I'm still coming to terms that The Review Crew has decided to box the Joe model, but knowing that they also included a "self-resurrect" subroutine, it's all good. 😉
Cool, yet strange seeing cylons in the CAP. Further indication of just how integrated the cylons and humans have become. This subplot is among my favorites in the series. I applaud the writers for going down this route because I don't think anyone at the beginning of the series thought that this is where the cylons and humans would end up. A couple of interesting deleted scenes for this episode which reveal that the marines are spread thin and are protecting vital elements of the ship. In the deleted scenes, a group of marines is handing out the food, become overwhelmed and abandon the food. Once they do, the Sons of Ares move in with guns and take it from the civilians. This scene also explains what Caprica was doing in Dogsville. She has nausea and went to get holistic medicine from a woman living in the camp. Afterwards is when Adama, Lee, and Roslin have a meeting talking about how few marines there are too serve as protection for civilians and it's here where Lee makes the suggestion that they bring centurions to patrol the ship. Adama vehemently rejects the idea, then get the call about the raptor carrying Ellen; the scene ends. So this does shed some light on Adama's decision to give guns to Baltar's people. There's also an extended conversation between Ellen and Tigh post-sex, where Ellen asks Saul why he killed her. All told, there's enough good material in the deleted scenes that I'm surprised they didn't make it an extended episode for the boxset release. Also, a fun blink and you'll miss it cameo from the show's composer, Bear MCreary.
Tigh and Adama's friendship is so nice, it really survived everything including him turning out to be a Cylon. Tigh's arc is phenomenal, his acting is on pair with it and some of his lines in this episode are hilarious. If any of you a gamer I highly recommend the game with the same name ( Deadlock ). It has several different campaigns all set around the first Cylon War and it's loaded with a lot of great lore.
Yeah the subtitles frakked up. That wasnt Athena at Sam's bedside when Ellen finds out about the baby, its a random 8 just like the Six present was a random Six. Athena would never consider leaving the fleet.
The hip flask is one of many sublte nods that Adama is struggling to keep it together himself. Resorting to drugs and alcohol to keep himself going. Contrast that to Tigh who we first saw for near 2 seasons walking around with a flask or mug or some drink to keep himself going and he has managed to move past it. Adama was stright and sober keeping Tigh, the alcoholic in line. Now it is flipping with Tigh being the stright and sober man and Adama being the alcoholic.
Did you guys miss the part where Cavil manipulated the Five's minds before sending them to live among the humans? Ellen got a reset when she died. What we saw after she resurrected is the real her. Who noticed that Six's baby started moving around the time Anders' brain activity stopped and it started after the baby died? Coincidence? Mike gets a cookie for the piano observation. Kudos to Joe for the Galactica observation. Galactica represents the crew. Crewmembers die, but as long as Galactica lives, they never really die (remembrance wall). Don't forget Six's Head Gaius.
As Mike says, this is kind of a "love" space opera episode. As enjoyable and well-acted as it is the Tigh, Ellen and Caprica triangle feels a little inconsequential so near the end. Still I enjoyed it a lot. Also I always like seeing Balter, in this case, preach his BS on the fly. Some also funny lines about pianos, dead women, and related power sanders.
28:02 It was never expressly confirmed by the producers/writers that Billy would have been one of the Final Five. The plan to introduce the Final Five did not come together until the latter half of Season 3 - long after the actor left and Billy was killed off - when the writers realized they needed to bring out the last five Cylons in as quickly and easily a way as possible without ret-conning a whole bunch of stuff, like why were none of them seen during the occupation of New Caprica. The plan at the start was to have 12 numbered models with each being revealed periodically. That is what caused the whole 'Skipping over Number 7' issue in the first place - the writers assumed they would have the opportunity to introduce a Number 7 at some point in the series. But when David Eick and Ron Moore made the decision that the series would end after Season 4 when they were already through the first half of Season 3 put pressure on the writers to come up with a way of explaining away the last five Cylon's absence to that point. In reality, neither Tigh nor Tyrol should have been ret-conned into Cylons. But the writers needed characters the audience knew and cared about when the whole Final Five plan was introduced. Just because Tory was made one of the Five (as a convenient secondary character who was known to the audience and close to the office of the President) doesn't mean Billy's character would have been used the same way were the actor still around. You cannot make that assumption and the writers/producers have never stated that was their intention.
"all cults end up here" kinda yea lol we did have the cruesades after all, so if the big ones resort to it i guess its logical all the small ones would mimic them haha
Heyyyy KOOL-AID!!😱 (IYKYK) Cults, am I right? 😁 Guys... 5 + 7 = 12 Math better (there is no 8th "created" cylon skinjob). Don't bother trying to square the stated model numbers to their iorigin dentity. 😎
Quit beating that dead horse. Starbuck is not a Cylon. I told you that the Daniel scenario was due to a miss count. Instead of 12 they counted backward from 13. The sharons were the last ones built so the writers called them 8s by mistake. They filmed the miniseries and parts for some episodes before the mistake was discovered- too late to change it, so they had to come up with the missing number 7. 13 minus the final 5 = 8. There shouldve only been 12 and the Sharons shouldve been 7s, but once you shoot episodes calling her an 8, its too late, so you have to explain it away later.
i would say in the whole series i love every single episode..... except this one. i really just hate how it's written and acted and everything. oh well. one bad episode out of 80 is pretty good :)

Boxing isn't permanent....not like the daniels
I love this comment.
@@screamr2d2 I second loving this comment.
I love Hotdog, he has a great progression throughout the show and some absolutely hilarious lines
At the end of the day, Saul and Ellen are basically Zeus and Hera bickering lol
Maybe if Ares had killed them, brought them back to live as mortals with their memories erased and taken over Olympus.
Can't believe that didn't cross my mind...👍🏼💯
At least Tigh didn't have to turn into a goose...

The deleted scenes made me think we missed the extended version but whew okay they're just deleted
@@732ReviewCrew yeah, they're just the deleted scenes.

Great episode, great reaction. Almost at the end. Can't wait for you guys to see the twist(s) at the end...
This episode is a perfect example of why BSG is the BEST Space Soap Opera!!!
Thanks guys for another fun reaction.☺️💚
100% agree. All of these characters a re so relatable at this point and the acting is really good. So many great scenes in this episode.
Paula- like the apostle Paul.
Well, Ellen is still Ellen. And “great grandpa was a power sander”…perhaps the best line in the show 😂 And that scene between Bill and Saul…damn! 😢
Yeah . Went from "YEY Ellen's back ... , to yey ... Ellen's back ..." . 😮
@@Robotrik1 100% 😂
btw, jane espenson wrote this episde. she also wrote for buffy.
mikey’s media literacy is next level
When a mommy and daddy love each other very much, DoorDash brings them a baby.

You are the review crew now! No 732
More of the missing fleet civil war plotline. Understandable as it would have been very expensive to shoot.

Very different story though, they had no choice. They had to do anything to stop the disease that was spreading in the 700s...
Hat Guy still stubbornly refusing to accept the truth that Mikey has embraced.
Heavy episode, but so well written. Damned Ellen... What a recipe for disaster.
Gaius Jesus.
Stop fighting what the show has been telling you since the first episode
This is around the time that fans started calling the show Battlestar Alcoholica.
🤣👌
Joe, Starbuck is not a cylon. This isn’t a spoiler. They have told you in the show all the cylons. But dude keeps going with this. She is not a cylon.

Après 4x15 il est conseillé de regarder le film Battlestar Galactica : The Plan. C'est mieux que de le regarder Après le série finale 😊 ❤
The Plan is definitely best viewed AFTER the series.
