- So close! I really want to keep this transmission set up but its looking like it may not work and I have to start over. Engine Break-In is half way done but I would like to complete the break-in with a proper transmission to prevent damage to the gears or worse, the engine! Thanks for watching and special thanks for reading my description! I never knew you read these until now! Ducky is proud!

Glad to see it out in the wild. The Chevy body has never been more appropriate. Engine runs good but the transmission is a few extra neutral gears for some reason
Why did GM cheap out on my transmission!!!
This guy is a dumbass thinking the transmission is broken when he puts the bearing on backwards. I piss on his pillow tonight
@@haywirercsounds like a 4l60E; Mr. "4L- slippy" hahaha

That thing is rad! Steering system looks sick not many people have put in front mount steering like full sizes
I wanted front steering. Still needs alignment and a proper linkage as it has a little bit of play. I've heard benefits of front steering compared to rear steering and saw not many rc used front steering and took the risk to try it.
Looks awesome, sounds awesome. Could the one way bearing in the transmission be backwards?
@@MattCustomsRC don’t do this to me😂 I better check now!
@@MattCustomsRC OMG your a genius. I am not kidding I had it backwards. Well that was fun.
I was going to say man it’s either a bad bearing or it’s in backwards because it’ll only grab one way. If your engine was spinning the other way it would’ve worked! Not a big deal super quick and easy nice job! Can’t wait to see another video
@@MattCustomsRCI’ll squeeze a video real soon. Maybe tomorrow who knows!
Sick build man! It seems like a buggy set up would work best. But a headache
I found a problem with the buggy transmission unfortunately. My rear axle won’t be able to mount because the buggy’s use cups for dog bone axles. I could weld the axle mounts to the drive cup and have same set up mount on it. I’ll be thinking about it all week during the important stuff I’m “supposed” to do😂
Looks too great! Lookin' like you'll have er running soon under its own hp. Unfortunate the ol transmission is not playing nice. Hopefully, find one that works. The engine sounds strong! It would be fun to run project Beam-Runner with your truck. 🔥🏁✌️🏁 .p.s. i ain't gonna subscribe, ha
@@projects_on_wheels understood😂👍
Dude, you really knocked this custom build out of the park! Not a lot of people are doing cool custom nitro builds. Hats off to you sir
Thanks! I plan to do many more and maybe dedicate the channel to it. The LST won't be going anywhere don't worry
@haywirerc I'm glad because I love your LST videos as well. Need to get mine out soon. Every time you post an LST video, it makes me wanna get mine out. I need to find a spot to run where people won't complain about the noise tho
We’re not going anywhere man, this build is so impressive. But I know the feeling when nitros don’t work, you just want to spike them into the street. Relatable.
I left an angry review for that transmission lol
Thats a wicked build bud fair play looks a beast . Class fabricaten building your own cage
Nope, it’s an awsome build but get that gas outta here
Sorry man I get gassy after chipotle
Would you consider using an HPI RS4 Evo 2 speed transmission and clutch bell?
@@zchamberlain710 probably what I’m gonna do. I’ll try it again this weekend but if it fails for the third time I’m done with it
I used the one way bearing and it worked! Stay tuned!
@@haywirerc from the HPI 2 speed? Looking forward to your progress update 👊🏽🏁
@@zchamberlain710 uploading in an hour
I just subbed. Awesome build! Always good to trust there will be something that will work eventually. Looking forward to it.
@@PeterPeer more fun ahead! (Don’t think I’m being sarcastic, it has come a long way and feel that it’s for the best I figure out the right set up)
Besides the trans problem that’s a sick cool build 👊
Pretty sweet build. I can't imagine that steering system's going to work properly though.
Everything is a work in progress. I was hoping to expose the issues but gotta get the transmission to work first.
@@haywirerc gotcha. Well it's definitely an awesome looking truck!
Super cool bro! This is stellar!
Awesome looking truck💯great job on the cage. Nice to see such a build. Absolutely love it. You will get it sorted out. Have you thought about a Kyosho or Serpent GT transmission?
Great vid bro 👊
I have but couldn’t find a clutch bell for it. Maybe the LST will mesh with it. Also the size of it might be too big and the transmission body might hit the pipe.
I'm still impressed 😁👍
@@michaelgraham2943 me too but I double checked and I put the bearing backwards. Can’t go one way when it’s on the wrong way😂
Have you tried a revo 3.3 transmission??? Could be a possible option... if not then a nitro buggy/truggy transmission would probably be your best bet.
@@bbuck40 are tmaxx transmission like a revo? A long long time ago I was gonna do a tmaxx transmission but then I gifted it to my cousin and decided to go with the HSP transmission.
Damn you china gearbox copys 🖕 sounded like loose grub somwhere, guess either way it shows the weak spot, bright side.. all your work was sound 👌 ❤
@@andrewgates9518 I’m gonna give it another try. Hope it works!
So fucking cool bro. I hate that I am such a dumb fuck. I would love to do something like this.. work of art dude. Good job
Thank you. I hope you can too someday.
A tig welder would make for nicer stronger welds especially with these small components
@@precisiondiesel225 i could of bought a tig welder with the money I’ve spent on this toy😂 I’ve been wanting one before I started
Nothing wrong with successes and failures within a project. It’s all fun and apart of the process.
- Definitely an interesting project and thank you for saying it with us 🩷
Is it possible that the one way was installed backward? Or the trans is spinning in the opposite intended direction?
@@a2rc I did have it backwards initially but when I took it out it was also broken😂 second one I destroyed but thankfully no damage to the gears. Maybe because it was backwards.
Also do the HPI Rs4 two speeds use a one way bearing like mine? How do those hold up?
@@haywirerc It’s looks like you have a “HSP” 1/10 version or even a clone of HSP
- The HPI 1/10 version transmission do use a one way on the first gear and in my experience, they hold very well.
- I’m not sure how they would hold up to a big block
Also note, some HPI 2 speeds are not intended for off road use. Example: Nitro MT2 2 speed is not intended to be used off road. Only smooth pavement situations. They are not designed to be used on jumps/bumps/rough ground/extra grass grip situations, etc. My guess is that it would hold up a lot better than what you current have install on the truck though
- Just food for thought. Hope it helps a bit
Arhhhh man she ALIVE broksi you did it, yesssss bro bet you proud as punch 👊 ❤
Alive and kicking! So awesome.
Nice DIY cage DO!❤
Hell yeah bro 🤜💯
Sweet Custom Rig Bro!
Thank you! 2 years in the making finally out in fresh air!
@@haywirerc I wanted to do that to my super rock rey because I'm always breaking the chassis in 1/2. Probably just weld 2 chassis plates together and call it good.
you did a badass job on a nitro trophy truck! and yeah avoid cheap Chinese parts. But overall congrats!
@@hpiedsavageed7608 lesson learned
@@hpiedsavageed7608 I actually may stick with the transmission but swap that one way out for a one way from an engine if I can make it fit in it
Nitro is cool but I do not miss it at all and would never go back lol. Nitro is more cool to watch than have to actually deal with 😆
I enjoy working on the engines. It can be really tedious cleaning them constantly and sucks to not run them in mud or water. I run all my nitros alot which means I need to also maintain alot. A trade off I don't mind but electric is the best when you don't have the time and money.
@@haywirerc Time and money isn't an issue for me. It's the constant 1 way bearings, clutches, and mess that I had enough of lol. Electrics can get expensive too, at least the ESC's and batteries, but they'll last for a long time and almost no maintenance. I run most my stuff on the road as a trucker, so nitro fuel is not as easy to get as just charging up a battery. Not many hobby shops I can take a 70+ ft truck to lol
Great truck ..great setup buy a AMERICAN TRANSMISSION! love how you put fuel on the rear 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼And that front bumper is 🔥🔥🔥
