I bought a second hand Serger. This is the best Tutorial, I’ve come across. They way you film the video, the tips and the advice you gave, are so clear. You enabled us to clearly see each step of threading the machine. I’m not scared of my machine. I now feel more confident threading my machine. Thank you very much, it’s very much appreciated😌.
I recently bought a used Singer Ultralock 14u234 and I am very grateful this video exists. I ran into problems today & just sat & watched, paused & threaded until I had it working again. A very helpful tool, lots of details (some of which I had completely missed), great filming & tips. Ever so thankful. These sergers were very well made & should stay in use.
Built like a tank & works very well. Probably 40 years old. When I bought it for $50. Canadian I intended to learn how to use a serger then upgrade, but there is no reason to do that. It must have been well maintained by the original owner & I clean & oil after every finished garment. Without this threading video, however, I probably would have mortgaged the house & bought a self-threading new one LOL.@@matthias9379
I don't own an overlocking machine 😪 but I was fascinated with your tutorial - one of the best machine demonstrations I have seen - great job. No irritating music either. Best wishes from Ireland.
Bought 134A version in 1993 but was so intimidated by it and the booklet supplied with it was not exciting to go through 🤣and I stopped sewing....28 years later, I pulled it out and it was seized....with some tutorials, I figured out how to open and oiled parts and rocked hand wheel knob... 2 days later, and I gave the top shaft bit holding needle bar a sharp thwack and it budged😳I had been watching this video of your over and over and your threading instructions are so clear and easy to follow!!! All your videos are!!!! So 30 years down the road and I'll finally thread and use this beauty.... thank you so much for all your videos...so valuable!!!!
Thank you soooooo much!!! My Auntie died and left me this serger and a sewing machine and I was very intimidated by it. Thanks for making it clear and simple.
I've owned a 14U since 1990. I quit sewing when I went to work in 1997 and put the serger up. After watching your video, I am going to pull it out, oil it, and start using it again. Thank you very much for the tutorial!
You were amazingly detailed. I was avoiding threading my machine because I’ve always heard threading sergers as super complicated to thread, but with your video I was able to get it on the first run! Thank you for taking the time to put this together.
Thinking of buying one for my wife and wanted to check it out. I don't sew at all but I admire the quality of your video. The production levels are fabulous. Thank you.
Thank you for taking time when the manufacturer wouldn’t. I have a Singer 14u85 (no manual) that I bought at Goodwill here in the USA. Had it for years not being able to find a video on how to thread it. Your video saved the day! It is very similar and I was threading the needles first plus had the thread wrong before it went through the tension disc. Now to start over.
Thank you for all your help, having spent 3 hours! with the book I was about to give up but then remembered You Tube and wished I had come across you sooner. Just brilliant and all sorted. Thank you once again.
I used this to thread my singer overlock 14U64a and there were just some very slight differences which were easy to figure out. Great camera work and easy to follow instructions. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for posting this video! I inherited my mom’s serger and was struggling to thread it using the manual. You made the gruelling process so much easier. Much appreciated!
Amazing and easy to watch video. I just purchased this machine secondhand and I have never had a serger before. I was dreading threading it. Your video was so easy to follow and I appreciate it so much!
I own the Singer Ultralock 14u34b, which is the four spool base model of this particular line, and I love how well it serges my stuff. I got very lucky buying it for $100.00 Canuck bucks in 2020 (mine is a late 80's vintage), and that thing rips through anything I put to it's feed dogs and gets it done like a champ. I had to learn to thread it because I wanted to give it a good clean and oil, and stupidly removed all the spools and threading. But, once you get the hang of it, it's not all that difficult, save for the two small dealies that go under and over while the needles stitch. Those are no joke for arthritic hands and poor eyesight.
Your video is the best I have ever watched!!! Thank you, I was given this serger without an instruction book, this video made threading a breeze, thanks to you and your tips I am on my way to serving!!!
Thank you so much for this!! Recently purchased this model secondhand with no manual. Easy to understand instructions, came out perfectly on the first go! Thank you
Wow great camera, what an excellent view ! Thanks a lot, I have this serger for 6 years now and I have never been able to tread it. I'm sure now I'll enjoy it. Thanks again
This is an amazing demonstration ,I scored this serger on marketplace for 20 dollars in an authentic serger leather bag ,tons for spare parts manual and even the original receipt .. It seems to be in excellent working condition .. I just wanted to get myself familiar with it and the threding process etc !
Well it 0255 and I did it. I threaded my machine. The most difficult part was threading the needles. I did thread I think the lower looper? Wrong. Anyway the yellow one. So I cut the thread near the spool sorted the problem then knitted the spool bread to the one I was rethreading the yellow thread. Now I know what to do when changing thread colours lol. Thank you so much for your great video. Now all I need to do is sew with the machine and see if I need a new knife or not.
I have a similar machine and it has stood the test of time. At the moment I'm struggling to replace the needles! Can't seem to master that. A video on that would be brilliant! Thank you.
@@InStitches Thank you! I did manage it, it only took me 2 days! I discovered I didn't have the screw all the way open! But I still think a video on some of these intricate things would be very helpful!
