Hello mate, I think my cdi has packed up. I've tested my coil with a multi meter using this video as reference and all seems fine however im unsure how to test the cdi itself. I don't suppose you know how to test one and the number ranges for a healthy working one? Thanks in advance.
At 3:50 - I think that my RM had a little rubber bit to go between the CDI unit and the metal frame. It is really testing my memory because I sold my RM nearly 15 years ago. Love the videos. So cool to see the amazing work that you are doing to restore this bike.
I pulled my bike apart in the off season (not to the extent that you have) and washed everything with soapy water, touched up the paint, lubed and re-assembled. When I saw this video I just thought that the rubber bit was something the previous owner threw in there. Your rebuild is absolutely incredible! I am having such regret that I sold my RM but am thoroughly enjoying watching these videos.
Love the videos, your doing a great job restoring that beast, i was wondering where you got your manual from as i have an 92 rmx250, which is supposedly the same as the 92 rm but cant seam to find one anywhere.
@@matthewburns6843 Thanks a lot, I did follow the service manual and I was running 20:1 premix so every time I ride I had to change the spark plug until I realized the thing 32:1 lol.
G9Garage I tried heating the hub but it didn’t work I also tried with a flat head screw driver and it can’t get enough purchase because of the spacers Thanks for replying!
Hmm, tough one. I bet the bearings have been in there since new! Might be worth investing in a bearing puller kit. From memory they aren't too expensive. Mine's just a cheap one from ebay i think and it works ok.
Can't wait to see this beast finished. Keep the vids coming!!!
Thanks for the encouragement!
From watching your videos I learned a lot I got a 94 RM 250 and I'm going to rebuild it
Awesome vid once again!! Keep it up is all I can say
Cheers from Mexico mate, great rebuild waiting for the next vid, keep up the good work

You are 100% correct! If you keep watching the series you'll see that CDI removed again ;)

What are the colors of the wires that come out of the motor

I baught a 96 rm 125 2 stroke today, you can take the current spark plug to your local auto parts store and they will match it!!

Hi, what's the spark plug?
Wouldn't happen to have a spare cdi box by chance would you?
Ebay has tons
Any tips on how to pull wheel bearings without a bearing puller
Try heating the hub around the bearing and then try tapping them out from the other side with a punch or maybe a big flat blade screw driver...
