Sean Waltman is another guy who was years before their time, that's not to say there weren't athletic guys back in the day, a dude like Mr Perfect was, but his style was the complete opposite and more fitting for the time. I wish we could have a young RVD and Sean Waltman in today's wrestling world.

Saw him again years later, and he remembered me from the instance years earlier. Just as nice. Super class act. Definitely not one to fuck with either.
When someone like Kurt Angle speaks highly of you, you know your a big deal. Weird as they couldn't be more different personality wise but seems like Angle genuinely likes RVD
The biggest mistake was having HHH beat him at Unforgiven 2002 via Ric Flair interference. I was there and that result took all of the air out of the crowd. No one cared what happened in the main event because RVD was giga over and the crowd wanted him to win.

Before his untimely demise, Kurt had the Dave Schultz training him. The most respected mind in wrestling was a mentor to the eventual world and Olympic champion. Kurt truly was part of a special moment in American wrestling.
He had a doctor on standby after every match that would just prop him up on painkillers. Kurt said this in, I think, this same interview. If not this one, he said it in a different one.

Rob also has his own weight lifting technique. He would do the splits between two benches (one leg facing forward and the other facing backward) and lift two dumbbells up over his head. This gives him a shoulder workout as well as a core workout. There's footage of him doing it in youtube.
