To all who watch this video, I strongly suggest you look up the other videos of this kid Josh Turner. He is a very versatile musician who performs a great variety of songs that always capture the essence of the original recording. He clearly is enjoying himself and so are the other performers. I would like to be able see him perform sometime in the near future.
I must agree heartily. I've been subscribed to him for the past year or so. Extremely talented young musician who has tapped into a wealth of talent from a younger generation than I. His collaboration on The Weight spanning so many different genres gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. Looking forward to hearing what the future brings from him.
Tony, I don't know if he has tried to write songs for himself. But he clearly is on his way to becoming a master musician. Additionally, the late Glen Campbell never wrote any successful songs, but he became a great guitarist ala his membership in "the Wrecking Crew" and given exposure on TV via the Smother Brothers which eventually got him his own show which lasted about 4 years and made him a household name.
Actually, he and Carson have some great songs together. I suggest you look up "The Levee", and "Flawed Recording". The two of them apparently have an LP coming out some time in the near future.
carson in the beginning: suicidal thoughts; carson when he comes in to sing: ringo's level of happiness when he got to sing on an album. you guys are amazing.
Thank you, Josh and Carson. This one has special memories for me that I’m going to ramble on about. In the summer of 1970, my dad took my brother (18) and I (20) to Norcross, Georgia for the funeral of his brother James.it was our first trip there and our first meeting with anyone on my dads side of the family. Dad was then the sole surviving of 5 brothers as well as the youngest. One of our cousins sang this song for us in honor of his dad. My precious dad and brother are both gone now.
Always so good. I'm 72 and have been playing guitar since my early teens, yet I'm so jealous of how good all you young people play. Burlington Bill busking from the road and home.
Hard to believe all of the Classic songs these guys seem to know by heart.. and seem to perform flawlessly. I listen because they sound fantastic and I continue to be impressed..
Carson is still quite a bit raw like Johnny Cash was but Josh has a much more refined voice and better control. Still, I love hearing them because of the diversity they do and they compliment each other so well. I loved Carson's version of "Folsom Prison Blues". That has been an all time favorite of mine from my band days with my brother. We did a really rocking version of it but I think I like Carson's hillbilly Rock version better.
@@jeffgaumond4250 Yep I've listened to it. Josh is touring in Europe soon with Reina Del Cid. I hope Carson is going along too. They make an excellent team. It is so cool to see our youth reworking our old classic rock, country, and folk music and playing it today. I was part of a band for a long time as rhythm guitarist and lead singer and we covered a lot of the songs these kids are doing today. Very cool to experience it being done with such diversity and professionalism
With 10 miles behind me and 10 thousands more to go .... I had the wonder experience watching James Taylor Downtown AucklandNew Zealand sometime in late 1980's. James must have lived a thousand life. No one can write lyrics like James does. At 60 plus years I still still teary eyes listening to this song and his other beautiful song You Can Close Your Eye. Kris Kristoffsen is another brilliant writer. Bobby Mcgee". I wish James could come to Malaysia for a concert.
These guys and their friends have an incredible passion for music and they manage to pass it on to all of us! Many thanks and a dear greeting from Italy!
The 67 odd people who dislike this I honestly feel for them. They no appreciation whatsoever for the guitar. The most simple and beautiful of all musical instruments
I can imagine Josh & carson sitting around a camp fire on a trail ride through the rockies , playing & singing songs like this one. Keep it up guys, we love it. 🤗🇺🇸🎵🎶
They are wonderful. James Taylor is one of my sweet fav artists and I adore this song but one thing I always feel is missing since this is usually just James and his guitar...is harmony. When I sing along for my own enjoyment I have always sung harmony to James's melody. You guys did a great job.
Whats wrong with the world, celebs snorting thought their noses fill the TV but these two guys 3 years on are not up there. These two lads and the two lasses plus some others do some of the best covers i've heard in 40 years. Thanks Josh
My dad used to be in a band and this was one of their specials along with Friends in low places. I got goosebumps listening to this. What memories it brought back sitting there and listening to them play. Holy crap dude
Please, Josh, let Carson sing. Just look at him, standing there all sad. The moment he starts to sing he lights up! You guys are awesome and I'm grateful I found out your channel a few years ago.
Danke, danke, danke.
This is the kinda tune that would come on the radio and my dad would know every word. I hear this and several of your covers and it brings back the best kind of memories of just knowing he wasn’t a great singer but he was as authentic a man as you would ever meet. Thanks for the memories.
I so appreciate your combination of extreme talent and lack of pretension. It gives me joy to listen to and watch these perfomances!!! Thank you for the joy.
Je ne me lasse pas de vous écouter. Il doit bien y avoir une raison à cela : votre bonheur à offrir vos voix à entendre nous va droit au cœur. Soyez-en remerciés.
Good to see you kids playing music I'm personally proud of you guys I played in a band in the 70s before video games this was our entertainment then the kids lost interest glad to see it come back .
The best notifications are Josh Turner channel notifications! Beautiful! I would love to hear you cover something by Bruce Cockburn.. All the Diamonds..... or anything really.
Your channel is absolutely one of my favorites. I can't praise you all enough for putting out such flawless songs, and covers of songs that at least do the originals great justice if not surpassing them completely in some cases. Thanks for the music, and please keep the videos coming. Everyone involved is amazing and so talented.
These two gentlemen when combined together are undeniably and incredibly super talented...each other by himself still amazingly outstanding performer...put them both in a group with Reina And Toni and Man you got a super entertaining ultimate mega talented band...!!!
Beautiful. You guys really put in the true feeling of the songs you play. The harmonizing is impeccable and singles out your very own style of playing. Great job guys.
Hey young dudes... i've been playing this song of JT's since I was in High School... I'm 64 years old now. Never have I had such fun listening to this song, than when you guys sang and made it your own... except of course, for when the man sang it himself. Keep it up dudes and if you're every near Evanston WY, or want to come out... let me know. I'll put you up and get a couple of gigs for you. Greats voices, great feel, great harmonies, and ain't too bad playing that Martin. Thanks so much. Keep it up, little Bros. Love it... played it through 5 times... and we'll I'm still playing it!
I've been following these guys for years.... and for me they're like two pieces of a wonderfully crafted wooden jigsaw... each piece with its own beautiful flowing lines and shapes in the wood grain... each a work of art in its own right. Then you put them together and the edges and curves interlock perfectly.... and the picture becomes complete.
Why do I love this Cowboy song, written and sung by some Damn Yankee? I don't know. Maybe, it's because many 'Cowboys' back in the day were "DAMN YANKEES". I guess it don't matter. Love the tune, and you guys did it wonderfully. 😍
You guys are so good....I'm sitting here in the Berkshires in my recording / mixing / mastering studio, 10 miles from James Taylor's home and you upload this great video of a great song. I need to see you guys live. Thank You!
You never cease to amaze me with the quality of the video photography, the richness of the audio and the talent of not only the singers, but of the instrumental players as well! James Taylor himself should be proud of you! I like the cut to the fig tree near the end, it kind of gave me the feeling you were taping in the Garden of Eden!
Man, the guy with the shirt and the glasses is amazing!!!
yeah the white guy is very talented
The one with the hair?
How about the one with dark hair?
That's funny. Both shirted, black-haired, bespectacled guys as filmed against the bush background sing in harmony very well. A sweet, simple tune.
The guy who is singing right?
Completely nailed James Taylor's voice. Beautiful.
they've both from NC, as far as I know
@@suebasko3865 They are talented
I'm 78 but, you take me back to my sixties Rock band days. You are MY FAVORITES. If the people walking by only knew what they were missing.
Pensé lo mismo. Nosotros, a la distancia, en cambio,
supimos parar a escuchar. Y descubrir este par de talentos.

The major criticism is he seems incapable of composing his own original songs which is a major drawback because that's where the money is.
Tony, I don't know if he has tried to write songs for himself. But he clearly is on his way to becoming a master musician. The beaver that was killed to serve as a microphone rests in peace after hearing this excellent rendition.
how did i miss two of my favourite current musicians covering one of my all time favourite james taylor songs?? heck
carson in the beginning: suicidal thoughts; carson when he comes in to sing: ringo's level of happiness when he got to sing on an album.
you guys are amazing.
What makes you think that Ringo wanted to sing? Did you ask him?

Their voices have matured and they sing beautifully. They harmonize as well as any singers I've ever heard. They are truly gifted young men.
I like how they trade vocal parts

Carson, with a big smile: "singing works just fine for me."
Authentic ... 'let me go down in my dreams..' 2 generations on .. JT indeed!!
Hard to believe all of the Classic songs these guys seem to know by heart.. and seem to perform flawlessly. I listen because they sound fantastic and I continue to be impressed..
Dude, they practice a lot too, you know....
Yeah, I really like the John Prine cover of "Paradise" that they do..
James Taylor 101. Basic for all guitarists.
This guy play the guitar not with his hand, but with his heart. That make his work beautiful
Carson Mckee has really developed a velvety quality to his voice as of late

This is a what makes for a great cover. It is the song as written with a new twist to it. That harmony opens a whole new side of it.
