Thanks, appreciate the pointers. Ive got to say though, I am jealous of where your able to put your hands on the wheel. Im barely able to get into the vehicle. I cannot possibly hold the wheel from the bottom.
Is it possible to turn off the annoying one-touch turn signal feature? In a driver training situation the feature causes immense confusion for learner drivers when they accidentally turn it on and it stays on for 3 flashes. They try to cancel - but it's not really on, and so they turn it on in the other direction, than try to cancel again, etc, etc. Many mainstream brands allow you to turn it off as a user setting. Is it something that can be done by a Toyota technician in the workshop? I've heard that a technician can change it to from 3 flashes to 5 or 7 - but I really need it to be switched off. Other than that it's a great car for driver training.
Hi there! Thank you for this comment. I am sure that many people can relate to this as they have started driving or bought a new vehicle. This is absolutely a customizable feature that can be changed by a Toyota technician. For example, the flash options for the 2021 Corolla sedan are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or OFF. Keep in mind that these options may differ depending on your model and year. I hope this helps!
Hi there! Thanks for the comment :) You can play music when the engine is off by pressing the engine start button once without your foot depressed on the brake pedal. This puts this vehicle in Accessory mode and allows radio and auxiliary use only! Yes, terrific point! I do mention this in another video, but still nice to point out!
Hi Tony! This is an exciting find! I use this feature in combination with my defrost to help melt off my vehicle in the mornings (gotta love Canada!). Super handy for clearing the ice off the wipers! Thanks for your comment!
Hi Sufyan! Thanks for the great comment! The PCS is part of your Toyota Safety Sense and is therefore separate from the functions of the cruise control. Your PCS is active as long as the vehicle is traveling faster than 10km/hr. Ensure your PCS is switched ON in your settings menu of your multi-information display (you may also adjust the sensitivity of the PCS in these settings as well!). Hope this helps!
Hello friends, I have a 2019 Toyota Corolla petrol version. Occasionally, when I brake, an "A" symbol appears on the panel, and the car seems to go into standby mode. When I press the accelerator pedal again, it appears to restart. I'm confused about this feature and would appreciate any guidance on the matter.
I believe you are referring to the Stop & Start Engine System, learn more about it from our video: ruclips.net/video/rqzDVXDUNbM/видео.htmlsi=sbph6N6Cr6Dtf17a
Hi Rhos! On cars and some SUVs equipped with sport mode, the button will say SPORT and will be located near and around the gear shift (either above or below the gearshift). In the odd case, I will find it located to the left of the steering wheel. In the C-HR, the sport mode option is under Drive Modes in your settings menu on the MID (screen in front of the steering wheel). In most of the trucks and Highlanders, there should be a DRIVE MODES dial or switch below the gearshift and that rotates between sport, normal, and eco mode. Please note that some vehicles are not equipped with a sport mode option :) I hope this helps! Thanks for your comment :)
I'm not sure if this same option is available, but on Canadian vehicles, on the multimedia display, press Menu, then Setup, then General, staying in General, scroll down, and you should see the option "Units of Temperature," which you can choose either F or C.
Your opinion, please: Which car (a) has the generally better ride quality and (b) the quietest cabin? I refer to the 1.8 Corolla v the equivalent Prius - what say you folks?
Button options differ not only on different Toyota models, but also the different trim packages within the different models, ex. Corolla SXE will have different options than a Corolla LE.
Thanks so much for the review...2020 le is my next whip but I'm wondering if it's possible locking the doors when you temporarily step out of the car while the engine is still running
Hi Kofi! Thanks for taking the time to comment! You can lock the doors temporarily while the engine is running, but only if you manually use the keyhole located on the driver's side door handle. If you purchase a vehicle that requires a key to turn the ignition, you must use the spare key to manually lock the vehicle using the driver side keyhole after all doors are shut. If you purchase a vehicle with a smart key system (push button start), you can remove the built-in key from the fob and manually lock the vehicle using the driver side keyhole after all doors are shut. In both cases, this is the only way to lock the doors while the engine is running as the vehicle prevents accidental locking of keys and as a safety feature to alert drivers that the vehicle is still running. Congratulations on your upcoming purchase!
Hi Stephen! If your vehicle comes equipped with these lights, they are part of the headlight system. If you have your headlights turned on OR if you have your lights on AUTO at night, they will automatically turn on with the headlights for driver convenience. There is typically no ON or OFF switch in the settings for this feature. Thanks for your comment!
If you mean an indicator to check the life of your vehicle's battery, there is not a system in the vehicle that can display this. Toyota recommends to have your vehicle's battery checked through your local Toyota service department at least once a year.
Thank you for your inquiry, may you elaborate on your question? What type of model are you inquiring about, as well as are you referring to the outside temperature display option? or how to change the temperature inside of the vehicle?
Hi Zana, are you referring to Cruise Control? If so, here is a link to the video I made on how to operate this feature :) ruclips.net/video/3yhVo7HAjAs/видео.html

Push this dial in with your finger to alternate between Trip A, Trip B, and total odometer read. Push and hold this dial to clear Trip A or Trip B odometer readings. I also have a video on this exact question if you require a visual explanation: ruclips.net/video/H1Zu5GT_ojA/видео.html
Hi Roger! I totally appreciate your concern. I realize it is not the same, but it may help you if you are looking for a signal that it is off. Keep in mind, the traction control is always ON as a default when you start your vehicle. Thanks for your comment!
Thanks for your comment! To completely turn off cruise control, you will use the same button that turns the feature on. If your cruise control adjustments are on the steering wheel, click the button with a car and speedometer icon. If your cruise control adjustments are on a stalk behind the steering wheel, click the button on the very end of the stalk. Hope this helps!:)

I hate the Corolla Hybrid. I needed to tell Toyota service my mileage. I could not get the screen to tell me the mileage. I could not find Odo. It is stuck on Trip A. The tech on this car is way too frustrating. I don't need to go back to the manual to find out. The manual was no help either. So, I find myself on youtube. I also need to reach all the way over the screen to scan radio stations when the former regular corolla allowed this from the wheel. Tech is supposed to make things easier. Toyota fails. Now this RUclips video did not cover this. It's been an hour to find this out so far.
Hi Stacy! Thank you for taking the time to comment. If you pause at 1:49 on the video, you will notice a thin black dial on the dash in between the speedometer and the display screen. Push this dial in with your finger to alternate between Trip A, Trip B, and total odometer read. Push and hold this dial to clear Trip A or Trip B odometer readings. 5:00 Only 1, 2 or 3 car lengths distance, while driving! What a useless feature. It's not even legal to drive that close to other vehicles! In Australia, our road rules list and example of a minimum safe travelling distance being eight or nine car lengths, when travelling at sixty kilometres per hour (thirty seven miles per hour). Three car lengths is only good if people are driving through a car park. In which case they won't be using cruise control. 6:15 Automatic lane guidance is a bit of a gimmick. I've been driving a Corolla with lane guidance. It's not very accurate. It relies on there being a great contrast between the lines on the road and the road itself, for the camera to detect the lines. If I accidentally drive onto a solid white line, the automatic lane guidance tends to pull me further in that direction, instead of steering me away from it. If I turn on the left indicator, and there's a broken line to the left, with another lane, the car tends to pull in towards that lane too.
