@@jasonstrickland9245 There's no MCU without Fox and the X-Men. People keep trying to say Blade made the MCU possible, but X-Men would have happened even if Blade completely bombed at the Box Office. X-Men was already in production alongside it, (Singer was hired to direct in 1996, and it was originally supposed to release in 1998 until script problems pushed it back) and almost no one - even COMIC BOOK FANS - knew Blade was a comic book, because at the time he was an extremely obscure character who averaged maybe 4 appearances per year since his introduction, and it wasn't even marketed as such (Marvel isn't mentioned anywhere in the original trailers or TV spots). X-Men, however, was by FAR Marvel's biggest seller throughout the 90s, while they were also well known through the 1992 animated series (a LOT of 80s and 90s kids who never read comics knew about the X-Men from the cartoon). It was also an R-rated action horror movie vs. a PG-13 action blockbuster.
The meta joke with Channing Tatum playing Gambit is that there was a Gambit movie in development at 20th Century Fox for the longest time, with Channing set to star as the character. They even brought him out on stage at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con to announce his casting, but the movie got stuck in development hell for years and was eventually cancelled when Disney bought 20th Century Fox. Channing played a big part in the movie's development, as playing Gambit was a dream of his, but because of the movie's eventual cancellation he never got the chance, until now.
I love this movie. I'm a 42 year old man. I grew up watching the Fox universe form. I was in the theatre for Electra, Blade, Punisher, X-Men, all of em. This movie honors that journey. It gives us a payoff over 25 years in the making. Some people may have a gripe about Deadpool breaking the 4th wall being a cheap writing tool, but Ryan Reynolds uses his power for good in this case. Not only does he honor the comics by actually including as much legendary comic imagery for Wolverine as he does (the suit, the variants) and all the Deadpool variants, but by breaking the 4th wall he honors the behind the scenes journey us fans have taken with them. He points out beef between him and Snipes. Beef between Affleck and Garner. The hope of Tatum to play Gambit. The way studios have mistreated Cavill. The way Fox dropped the ball on their franchises. The way Marvel has been in a slump. The way fans feel about the upcoming Blade movie. But most of all, the way that fans have been dying to see a classic comic book wolverine since they started making these movies. There are literally too many nods to list. Sure, there is a hand in your face jangling keys, but below it, the other hand is reaching for a handshake to say thank you to us. It reaches a level of intricate decades long fan service that may never be duplicated. And it does it in a way that honors the viewpoint of fans rather than ridiculing them. This movie shows us that despite all the Hollywood bullshit out there, there's a few people on the inside that have taken this lifelong journey with us. It shows us there are still a few people making these movies that CARE...about US. It gives me hope that maybe the best isn't behind us. Thank you Ryan, Hugh, Cavill, Garner, Snipes, Tatum, Dafne and everyone else who still believes in the power of comic books and good stories. Let's fuckin go!
Hold on, you watched all those movies in the theaters? Wow. That’s extraordinary. As for me, I too grew up with the X-Men movie and the other projects. Literally since I was a kid when I started it and since then, it was never a dull moment. After catching up with the Deadpool movies, I couldn’t resist but to see this one as well because of Wolverine returning since Logan. They really outdone themselves here and I’m glad that they had a tribute montage for it.
Gambits accent is Cajun and it’s actually not bad. Channing Tatum was supposed to play Gambit but it never worked out, so he plays him in this movie, and Gambit is Cajun. It’s basically southern and French accent combined, from Louisiana. I know it sounds weird but he did a good job with it, that’s how it really sounds.
@@ericmm6822 Dude I don’t know, I just know America acquired Louisiana from the French, so obviously there would be French people there, and a dialect would develop. Just like the dialect in Canada, but it’s all a bit different from the original,, so much so that they sometime can’t understand it. Like Portuguese in Brazil or Spanish in Mexico. But I don’t know if they spoke French Canadian or French from France or which dialect they used originally. I just know the people from the original country or speakers of the language sometimes talk shit about these other places that speak their language, but them again maybe they shouldn’t have colonized any body any where
Elektra not giving a single crap Daredevil died was low-key hilarious 😂😂😂. Ben Affleck (Daredevil) is Jennifer Garner's ex-husband for the few who dont know. EDIT: *Great catch, Cassie!!!*
@@SorenAlba54 Neither of them knew who the character of Electra was (check the 37:55 mark), I think she just knew Ben and Jennifer were married in the past, hence why they still thought it was funny.
"You were the best Wolverine" was clearly Ryan Reynolds speaking for the fans in that moment. As Hugh Jackman mentions in the post credit montage, not many people knew who he was going into that first 'X-Men' movie and indeed were asking "can he deliver?" Boy did he ever.
In an interview Hugh tells that his young son and schools friends worshipped Wolverine, but didn't know or believe his Dad was Wolverine. Until Hugh surprised them at his son's school in full make-up. Hard to top that "Show n Tell" school day!
@@RelativeReality7 out of curiosity who were you hoping to get the role? I have no idea who else was in the running for the role but yeah couldn't imagine anyone else being Wolverine.
@@patrickwoodlands4086 that's the thing. I don't know who else was in the running. I just remember finding out it was Jackman and when I saw him it didn't fit at all. None of the 2000s actors fit in most people's eyes for any of the characters except Patrick Stewart because it was so obvious.
"Why does it feel like its over?" Because a big part of this film is a love letter to the Fox X-Men universe. It is done, and it managed to give a nod to the films that paved the way for comic book movies to even have an expanded universe. Blade was a comic book R rated movie long before they were even a thing, and so on. The characters they honoured were the ones that walked so Marvel could run.
@@shalakabooyaka1480 Yes, and if you're talking about the very first comic book movies you can go all the way back to the silent film era with movies about Batman and Superman. But Blade was crucial to 21st century comic book movies because it literally kept Marvel from going bankrupt, and the first X-Men movie proved comic book movies could be massive blockbusters. 20th Century Fox dropped the ball plenty of times, but without their movies, the ones that Deadpool Vs. Wolverine pays tribute to, there would be no MCU.
Well more like the death of super hero movies. One more hoorah now that Disney has it all. It's all down hill from here. By the way Marvel's current phase is trash
@@harrysarai3947its not a comic book thing. Well kindve but not with Peter. He is Deadpool’s best friend(most likely because what the person up top said) in the films. Deadpool’s actual best friend from the comics actually appeared in the first movie. “Bob? I haven’t seen you since Jacksonville. TGI Fridays.” He’s nicknamed Hydra Bob. For obvious reasons😂.
The use of N-Sync is twofold... 1} The music video for Celine Dion's Ashes, the theme for Deadpool 2, Deadpool asks her to take it down a notch, grumbling that he "should have asked N-Sync". And even funnier, 2} In X-Men 2, when escaping the Mansion, Wolverine, Pyro, Rogue and Iceman are in Cyclops' car, and Pyro turns on the radio, which plays Bye Bye Bye. Wolverine switches it off in disgust. So, Deadpool is dancing on Wolverine's grave to a song he knows that he despised!
My daughter and niece (both 14) didnt know who Elektra and Blade were, but yelled *"Its Magic Mike!!"* when Gambit appeared. My brother almost had an aneurysm. 😂 EDIT: If you honestly think high school age kids (freshman and sophomore in this case) don't know about R-rated movies, you are 100% in denial. They have friends and technology to fill them in.
@@TheMan21892 That's the reason for the aneurysm. 💀 But they know because they saw Channing Tatum and his then wife Jenna on Lip Sync Battle years back. She performed a song from the movie. After that it was Google and RUclips to the rescue. Trust me when I tell you that teenagers these days rarely DONT know what an actor has done.
The interesting thing about the end was that it was the movie's theme in action. Matter and Anti-matter. Logan mattered too much and he buckled under the pressure. Wade didn't matter at all and his life was empty because of it. But together, Logan had someone to lean on and Wade had someone to give him purpose. Matter and Anti-matter...together, saved the whole timeline.
Hurts my feelings that y’all don’t know Blade. He is the reason why the MCU is alive. Wesley Snipes is the reason why Marvel didn’t go completely bankrupt.
It's said that Chris Evans only agreed to be in this if he could be Johnny and he could swear up a storm because it would be a subversion of Captain America's "Language" that usually comes out of his mouth. He loved it so much he was in.
@@mage1439 But not the guy you want for the movie. Playing Gambit has been a passion project for Tatum for years in the same way playing Deadpool has been for Ryan. These are the types of people you want for the role.
Note Wolverine never called Deadpool a liar with the Johnny situation, he just said he got him killed. Also, according to the director, Henry Cavill said yes to playing an alternate Wolverine with zero hesitation. You can tell he's having a blast. The best cameo along with Gambit and of course Wesley Snipes as Blade.
Even Jonny says maybe don't, like begging not to tell. And Deadpool doesn't tell all of it Cassandra knew all cause she read Jonnys mind. The way she kills her. Deadpool doesn't say anything.
It's so funny that the two most crazy cameos were the ones you didn't know. When Blade came out in the cinema the sound just exploded, everyone was so surprised. I bet a lot of comments have explained this already but yeah, his films were the first to start what X-men could take over and what evolved into the MCU and comic book movies of today. And Channing Tatum were going to be Gambit back when X-Men Origins Wolverine was made. He even came out at Comic Con to announce it on stage, and then it never happened.
My fav character was Laura / X-23. She is one of my favorite comic book characters along with Wolverine and I HOPE we get some movies where she can be the main character. There is so much depth to delve into with that character. Daphne Keen kan do it justice too. Such a perfect casting still.
A Deadpool fan doesn't have to do homework or know about the cheap cameos to see a Deadpool movie. I know I don't have to. I saw the movie for Deadpool AND Wolverine. I didn't care about the cameos outside of Gambit.
Blade entrance wasn't all that crazy for me. I rolled my eyes the entire time. I was just waiting for the entire thing to focus back on Deadpool and Wolverine's chemistry, bc the premise of them being together properly for the first time was what got me into the movie in the first place. If I'm being honest? The cameos ruined the movie a little for me. As both a Deadpool and wolverine fan, I was kinda annoyed
He killed this roll. I thought that scene was great as well, but he killed the whole movie. Put him up for best supporting actor at all the award shows.
The montage in the credits feels like the end, because it is the end. This movie is a Deadpool movie, but its also the swan song of Pre-Disney Marvel filmography. It's the death of the 20th Century Fox Xmen Universe, and the others in the void represent the death of their respective earlier universes that didn't work out or had run their course: Blade, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and Channing Tatum's Gambit which just missed being made. Disney will soon introduce their version of the X-men and Fantastic Four into the MCU.
Some of them may be returning for future films or series. Jackman is reported to be continuing into the MCU, at least initially. Dafne Keen is said to be having sizable roles in Doomsday and Secret Wars. And considering her young age and that she's been well-received in everything she appears in, Marvel would be kind of stupid not to leverage that. There's reports that because the Mashalla Ali Blade movie keeps getting stuck, Disney may just bring back Snipes. Tatum supposedly has talked about actually getting his project off the ground, and Reynolds has been supporting him (there IS a shot on the TVA monitors in the post-credits of Gambit being rescued by a Sling Ring).
30:38 Fun fact: The director of ‘Grease,’ Randal Kleiser, saw it, and his face lit up during this scene 😂 He called it the “scene with the best absolute cartoon violence 🤣
The Blade cameo is a HUGE deal because it was in Blade: Trinity/ Blade 3 where a studio exec approached Ryan Reynolds about being the character. He handed him a stack of comics where Deadpool in one even mentioned he looks like Ryan Reynolds with a Shar Pei. Ryan and Wesley notoriously didn't get along. Well Wesley didn't get along with several people. So the line you never liked me was an inside joke. 😆Great Reaction ❤❤
From the interviews of other actors in Blade Trinity over Snipes attitude during that film leads me to think he was just at peak deva. So Reynolds met him at his worst. Snipes does seem to have really mellowed out after that whole tax evasion situation. Snipes and Reynolds have claimed they have always been friends during press interviews for this film, but I have a hard time believing that. I can believe they became friends at some point later on, but no chance that was the case during trinity. I am glad Snipes mellowed out. I hope he gets a second resurgence of great films and this time not let it get to his head haha.
@@Lugen101 It started on the 2nd Blade film then got worse. The writer/director David Goyer got pushed limits like telling people Wesley can beat them up or just off putting humor. Then take into account he took the story into comedic directions. That doesn't excuse him but I can also see where he might be coming from.
21:31 Dakota Fanning was in ANOTHER comic book movie with Chris Evans called "Push." Chris has had A LOT of comic book roles: Push, Scott Pilgram, Fantastic Four, and of course Cap.
Cass, The floating head is called Headpool, he's Deadpool from a universe where all the marvel heroes got infected by a zombie virus. He lost his body and became a zombified head and eventually lost his appitite for human flesh and joined a multiverse team of Deadpool's.
@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 I love Fillion.. But I think they waited a bit too long on it by the time they got to making the movie. But I do agree Drake should have been older. Then again.. Unfortunately after Willis' diagnosis we'll never see it.
Great reaction, team... HOWEVER!!!!! Not knowing who BLADE was is inexcusable 😂😂 watching this is the cinema and the biggest cheer of the whole film is when Wesley Snipes appeared! Blake did the voice for Ladypool Matthew Mcconaughey voiced Cowboypool And Ryan and Blakes kids voiced kidpool, and the infant
There’s some really cool references in the ‘Thash Heap’ as Paradox calls it. You can see a Thor Helmet, SHIELD ship, there’s a comic in the dirt somewhere, of course the 20th Century Fox sign and many more! Additionally, in the convoy you can spot a Fantastic 4 car, Red Skull’s car from Captain America: The First Avenger and a few more in blanking on atm lol
Channing Tatum's inclusion is a reference to a Gambit movie that he was attached to for several years. Tatum was trying to play Gambit for nearly 20 years and the film was in development hell for more than half of that time. He was announced as part of Fox's future X-Men film lineup in 2015 but the movie just never materialized and Disney inevitably bought Fox. So this was really just a dream come true for Channing Tatum and all the jokes at his expense are references to the movie that never came to be. Awesome reaction as always guys!
Sure it did. All the Deadpool movies have those moments. It should be expected by now. Mix that with the emotional charge of this ending an era and there's plenty of emotion going around.
Channing's accent was a genuine Louisiana Cajun accent throughout- he's practiced it for years and it surprised me just how genuine it sounded. Makes sense given his upbringing.

He also couldn’t draw wrists, villains’ mouths contained hundreds of teeth, every costume had pouches, and the proportions of every character were distorted to comical effect. It’s astounding Liefeld continued to fail upwards his entire career
@@timjohnson7929I shudder when I think of that Captain America from the waist up "drawing" he did. How could he not look at it and not throw it away, let alone put it out there for the world to see? Liefeld takes all the credit for Deadpool. But he just copied DC's Deathstroke. The writer, Fabian Nicieza, said it was so blatant that they should name him Wade Wilson (Deathstroke's name is Slade Wilson) so they can claim it's a parody. Also, what people love about Deadpool is his personality. That's from the writers, not Liefeld.

Channing Tatum's accent is a legit Cajun accent. His father is from Louisiana and he grew up there for awhile so, he's been around a lot of Cajun ppl so his Cajun accent is spot on. It sounds strange to those who haven't been around that accent much. Also, Tatum has been trying to get a Gambit movie made for like 10+ years so it's most fitting he finally got to suit up as Gambit and hopefully, will get his own standalone Gambit movie. 🥰
Headpool was voiced by Nathan Fillion (Captain Mal Reynolds), and I think this is the first feature film that both he and Morena have been in since Serenity. I'm not 100% that is accurate, but I can't think of another one. Nathan and Ryan Reynolds have been friends since they both worked together on the TV show "Two Guys and a Girl (and a Pizza Place)" back in the late 1990s. They also share a bit of connection that Nathan was recently cast to play Green Lantern in the new DC cinematic universe that James Gunn, who wrote and directed all the Guardians of Galaxy movies. Nathan also did the voice acting for some animated DC Comics animated movies. When he was first cast as Green Lantern in one of those movies, he tweeted at Ryan Reynolds a picture of Green Lanter with the caption something along the lines of "You can't have him back." This also makes the fourth MCU movie that Nathan has worked on. Playing a different character every time. He worked on all the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. In Vol. 1 he voiced the big blue alien that got Groot's fingers shoved up his nose. His part in Vol. 2 got cut for time, but his scene was filmed. And he played a head guard in Vol. 3. Fillion has been cast in almost every single James Gunn film since they became friends while working the horror film Slither together. Slither would be a great movie to react to for "Scary...but not too Scary season."
The fact the N'sync's song, "Bye Bye" was the same song that was in X2 when Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) was in Cyclops's car and he was disgusted by it, is the intro song for this movie is pure gold
The reason you go to Happy to become an avenger is because he is the director and part writer of the Iron Man original movie. And he is a gate keeper of sorts since he works a lot with Disney (Star Wars franchise) so Deadpool finally crossed into the Disney realm from Fox
Basically, _Deadpool & Wolverine_ was a massive love letter and final send-off / thank you to the earlier superhero movies (Blade and the Fox superhero movies); which were generally critically panned and often looked down on by comic book fans but in reality paved the way for the MCU. The movie was also basically a showcase of the Ryan Reynolds expanded universe. Basically, most of the cameos were people affiliated with and/or are friends with Ryan Reynolds in RL. For instance, Ladypool was voiced by his Blake Lively (his wife), Kidpool was his daughter, Welshpool was a football/soccer player from Wrexham FC (a football club that Ryan owns), etc. Plus, I think he made a point to get a core cast from the previous movies and gave them all speaking lines (which carries a big significance in terms of their earnings versus a non-speaking role). Which further shows how Ryan is the type to remember and appreciate the people who've helped him along the way.
A long time ago, before Chris Evan’s was Captain America he was Johnny Storm (a member of The Fantastic Four) which is who he is in this movie This whole movie is like a farewell to 20th Century Fox and it’s characters (Pyro, Toad, Juggernaut, Electra, Blade, Sabertooth, etc (SO many more)
When Deadpool and Wolverine are about to fight for the first time when they are in the void, and you see Deadpool do that slow-mo exceedingly cool way of loading the clips into his guns, and Cassie said, "That was very John Wick-ian." That is really a move from the movie Equilibrium, with Christian Bale. Equilibrium was a tragically not advertised movie, so it flew under the radar of almost everyone! It is a wonderful movie about a future distopia where feelings are outlawed and suppressed by regular medication, and there is a police force that tracks down dissidents who don't take the medication and therefore experience emotions of love, grief, joy, sadness, etc. Those are deemed chaotic, so they are not part of the orderly society and must be eliminated. Christian Bale is one of those cops, and there is a form of martial arts in the movie that is called "Gun kata", that is kind of like using guns as an extension of karate to dodge, block, evade, attack, etc. It's fantastically smooth and cool looking, and he does that super cool kind of reloading in the movie.
Few character notes: Before playing Captain America, Chris Evans played Johnny Storm (Human Tourch) in the 2005 Fantasic Four movie. That is why everyone went nuts when he said "flame on!" Blade was THE superhero movie to basically lifted all superhero movies from the ground and Wesley Snipes was perfect. Elekra was another earlier superhero movie. She is an expert acrobatics and combat fighter. Jennifer Gardner also played her PERFECTLY. Gambit was supposed to have his own movie but the project was scrapped. There was even a post credit cutscene showing Channing Tatum as Gambit. The joke "I don't know, I feel like I was born here" was taking a shot that the movie never saw the light of day. The Deadpools at the end are all played by people that we never expected. Ladypool is played by Blake, Kidpool is played by their daughter, Cowboypool is played by Mathew Mcconaughey, and Headpool is played by Nathan Fillion. The ending credit scenes for all the FOX movies honestly brought tears to my eyes. The childhood memories and the end to the FOX superheros really got to me. This is what happens when you grow up watching things from the beginning to the end.
The Johnny Storm cameo was the dumbest of all the dumb cameos. What was the point of it? For idiots to jizz on themselves some more? He flames on, it amounts to nothing, he dies a few minutes later, what was the point of it? So stupid.
Blade was the beginning for Marvel on the big screen, but there were plenty of other successful superhero movies during the 90s: TMNT, Darkman, The Rocketeer, The Crow, The Mask, etc...
pretty sure it was Toby Maguire Spiderman that resparked interest in comic book filmss after all the stupid Batman films. Specifically Joel's duology of films.
Just so you know, LadyPool is only voiced by Blake Lively, but the body actor is a stuntwoman. Kidpool and Babypool, though, are Ryan's kids. The Deadpool who danced with the NSYNC music, aka Dancepool, is a pro dancer called Nick Pauley.
This movie was an absolute gift. I think it’s fair to say fans were getting a bit worn out with the fox movies. However we wanted so badly to see these two team up and just missed that window. Hugh and Ryan didn’t just bring laughs and action but this movie at its core is about how sometimes all we need is a second chance to turn things around. I know we will see these two again, but I love that they both found in their own ways a happy ending
I'm surprised how many people don't even know about the Louisiana Cajun accent lol. You should put the movie Southern Comfort (1981) on your list, you'll hear a whole lot more of that accent that Tatum has in this movie.
53:44 Chris Evans is from Boston, and has a natural Bostonian accent which he normally doesn't use when acting. Guess it comes out strong when he's cussing like no tomorrow. 😁😁
It’s too bad she didn’t watch the Blade films beforehand. They would have reacted differently Blade’s line,”Some mfers still trying to skate uphill.” Though she did eventually recognize Blade during the reaction.
What a wonderful tribute to the 20th Century Fox movies. Even letting the old vets like Blade and Elektra have a triumphant sendoff felt super heartfelt. Even giving nods to movies that were planned but never came to be like Channing Tatum's Gambit flick.
For all the people in this movie, I'm still disappointed at the 3 that weren't. RIP Cable, Domino, and Russell, because they'll surely never be back in this incarnation.
It's a really minor thing but love that in a film with so many big, shredded guys doing r-rated gory stuff somehow Dafne Keen manages to be the most outright intimidating character even (or should that be especially) in those shades. Really hope we get a lot more of her as they bring these characters into the wider MCU.
I hope she waches it as a reaction, which I guess she will. Blade 1 is still one of my favorite films. Along with the Matrix it's got some of the coolest world designs and fighting ideas. The intro scene is still amazing.
As an fan of Marvel Studios especially with THE MULTIVERSE SAGA, just like how much I loved 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' cause seeing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise as Spider-Man's, I was happy upon seeing 'DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE' teaming but also honor the legacy of 20th Century FOX's MARVEL universe, along with honoring the forgotten BLADE Franchise since it was released by New Line Cinema, do you considered Deadpool & Wolverine as the most funniest MCU film of all time just like Thor Ragnarok. 😁
The "The people you save, save you right back" I think was a nod to either (or both) Spiderman 2 where Peter says Thank you to MJ for saving him and more probably the end of Pretty Woman, the movie he mentions to the TVA near the beginning End of Pretty woman when Richard Gere finds Julia Roberts : "What happens to the princess?" "She saves him right back."

Some of the evading moves from the first fight scene in the void are an exact copy of the Spidertoby and Flash fight from the first Spiderman. @JohnDoe-ck3un Because people act like it's this massive thing. Like "Oh my god I can't believe they referenced it! I need to comment about it!" Also those things you mentioned are all here and then gone, as opposed to referencing a 3 second gag, for the entirety of the opening credits. The leg they used as a jetpack to escape is the leg of a Sentinel, from X-Men, so it makes sense Wolverine would know how they work. They fight and train against them. As for Elektra, she was in Daredevil with Ben Affleck before the MCU and then had her own spin off film. Wesley Snipes reprises his role as Blade, a character that's been in MCU limbo for over half a decade. Blade is considered the true start to Marvels resurgence on screen, followed by X-Men then Spider-Man. Ryan Reynolds was in the third Blade film and it's a well known story that Snipes hated Reynolds. When Ryan called him to be in the film, he was surprised and they sorted out their differences. Channing Tatum has been pining over the Gambit role for EVER and with Fox coming to an end, everyone had accepted he would never play the role, until this film came out. Kevin Feige, head of MCU, started on X-Men working with Brian Singer where it became known that Singer had a no-comics policy and the only reason the films were even close was because Feige was sneaking the actors comics for them to study. Him being in charge, his start at Fox, his involvement with X-Men and wehat he's done with Marvel since the early 2000's makes this a very meaningful movie, not just the action and jokes. Theres a lot here.

Blade proved that comic book movies could be very successful if done right. Spiderman, Fantastic 4, X-Men, and eventually the MCU, none of them would exist without Blade. Wesley Snipes rocked that role, it was one of my favorite movies growing up.
wholesome fact: the actual marvel comics anchor being tends to be spider-man. not because he's some incredible badass, but simply because of he and his way of reaching people and helping them is necessary (he even has his own dedicated multiverse, he's so present lol) the anchor being of the MCU is stan lee lol
Jennifer Garner was Elektra in Dardevil. Wesley Snipes is Blade, the actual first marvel hero that got a movie. And Channing Tatum was in development for a Gambit movie, but it never got made.
At the end when Wade tells Vanessa “I did it for you, even if you don’t want me, I did it for you” I almost feel like he is also talking about the fans. His way of saying thank you.
14:33 PSA: Comic accurate Wolverine is 5 foot 4, the body double they used in this movie is 4 foot 11 inches. So no its not actually comic accurate. They made him too short for comedic effect.
Ok the flying head Deadpool was from the Marvel Zombies arc. In that comic series all the Super people get infected with a zombie virus and the world gets destroyed. Deadpools head gets woken up while half zombie. In the post credit scene in the tva you see on the small monitors the others that helped D&W get back are brought to this world as well. (Since their worlds are gone.)
44:06 The floating head is Headpool. In the comics, he is a variant of Deadpool who was infected with a zombie virus, he is decapitated and now moves around with a turbine hat, he generally teams up with Deadpool, Lady Deadpool, and Kidpool to form a team.
You silly sausages xD So much was missed here lol It's all good though, i gotchya: - Elektra (played by Jennifer Garner) is Ben Affleck's ex-wife... hence why she didn't care that he died. - Johnny Storm (played by Chris Evans) is from the 2 Fantastic Four films in the mid-2000's. - Blade (played by Wesley Snipes) is the reason the MCU exists and brought Marvel out of Bankruptcy. Additionally, the new Blade remake has been cancelled due to the successful revival of the OG Blade in this movie (that's while also ignoring the production hell the new Blade movie has been in since it's announcement back in 2017-2018). - Gambit (played by Channing Tatum) was originally going to have his own movie along side the X-Men back in the early 2000's, however, the studio refused to allow it to happen, even after it was announced back in the day. - The storyline where Charles and his sister fight in the womb to the death is a legit comicbook. - The big guy in the red and white striped shirt is a character from The Punisher named 'The Russian'. - All pre-MCU movies were originally going to be their own adult version of the MCU back in the day... these movies included: > Blade (1998) > Fantastic Four (2005) > Spider-man (2002) > The Punisher (2004) > X-Men (2000) > Daredevil (2003) > Elektra (2005) > Ghost Rider (2007)

They weren't the absolute best but they were all we had, but I'm still glad we have/had them.
Yeah, not just the X-men, but all of their Marvel stuff.
Not just the X-Men, though. Also the FF and Elektra, they had stuff from those in there, too. Michael Chiklis is still the best Ben Grimm.

Gambits accent is Cajun and it’s actually not bad. Channing Tatum was supposed to play Gambit but it never worked out, so he plays him in this movie, and Gambit is Cajun.
No, you go to Happy because Kevin Feige said no.
@@busimagen "Uhhh...I didn't exhale?"
A long time ago, before Chris Evan’s was Captain America he was Johnny Storm (a member of The Fantastic Four) which is who he is in this movie
This whole movie is like a farewell to 20th Century Fox and it’s characters (Pyro, Toad, Juggernaut, Electra, Blade, Sabertooth, etc (SO many more)
When Deadpool and Wolverine are about to fight for the first time when they are in the void, and you see Deadpool do that slow-mo exceedingly cool way of loading the clips into his guns, and Cassie said, "That was very John Wick-ian." That is really a move from the movie Equilibrium, with Christian Bale.
Yes. It was excellent!
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that.
Equilibrium is fantastic!
It was also in Devil May Cry 3. Lady reloads her pistols in much the same way in a cutscene.
lets give this a bump so she can see Equilibrium
that was a tribute to the “20th Century Fox“ for all the X-Men films and others. That's why Deadpool said "rest in pieces Fox"
Few character notes:
Before playing Captain America, Chris Evans played Johnny Storm (Human Tourch) in the 2005 Fantasic Four movie. That is why everyone went nuts when he said "flame on!"
Blade was THE superhero movie to basically lifted all superhero movies from the ground and Wesley Snipes was perfect.
JG as Electra was from the fox Daredevil movie with Ben Afleck as Daredevil. It was terrible. The Netflix Daredevil is so much better!
pretty sure it was Toby Maguire Spiderman that resparked interest in comic book filmss after all the stupid Batman films. Specifically Joel's duology of films.
@@AzguardMike Batman & Robin = 1997, Blade = 1998, X-Men = 2000, Unbreakable = 2000, Blade II = 2002, Spider-Man = 2002
Just so you know, LadyPool is only voiced by Blake Lively, but the body actor is a stuntwoman. Kidpool and Babypool, though, are Ryan's kids.
The Deadpool who danced with the NSYNC music, aka Dancepool, is a pro dancer called Nick Pauley.
"'Till he's 90!" 😆
This movie was an absolute gift. I think it’s fair to say fans were getting a bit worn out with the fox movies. However we wanted so badly to see these two team up and just missed that window. Hugh and Ryan didn’t just bring laughs and action but this movie at its core is about how sometimes all we need is a second chance to turn things around. I know we will see these two again, but I love that they both found in their own ways a happy ending
20:30 Not quite. Chris Evans also played a superhero in the _Fantastic Four_ - this isn't Captain America, it's Johnny Storm.
They were talking about Pyro…
They literally talk about Fantastic Four like 20 seconds later…

I'm surprised how many people don't even know about the Louisiana Cajun accent lol. You should put the movie Southern Comfort (1981) on your list, you'll hear a whole lot more of that accent that Tatum has in this movie.
If anything, from what I've heard the biggest complaint actual Cajuns have is that it's TOO EASY to understand what he says.
I get it for people new to the X-Men, but I'd have thought enough people would know what Gambit is supposed to sound like from the cartoon at least.
I'd like to try some Cajun food one day!
I'm Swedish and I know it hahah. But Gambit might be the reason I know it tbh.
@@butcherjsy8it's some of the best you'll ever have

Do yall seriously not know Wesley’s snipes or even blade? Smh 🤦🏽♂️ he’s the single reason why we have marvel movies to this day
It’s too bad she didn’t watch the Blade films beforehand. They would have reacted differently Blade’s line,”Some mfers still trying to skate uphill.” Though she did eventually recognize Blade during the reaction.
The most sisterly moment I’ve seen is when you both make the exact same face at 50:10 without looking at each other. 🤣🤣🤣
It’s perfect. Haha
I loved that moment hehe, so adorable. 😊
Jennifer Garner - Elektra.
Wesley Snipes - Blade.
Channing Tatum - Gambit.
So Proud of Cassie getting the Star Trek reference! Shes grown so much! lol
The Dakota Fanning and Chris Evan's movie you're thinking of is another low-budget superhero movie called "Push".
If you had seen the Fantastic Four duology, the Blade trilogy, and the Daredevil & Elektra movies, you would have appreciated this one even more.
Cable would be a great add for a trio movie. The three of them could make some really funny stuff.
@@RelativeReality7 missed oppotunity for some thanos jokes
It's a really minor thing but love that in a film with so many big, shredded guys doing r-rated gory stuff somehow Dafne Keen manages to be the most outright intimidating character even (or should that be especially) in those shades. Really hope we get a lot more of her as they bring these characters into the wider MCU.
So much to explore about X-23
It hurt hearing "damn, I wish I knew who that was" when Blade walked in lmao I almost cried in the theater 😅
I hope she waches it as a reaction, which I guess she will. Blade 1 is still one of my favorite films. Along with the Matrix it's got some of the coolest world designs and fighting ideas. The intro scene is still amazing.
As an Albertan I can appreciate the rather rude and clearly American TVA guy he shoved a katana into. Maple syrup land forever 🇨🇦
The "The people you save, save you right back" I think was a nod to either (or both) Spiderman 2 where Peter says Thank you to MJ for saving him and more probably the end of Pretty Woman, the movie he mentions to the TVA near the beginning
End of Pretty woman when Richard Gere finds Julia Roberts : "What happens to the princess?" "She saves him right back."
NSYNC is playing because in X2 when the Xmen flee the School, they are in the car and Pyro fiddles with the radio and for a split second you can hear BYE BYE BYE. it took 21 years to play it again
And Logan immediately shut it off saying something along the lines of "I hate that song"
@@xaderalert Pyro turns it off, and Logan doesn't say anything.
Plus, you people will try and find meaning in the most random, barely tangible things. A song showed up for a few seconds in a movie, and a later movie uses the same song again? OMG REFERENCEEE!!!
@@Eidlones You are missing the level of detail, they put into this movie. Like when DP carries Wolverine out of the first portal, it is an exact copy of Thor 3 when the do "get help", the "random" Spiderman moves during the driving scene, are an exact copy of some moves from Andrew Garfield. Some of the evading moves from the first fight scene in the void are an exact copy of the Spidertoby and Flash fight from the first Spiderman.
So, why can this tiny little detail not be a reference too?
@JohnDoe-ck3un Because people act like it's this massive thing. Like "Oh my god I can't believe they referenced it! I need to comment about it!"
Also those things you mentioned are all here and then gone, as opposed to referencing a 3 second gag, for the entirety of the opening credits.
Plus, those things are things they're actively doing, or the reference has some kindof additional meaning beyond the surface level. As opposed to "this song played in an xmen movie before"
@@Eidlones Carly asked a question. I answered it. It was just a fun fact. Not a two paragraph analysis of a RUclips comment.

Wolverine: (says to Deadpool)
Let’s f**kin’ go.
So the whole alternate Logan or wolverine was from X-Men I think it was the second movie where the humans attack to the mansion and this wolverine wasn’t there to save them in the second movie he was there but according to this Logan he wasn’t and humans did come and destroy all the kids
That cave scene was a prime example of "If you haven't scene any of these movies, these pauses for cheering are gonna be awkward and silent"
Show this movie to a roomful of people who each have an IQ over 75 and it's just silence all the way through.
To answer your question on who and what Headpool is, Headpool is actually the zombified head of Deadpool from one of the MANY Marvel Zombies timelines in the comics. So, for everyone watching or reading this comment. We now have a Marvel Zombie in live action form in the form of Headpool in this movie.
Also, besides Dog Pool, there is also a Squirrel Pool as well and a Cat Pool.
Blake Lively was in the Lady Pool outfit. Kid Pool and Baby Pool were actually their kids.
43:21 Blake Lively was the voice and Christiaan Bettridge was the name of the actress in the suit. Also, Matthew McConnaughey was Cowboypool.
Great reaction - been following all of your X-Men journey.
- Blade 3 starred Ryan Reynolds who clashed with Wesley Snipes so there’s some inside jokes when they meet in the void.
- Miles Teller & Michael B. Jordan played 2 of the Fantastic 4 in the reboot. Different to Chris Evans version a decade earlier.
- Channing Tatum had a Gambit movie being made but it got lost ‘in the void’ hence the inside jokes that maybe he was born there.
A lot of little nods to other films & moments but you got a lot of them!
Chris evans played the human torch in the fantastic four
34:19 Jennifer Garner was Elektra in the Ben Affleck DareDevil movie & in her own Elektra movie that is known for being really bad, Wesley Snipes played Blade 98 making it the first successful Marvel movie & 2nd R rated Marvel movie with 89 The Punisher staring Dolph Lundgren (Rocky 4). Wesley Snipes had 3 blade movies with Ryan Reynolds being in Blade Trinity & it is widely known that Snipes didn't like Reynolds. And Channing Tatum was supposed to be Gambit in his own movie he even announced it at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con but was canceled with a lot of other projects in 2019 when Disney bought Fox & planing to bring the X-men into the MCU.
Woah up there. Daredevil was pretty bad, but Elektra was a great movie
@@gavinyoung7085 Naw, Both were pretty bad.
@@gavinyoung7085 based on grossing sales DareDevil made $178 million on a budget of $78 million, and Elektra made only $57 million on a budget of $65 million.
Thanks for the reactions, Popcorn girls!

A Blade reaction will be fun, it's a must see. That movie was super good, super successful, and without it Marvel Studios would've probably been shuttered for good. Blade proved that comic book movies could be very successful if done right. Spiderman, Fantastic 4, X-Men, and eventually the MCU, none of them would exist without Blade. Wesley Snipes rocked that role, it was one of my favorite movies growing up.
Chris Evans is from Massachusetts that's why he has an accent in the post-credit scene.
