Hello this was awesome video you did. Checking out all your gear and putting your gear in the kayak to see how it will fit. Can I recommend thing. For your small things I would get a 10-L dry bag and for your stove pots and pans and food I would get a 20-L dry bag for those. It makes it so much easy to pack. And I have a Ozark dry box that I picked up at Walmart I put my phone , keys , wallet , hand sanitizer , paddle gloves , sunglasses to put in the box you keep dry and not lose them. Works very well has not leak water since I had it in the last 4 years. I like how you had your clothes in the 20-L dry bag. That's what I have my clothes in too. I have a 5-L dry bag for a raincoat jacket & rain pants for when it rains while I'm kayaking on the river. The 5-L dry bag & my Ozark dry box I keep that in the kayak all the time I do not take it out the kayak. I also like to keep an extra pair of dry sandals in the kayak but I kayak barefooted 👣 because i have big very very wide feet sz15 6 EEEEEE wide with very fat wide toe that are equally straight across making my foot very very extremely wide and with my foot being 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe I barely and I mean barely can get the flip-flops to fit on my foot because my toes are wider than the flip flop straps. They do not make a shoe , sock , or boot that's wide enough for my foot so I just kayak barefooted 👣 cuz it's a lot easier for me and my flip-flops are still dry when I get to camp. But even when I get to Camp I still barefooted 👣. I am 95% of the time barefooted 👣 I only wear my flip-flops to work and to some big stores like Walmart , or grocery store. Small convenience stores , gas station , and some grocery stores I go to them Barefooted 👣. Back in June on Father's Day weekend I did a 24 Mile kayak trip barefooted 👣. I had a blast on this kayak trip. I went with a couple of co-workers , couple of close friends , and one of my sons. Kayak camping is so much fun. Apologize for this Being so long it was a good video and I just got to ramble. Thank you for sharing your video I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching, I am really excited to give it a try. That is crazy that you have to deal with that because of your feet. I will take your advice and get a couple more dry bags for sure!
@@fishlearnrepeat oh you're welcome and thank you for doing the video. Oh you will loved kayak camping man I love it myself. It is more awesome when you can do it with somebody though. Yeah my foot situation really really sucks. I cannot tell you how many times my wide feet has caused problems for me like trying to buy a sit inside kayak and got my foot stuck in the kayak barefooted 👣 and they almost had to call 911 to cut my foot out , in the stores people talking about how wide my feet are , and how fat my toes are , I even had a guy laughing and taking pictures of my toes because both of my little toes hang off the footbed of the flip-flops because my toes being very fat and very very wide and it does not help that my toes are equally straight across instead of being at a 45 degree angle like everybody else's toes. It's very very embarrassing sometimes because I had people ask me how did I make my toes be equally straight across the foot. I do not know how to answer that question besides I was born like that. But thank you man I appreciate that. Having a very extremely wide foot can be frustrating and embarrassing sometimes for me. I hope you can get your kayak camping trip on soon and I would love to see a video on it I know it's going to be fun and an awesome time.
It worked great for me that night. It is 4” and I’m a side sleeper. Anything less would have been horrible but it’s not as comfy as a full out air mattress
A friend of mine is talking about a 3 day trip down the Colorado in April. I've been real tempted to do it. I love camping. Problem is, all my camping gear is big stuff, meant for vehicle camping. Of which, I'm gonna be doing a camping/fishing trip on somerville soon.
Yeah it’s a different ball game when you have to downsize everything. I have a huge cabin tent too, def not kayak worthy. It’s weird too because the smaller the stuff gets the more expensive it is.
Kayak Camper here in ireland, the more you kayak camp the more you will reduce your gear. Great start though! Best wishes!
Thanks! What is your favorite piece you would never leave without?
I love my kelly kettle when I'm camping.

Hopefully you did the trip. For other people who read this comment, a canoe will hold the larger stuff. You can always rent one for a trip like this.
Awesome look into your gear. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching
