Putting betts at short again is just irrational. He was terrible at short but better at second. With guys like the Kims available who can play short far better than Betts or play second far better than any of the in house options, it is just silly and arrogant to put betts at short. This wouldn't be a great selling point for sasaki knowing the middle infield is shaky defensively, and you can be certain other teams, including SD, will let him know about it. Sometimes the smartest organization in the league does dumb things ($17 million for conforto being another).

Mookie at SS makes no sense. He even said leaving the position gave him a good breath and could be more at ease. We all could see him struggling not only in the field but that pressure was even taxing his batting. If they don't see/trust Lux at SS then trade him and go get one or both of the HS Kims.
