    If Sasaki is posted (a BIG if), he will most likely to come to the Dodgers. There are several reasons for this, but nothing is perhaps as big as the fact that they are the only team that will be certain to put him in a 6 man rotation, which Sasaki is most comfortable with right now. Dodgers can do this, partly because Ohtani is listed as a two-way player, so that carrying an extra SP is not a burden for their bullpen. Other reasons include his camaraderies with Ohtani and Yamamoto, the NHK broadcasting mostly only Dodger games in foreseeable future, and LA being an easy place for Japanese to live in.

    Yes, Roberts should have punted game 3 of the 2017 World Series once we got down because there were two games left. I remember him using all the leverage guys leading to a game 5 collapse. I don’t know how much it had to do with sign stealing or fatigue in that game 5 where every reliever blew it.
    Roberts got a better rotation in 2024 because he got a better start from Buehler in game 3 than Darvish in game 3 in 2017. The Dodgers also faced an easier team in 2024 than in 2017. Schmidt was easier to hit in game 3 than McCullers in 2017.
    What Roberts did in game 3 in 2017 would have been okay, but the Dodgers couldn’t hit that guy in both games 3 and 7.

    @laartwork 10 дней назад

    I guaranteed Yamamoto and wasn't surprised.
    I should be interviewed.
    Here is my take on Soto.
    The Dodgers barely won. Padres had historic choke.
    Then only a walk off grand slam and historic bad inning otherwise it's 3-2 Yankees.
    Did you forget last season, the season before. The complaining this year.
    Soto is Ted Williams (Great and bad) his fWAR is insane for someone not yet in his prime.
    He goes to right. Betts to second and Lux traded.
    Soto is replacing Lux in the lineup.
    You keep him away from Mets Padres or Yankees.
    You do not want to face him in the post season.
    He gives the Dodgers 4 hall of famers and if they dominate for 10 years the Dodgers organization doubles in value from 5 billion to 10 billion (the real reason the owners sign players and want to win).
    If he was a bad teammate or caused bad team chemistry you think the Yankees would be offering 600 million?
    Can the Dodgers afford him. Yup it's 600 million over 14 years. It is totally different yearly than Ohtani.
    In 5 years when bunch of players are averaging 50 million a year Soto will be a bargain.
