Wow, James Spader is so underrated by the public, but so well-regarded in the industry.
Is he underrated? I think he has a pretty stellar reputation as a character actor, isn't "The Blacklist" still going on too?
@@DodaGarcia He's well known in television but not that well in blockbuster movies. But no worries though because fortunately The Blacklist has million of views per episode, and they still come out with new episodes this year.

People criticise Ultron as a villain but I loved him. James Spader's voice was perfect. One of my favourite MCU villains. Brilliant
I still wish he had made it past 1 movie. The mix between brute force. Extremely high intellect and this childlike curiousity but not to the point where you couldnt take him seriously, was perfect

Andy Serkis has now become a veteran in motion capture gig. It's really great to see him as himself not as a CGI character.

He'll probably have the sonic arm by the end of the film. Would love for him to become a completely sound based lifeform by the end their as well like he became in the comics.
TheCreationist1 mcu won't go that far with the character. it's too soon but, I think he's going to be the villain in the Black Panther movie with a relatively ordinary sonic arm.

I just meant that over the course of the film that being the ultimate conclusion to this leg of the character's arc. That he winds up a sonic lifeform near the end.
A "flew too close to the sun" type of deal.

I thought they really captured a part of ultron when he first came out in his crappy form on the Avengers tower, it was actually quite scary and dark.

Amazing the range of characters that Spader has played over the years. Hard to believe that Raymond Reddington and Daniel Jackson were played by the same actor given how completely different the characters are.
James Spader is awesome. You can see him even through the cgi. His movement and gesture is kinda unique.
I agree, he was great in stargate and I think he was excellent in Lincoln.
James Spader is so so talented. I watched The Blacklist before I watched AOU, and I'm never not excited to hear his voice and see him act. He deserves an oscar.

That's the most insane and greatest idea I have ever heard. Now I'll be seriously bummed if it never comes to pass, because it would be beyond epic. Spader being all dark and intimidating. Maybe she doesn't really know at first. But the voice triggers something in her. Spader acting all nice and neighborly at first.

I remember when it was announced that Spader was gonna play Ultron, perfect actor with the right tone of voice that already sounded like a villain. I only wished Ultron had his saga instead of just one movie, like how they build up Thanos and now Kang the Conqueror.
100% agreed, Ultron in the comics is supposed to be Avengers Arch Enemy and Best Villain, and the movie doesn't establish that at all.

Very true. I loved the movie & all the characters but my only complaint was the lack of a better fight between Ultron & the Avengers. It was just his minions against them & I was slightly dissapointed

So... according to the title of this video, there is supposed to be something on how James Spader crafted Ultron. All I saw was how the tech was done and how some actors like Spader. I'm still waiting for Spader to tell us how he crafted the character, made him real via acting and mental state....

Spader can be on set with a hundred other actors and somehow still out act them . Talented man
James Spader is always great
James Spader brings eclectic characters to life in a fashion few others can do. He made the base concept of Ultron have a complex but dark nature, and consciousness yet an inability to understand human emotion. Many movies have fallen flat when they made a "giant badguy robot" in a fashion that is so poorly executed that it is almost comical. IMO James Spader did a good a job with Ultron as Heath Ledger did with Joker, and complex characters as such make action movies just as engaging as they are entertaining.
I'd say unwillingness to understand human emotion due to his unabashed understanding of the human experience, (i.e. Humans are a disease) sort ot thing.
James Spader to Ultron is like Leto's Joker, he failed to capture what makes Ultron great such as his Ruthlness, Darkness, Creepiness, Threating Nature, Intelligence, Strategy etc.
He is nothing like Ultron whatsoever just like how Leto's Joker is garbage too.

Ultron had pretty good dialogue written most of the time but his story wasn't very well written imo, but writing aside, James Spader has a perfect voice for Ultron

Mark Ruffalo too. He got really experienced in Avengers 1, especially concerning the specific method used in the MCU. In fact he coached Josh Brolin while he was playing Thanos. They're friends and Josh was intimidated by the thought of playing a mocap character, but Mark talked him into it
Spader is a gem
This movie was actually great idk why people dislike it so much.
It is good, I enjoy it. But objectively it aged better after Infinity War/Endgame make it feel more like foreshadowing rather than it being a 2 hour commercial for future movies.
the only bad thing that comes to my mind about this movie was Marvel studios trying to force brutasha...
Because the Avengers was a climax. It was a 5 movie buildup and surpassed everybody's expectations. This movie, despite being objectively better, did not meet people's expectation. Everyone expected to feel the same emotional height that the first movie brought, but it just wasnt possible given the circumstances.
Also poor marketing helped mismanage these expectations.
I REALLY hope they bring him back sometime. Spader is AMAZING.
