anthropologist, and, of course, historians in my lifetime. A lot of them are very intelligent, knowledgeable, and wise. Some of them are not. Some of them are presumptuous, defensive, arrogant, and somewhat insecure. I’m not really sure where that comes from but if you Dare to challenge certain viewpoints that those particular individuals or institutions, keep… You will encounter massive resistance, and they will become antagonistic and reject anything you say, after that point. They will not even entertain, listening to a logical statement, or rational argument about something they think they already know everything about. That being said, I have also met some wonderful archaeologists who truly are what they say they are… A student of the past. They know that there is much more left to learn, and they know that there is a lot more unknown than known. they understand that as the earth itself ages and changes… More archaeology and answers are revealed. Of course, along with that more questions arise. It’s interesting that there are many ancient texts and writings that talk about massive cataclysmic events, such as floods and fires and earthquakes. I have traveled to a number of countries around the world and seen evidence of these events. Some of the things cannot be explained by modern science. So I say… Why not think outside of the box and get creative with ideas about what may have happened? If what we are going through on the earth right now, is any indication of what could have happened or might have happened or actually did happen thousands of years ago… Who are we to say it cannot and did not?! to simply say that, you know everything about everything is the a pitta me of arrogance and borderlines on becoming evil. It is that type of elitist point of view that has landed all of humanity in the mess that we are in now. It’s time for change. I do not think we should simply except the opinions of academia as irrefutable fact anymore. I think we should except them as what we know so far, with room for more. I know that that’s going to piss them off, but I don’t really care. Only the ones who are guilty of being inflexible, need to worry about this. All the rest of the people out there who are doing fantastic work and research and crafting and excavating and hypothesizing, have my respect, and I would happily go along with them on a dig, or help them to analyze and clean up what they find. I’ve done it before. fortunately, archaeologists around the rest of the world are catching up with the times, and they are understanding now how little we know. It seems to be that only the ones in North America, and in isolated cases other countries just aren’t willing to budge on their previous positions. I will say one thing about Mr. Hancock, I don’t think the civilization was lost at all. I think part of it was totally destroyed. I don’t think that there are remnants or descendants. Still living on earth. No, I don’t think they were aliens. I think they were advanced human beings. People think that advanced civilization means advanced technology, but I think they are limiting themselves by that motive thinking. Advanced means more than just technology. It means an advanced higher way of thinking, learning, living, and applying knowledge and wisdom. We have advanced people living on earth now. They are the ones dreaming up things the rest of us wish we had thought of. We all have it within us to be like this. I agree with Mr. Hancock. I think the civilization was more or less wiped out with the exception of those who may have been chosen to survive, because they paid attention to the signs. Kind of like what’s happening in the world right now.

    It is extremely difficult to 'lose' a civilization. Hancock's Atlantis would have produced a large of artefacts peculiar to itself - not those of other early civilisations. That is all Graham is essentially saying and simply wants to have a conversation about it.
