Yeah that’s why many don’t like Hikky. He seemed mellowed out the couple past year, but when I hear stories on how he behave when he was junior, everyone seemed to have their Hikaru moments.

Fans don’t realize that pros in competition like each other as people more than they like their fans. They’re passionate about the same thing, had similar upbringings, and now make a living doing the same thing. They can relate to each other more than anyone else. Fans are just how they make their money. Fans just make up rivalries because they want to belong to a tribe
It is. Pretty much in highest paid tournaments there are always the same 20 people. And they won't play lower rated tournaments which they would lose a ton of rating for a loss. Keep in mind that a 2400 player would beat a super GM if given a superior position, they are good. If you have a bad day and lose against a fellow Super GM, it's ok, happens. If you lose against 2400 that's bad.
