I got mugged and beat close to death a few years ago. Try to remember it's really unlikely to ever happen again, especially now that you're more situationally aware and learning how to make yourself less of a target.

Anything can happen anywhere. But living in a huge city we need to be extra careful. Lock that door as soon as you get into the car. Don’t be on your phone just surfing the internet. Do that at home. Always be aware of your surroundings. Carry mace. And trust your gut.

This video came at such a perfect time! I moved to la 2 weeks ago and have been door dashing. I always try to get in before it gets dark because those Critters don’t know how to act esp at night! I’m glad you’re doing better. I pray God continues to heal you and gives you mighty strength to keep going 🤍 also I do the same thing when approached by a random person unexpectedly. As females, we can’t be too nice and friendly in that case because that can sometimes send off the wrong impression. If your back is turned and thats when they choose to approach then that to me is a red flag and you have every right to defend yourself! Sending you lots of hugs and healing! 🤗

How is it door dashing in LA? I’ve been trying to decide if I’ll door dash when I get there

@@RashawnJanae Not my fav but it was getting me by. My cons would be trying to find parking since most of the restaurants are on a main road or busy street. Also, a lot of apartment drop offs and most of them request you to go into the apt building and drop it off at their door which is fine but again with parking and the code box sometimes causes problems. I switched over to Uber eats because I’ve had some customers not tip at all which Is absurb after sitting in all that traffic, to get their food to them in a safe and timely manner. Uber includes tip and I noticed most people do Uber eats!

@@Naomiarena ok cool I’ll keep that in mind. Definitely depends on area, I think postmates is more prevalent in LA, and Uber now owns them. It’s good you found what works. Door dash is better for my area.

If you're coming from a city like LA your already paranoid lol 😆. People from Chicago Detroit Oakland St Louis Memphis etc etc. They'll fit right in with the needed survival skills in LA.

9:25 I don't give a hoot about being "rude". I do what I gotta do to be and feel safe. If someone gets offended, that's their problem.

You weren't being rude, your senses are in high alert and you should put safety first. I haven't been in that situation and I would've reacted the same way. Besides folks shouldn't be out after dark soliciting anything in parking lots.

Thanks for the tips! My son moved to LA 8 months ago from Illinois, I constantly tell him to be vigilant. His girlfriend is from San Diego and they took their new scooters to somewhere in a park in Santa Monica, they rode them for awhile then decided to park them at a bike rack and lock them up. Well someone stole them in broad daylight with tons of people around.. Someone was watching. It's really scary, I worry about him all the time, as he has no family there either.. I'm going to pass along this video and tips to him. Very sorry you were robbed, sounds scary, but thank God you are OK. Like you said things can be replaced a life can't. I just visited him and we drove by Echo Park, as we went to eat at a Korean restaurant. You never know...

I just came across your channel as I spend my Friday night watching RUclips vids about moving to LA. I also have a RUclips channel and we both have about the same amount of subscribers. Speaking of which I need to start making some more RUclips videos again I have been strangely addicted to TikTok.
I’ve been there several times to visit, and I am very well aware of the Hollywood area and the walk of fame everyone thinks it’s glamorous but it’s not in the best area. I know this is gonna sound crazy, but the only reason I want to move to LA is the weather. I am 50 years old, and still not giving up on my dreams, financial goals etc. I am sort of an introvert and work from home. Thanks for the video, I will be binge watching more of your videos ❤
