I've never liked the Dodgers but I do love this team. Like, how I like the Royals team that won the championship. You can feel the team chemistry and that they all respect and like each other. Tons of humility on the team. They play for team and not self and that made it fun to watch.

Very cool to learn that Dave Roberts challenged Walker Buehler in front of the whole team and due to their relationship, Walker responded positively. Roberts knows his players and how to push them. Even recommending to guys to modify their approaches in the batting cages to focus on hits (not specifically home runs) - we saw how that played out. It worked.

Seeing how all the players went about their business every day and getting to know their character on and off the field - respect! And then there's Dave Roberts. For me what separates a great manager from the rest is the ability to "feel" the moment - to know when to pull a pitcher or leave him in - whatever the analytics say. I can't imagine a better manager for this team .

Crazy a man named Mookie Wilson hit a grounder to 1st base to help tie a World Series game in 1986. The ⚾️ went under Bill Buckner’s legs. Mookie Betts in 2024 a ground ball to Rizzo at 1st base had same eerie result.

Dave Roberts was phenomenal all postseason.
How he threaded the needle in Game 5 was incredible. I don’t know how he did it but he did.
Best managerial job ever from Dave.

Loved the Dodgers team this season. When the superstars didn't perform, it was so exciting to see others step up! It was a team effort. Well done, Mr Roberts.

This is where everything flips for Doc. Sports are so overwhelmingly mental, and baseball most of all. The respect he’s earned across the league and media for handling the injuries and players this season and getting the chip, combined with how he’s always been loved as a person, has earned him Phil Jackson type buy in with players.
Now, when he says something to a player or the team in seasons to come, they will fully believe. And because they fully believe, they will succeed. It’s such a difficult status for a coach/manager to achieve that very, very few do. When they do though, it usually leads to a dynastic run.

I can proudly say I’ve loved Doc since day 1. You can tell first few yrs, it was a group effort between the FO and Dave managing games. I think they always knew he’d be a great players mgr, but they let him learn a lot on the job, and he’s been dang near perfect. I grew up in the Lasorda days. Doc is on Dodger Mt Rushmore with Lasorda,Jackie,Sandy,Tommy,Kersh, etc. He WILL be known as the GOAT ALL TIME MLB MGR WHEN ITS ALL SAID AND DONE. Mark my words….

Finally the Fire Doc talk can be put to rest! He is clearly the best manager in baseball. He has the highest winning percentage and has never missed the postseason. He deserves to manage the Dodgers until he is ready to retire.

So many managers are so ill tempered and unlikeable. Roberts seems like such a decent, kind human being in addition to being a highly intelligent manager. Great combination and it makes him very likeable.
