The picture of Yuri Gagarin is actually a photograph of Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space. Their pictures and appearances are similar as well as their missions being only a couple years apart, so many people get their photos muddled up.

There's this stretch of road on the outer fringe of my university that people used to speed on (I'm talking 60-90 mph). So the university put in speed bumps similar to the ones on the left at 3:48. Those speed bumps are INVISIBLE for 90% of the day and the university didn't properly mark them which makes them even harder to detect! Their solution was to put cones on the dividing lines of the road but the road is so narrow that you're forced to maneuver around them but there are cars parked on both sides of the road. One time me and my friends were coming back from a friend's house late at night and my friend who was driving took that side road to get us back to our dorms. He was going about 40 by the time we reached the intersection and the speed limit prior to us entering the university grounds was 35. 50 yards into the road and we take on AT LEAST 5 feet of air and slam back down causing my friend to shortstop once we landed. Apparently they needed to remove the cones due to street sweepers and FORGOT to put them back.

The Challenger (OV-099) was actually destroyed by Aerodynamic Forces before the visible Explosion of the External Tank.
Technically the Orbiter experienced an Explosion when the Fuel Tanks in the Reaction Control System were compromised, the Orbiter had already been torn apart.

The scientists who trained her decided to take the name Felix and use the more feminine, French version. Félicette. (Fell-ih-set) But the was part is that two months after she had her journey, she was Euthanized because French scientists wanted to study her brain and how going into space affected it. She now has a statue in France which has her On top of earth, looking up to the stars.

I never knew about this alternate timeline, and frankly I wish I'd never found out. I grew up on Sesame Street, so the notion that they would've had to explain why he blew up would've fucked up my childhood. It was bad enough when Mr. Hooper died, but at least he didn't get blown the fuck up because NASA decided to go cheap on some O-rings.
I mean, realistically it would've been better than some rando guy in a bird suit died than a beloved teacher, but at this point it's now a choice I could never make, and I made the choice in the 'throw the train switch to kill one guy to save five guys on the other track line' experiment in a heartbeat.
