That's one thing that I really like about you. You use what makes sense, and not always trying to spend a bunch of money to just have the next best thing. Safe travels and adventures Trip!
Hey brother I'm so glad to hear that you're doing helpful and how to videos I love your adventures but you got such great experience and knowledge in your head it just needs to be shared with us. I'm sure I speak for many when I say we appreciate it and Luv ya man.
Olight just kills it. Bought two, one went through the wash the other I dropped in the lake, but got it back. Not to mention the multiple drops. Still perfect 👌
Excellent stuff here! You should do a video on that bug balm stuff. I've been wondering about that stuff and I'm sure others have too. In fact, you might do an update on all the latest bug gear before next summer!
Very cool to see a lot of your gear still in use after a couple years. I'm thinking the camera tripod just got added to my cart! I've been looking for one just like it.
@@PADDLECAMPFISH Yessir it is! I actually purchased mine after watching his videos a couple years ago. Stohlquist sells PFD's in REI if you need to go in for sizing, however they do not carry this model in stores and it is the one I would recommend.
Great information. We love following along with you on your adventures. You mentioned the UCO grill is no longer available. I recommend you check out the Bitty Big Q folding grill. It is made of high quality marine grade stainless steel. It deploys very quickly and folds up to a small size when not being used. It stores in its own bag.
Always enjoy getting to see the equipment that others are using. I have gone through so many dry bags through the years, and nearly every bag that I've trashed was because of broken snaps or buckles. I love that Sea to Summit bags have replaceable buckles. Also, on your solar rechargeable battery pack…how well does the solar recharging work? We are looking at a 5 day adventure, and like you, I have a lot of electronics. I am trying to decide between carrying several of the smaller battery packs, or actually purchasing something like the Voltaic complete kit like Pete uses. I am just not sure which would be best.
I haven't had a snap or buckle fail on me yet that I can recall... the S2S bags are super nice.... As for charging, I'd vote carry extra banks instead. You save space and maybe even weight if you are carrying the extra solar panels. Then you have to find the time and sun to charge them.... I have one of those folding solar panel chargers but I've never used it yet... Only if I were out for like 7 days might I consider bringing it.
Trip Smith I have had a couple of the buckle parts to crack. I probably stepped on them, or something crazy like that. 🤷🏻♂️😂 Yeah, I see your point about the weight and the trouble of the panels. We are planning a 5 day trip, I’ll have three DSLR batteries, three GoPro Hero Session 4s, about 7 cell phones (just using for pics), and possibly more electronics that I’ll need to charge. The sessions and a couple of the phones I will have to charge numerous times during the trip.
I’d like to see a review on your waterproof battery pack that does the wireless charging and charges with solar power. How long does it take to recharge? Looking for something for a six day trek along the west coast trail.
Great video, very helpful. I was born in Panama City and visit there once per year for summer vacations on the beach. I'm going to be doing some camping kayak adventures soon. How do you like the OUTXE Battery Bank? Also, I just started using a dry bag and have noticed that during the day it tends to sweat on the inside; is this a common occurrence with dry bags? I am enjoying your content, great idea to start sharing more "how to" and gear related videos!
Trip - Are water treatment facilities safe to paddleboard past if its along the river you are on? And I went through a beaver dam cause there was nowhere else to go because there was vertical walls on both sides of this portion - how would you go about these two situations? Luckily I love animals and am extremely respectful to nature so thank the powers above those 10 beavers didn’t attack me.
One of my favorite channels. I start out in the am with your videos and let them play all day until I get home at night. Hopefully I am helping with views. You are always in a good mood. The videos are relaxing too. 👍👍👍👍👍
I haven't.... and I've been on some adventures when things were wet for along while. If it were a 7-day trip with constant rain there could be an issue but I don't I'll see that. If I do I'll have a synthetic.
Sweet! It's been a while since you did a gear review. It's cool to see your new gear as well as the old gear you still use. Is that saw the same one you used on your pea river trip?
Yes it has been a while! I think it is the same one.... I have two that I've had since before I started paddling. One day I'll loose or break them and buy a new one lol
Woohoo! Thank you so much for your kind review. So happy you enjoy our effective and natural products!!
You are so welcome! Love your stuff, it's the only bug stuff that goes on every single trip....

👉 What gear should I add to my packing list? 🔦🗡📋⛺ Leave a comment and let me know! 👊
Have you ever used a “pad” instead of a underquilt? Also do you change your gear up when backpacking/hiking?
Great vid, love the gear stuff in addition to the adventures
