- Kurt Angle is a 14-time professional wrestling world champion, with titles collected in WWE, TNA, and Japan. He is in both the WWE and TNA/Impact Hall of Fames, a two-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion, and has also won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Games with, as he likes to say, ‘a broken freaking neck.’ At every stop in his career, Angle has reached the top of the mountain, and now he’s taking his Three I’s; Intensity, Intelligence, and Integrity, to the podcast world as he joins host Paul Bromwell to take a look back at some of the matches, feuds and moments that turned an Olympic gold medalist into one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time. It’s True. It’s damn true

As a kid I didn't understand why they stopped Hardcore Holly push back in 2003 but now I get it.
Dude was boring af anyway..
I get Bob Holly attacking guys that can defend themselves like Renee Dupree but beating the crap out of some kid that won't fight back (or isn't allowed to) and has zero experience is pretty low.
The kid was making a joke out of the business.
@@TomStrohOptimalDailyLiving No one told me that. He should have killed him then
@@TomStrohOptimalDailyLiving in what way
@@TomStrohOptimalDailyLiving You do know these are grown men, in spandex, doing soap opera tier stories and acting...right?

@Cody Hess Wasn't botched. Bob sandbagged Brock on purpose, and Lesnar broke his neck on purpose too. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

@@AlexYBITW No, that's not true. Brock had the flu that night and wasn't at 100%.
@@TomStrohOptimalDailyLiving Rewatch it and tell me he didn't do it on purpose. He even smiles and enjoys himself and he was right to do so. Holly was a piece of shit bully and played with stronger than him and paid for it.
@@AlexYBITW I don't know. The man did nearly go on to die twice due to eating seeds and nuts like a squirrel and not being able to shit properly. I could see the flu slowing him down enough to botch a sneeze.
He's describing a bully. "Bob will beat the shit out of ya". Nobody describes Taker that way.
Because Taker already has the appearance that he'll beat the shit out of ya 😑
@@DaddyFutbol this makes no sense, these guys are huge, obviously Hardcore Holly has the appearance he’ll beat the shit out of you too.
That's what he was paid to do... He would've been fired if Vince had a problem with it

Because Taker has the stroke to burry your career.
Bob Holly was the one with the chip on his shoulder. He got tired of being Spark Plug, took enough roids to gain 100 pounds, and took out his projected frustrations on smaller guys.
Everyone was on roids though
You speak as if you have 1st hand knowledge or something?
Took steroids to gain 100lbs? Good work not knowing what the fuck you’re talking about. That dude was never small.
You heard that from shoot interviews with bitter former wrestlers who couldn’t cut it whereas Kurt was actually there.
@@Ian-Omega guys rarely speak poorly of their shitty ass friends.
Matt Cappotelli from Tough Enough definitely didn't deserve the beating he got from Bob Holly
I knew matt
Good dude
His father and his brother were all yoked as well
Yes that when i lost respect for him when he did that . Really messed Matt up
He disrespectful to bob
It always got me that some young guy who called himself a man was ready to quit wrestling because he had a black eye and a fat lip. This is a business where there wasa 80+ year old woman named Mae Young who was getting clothes line so hard she did a flip and powerbombed off stages before asking if she could be power bombed off the top of the cage.
One of those two was definitely "Tough enough" to be in the company
@@RobwLPOC Taking stunts/bumps and taking an actual ass whooping are two different things. What Holly did was wrong and it’s not what pro wrestling is about, people are supposed to get hurt but not like that.
Bob being a good in-ring worker is about the only thing going for him and quite honestly, isn't enough to escape the shadow of him being a notoriously horrible human being.
Idk about good in ring worker he's the one who injured Brock Lesnar during the height of his heel push
He wasn’t even that good of a worker let’s be honest, barely has any memorable matches if any at all lmao
😂he wasn't good at anything but picking on little guys😂😂😂 wrestling fans are dorks
You got that backward. Brock broke Holly's neck.
And a guy doesn't last 20 years in the business if he isn't decent in the ring.
@@kevantereese4197
@@kevantereese4197 uhh it was Lesnar that broke Bob's neck lol
I think the word “bully” has a picture of Bob in it. Bob was only nice to new guys when a) he knew he the back office wouldn’t put up with him bullying that person, or b) they were legit tough guys. Guaranteed, if Lesnar or Angle were contestants in Tough enough, he wouldn’t have beaten them to a pulp for smiling in a practice match.
Do you think either of those two would be fooling around as much in a practice match? early Lesnar and Angle took the business seriously to an extent... other people just want to fool around and he probably saw the young bucks and channeled his rage against all the ballet wrestlers
@@aoisora1445 and that makes it right. Marty Jennety used to smile all the time in his matches, let alone practice matches, yet he was wrestling long before and after Sparkplug. The man is just a massive prick with a chip on his shoulder because he didn’t have what it took to make it big in the business.
Pretty sure Holly tried to sandbag Lesnar and regretted it
Bob Holly was no Steve Blackman, that guy was proper legit.
What's wrong with Blackman ? Blackman was legit too right ?
Bob holly wrestled a bear
@@BogalaSawundiris he's saying Bob isn't legit, Blackman is

Everyone in the world has a podcast nowadays
Two things can be true. You can be a locker room leader while abusing your power and being a bully
Holly was basically WWE's drill sergeant. The industry is loaded with douchebag bullies and he's arguably the biggest one. If you're a rookie and you can put up with him, you're ready.
Bob and JBL
Lmao
Of course Bob was not going to try to rough up Kurt Angle.
Kurt was so protected he made raven apologize and he didn't even work for the company. Dude has no idea how privileged he was.
@@thecryptkeeper5 But even without the protection Kurt could still kick your ass. So that probably also played a role.
He didn't try that shit with Bart Gunn did he? Or Shamrock, or Lesnar. Or actually he did try with Lesnar and paid the price for it.
Did lesnar beat him up?
@@empirezz2728 He tried to sandbag Brock and Brock slammed him on his neck which broke it 😂
bro must be beyond dense to see Lesnar and try to bully him lol
The one I remember was the 2005 Rumble match. Started with Eddie and Benoit, the that tough enough winner Daniel Puder came out and eddie and Benoit just start laying into him. Holly comes out at 4 and asks the other two to let him handle it, and proceeds to beat the holy hell out of Puder, gave him the stiffest Alabama slam I've ever seen and sent him packing.
All because Puder put Angle in a key lock. Well, that and he was a kind of a prick.
Bob was the receipt.
I don't fault Holly for that one. Puder was an assclown
But overall he (Holly) seems like a complete tool.
And if you had locked Puder in a room with each of those guys individually, he wipes the floor with all of them.
@Michael Euthanasia Lesnar can't even shit properly. Never mind no one even mentioned him.
@Michael Euthanasia what does Lesnar have to do with anything? It was about Eddie, Benoit, and Holly.
Nice way to conclude the clip, haha.
I saw one of those dark matches in Columbus OH...circa 97, maybe?...awesome, Kurt wasn't wearing the singlet then...3weeks later...Kurt Angle on TV in the onesey...again - awesome.
Bob almost prevented the Benoit murders on friday
I still think he sandbagged Brock Lesnar in 2002
Even though both of them say no?

Well yeah he's not gonna beat up a fan at a meet and greet and get charged. He would bully people under him in the business, and everyone let him.

Pretty much that. A narcissistic dbag would love the attention and obviously he would be a lot nicer about that because it feels good to be loved.

Obviously you don’t understand what these guys go through. That kid was disrespectful and arrogant. He deserved it.
@@TomStrohOptimalDailyLiving If Mike Tyson makes a joke out of the business is Bob Holly gonna attack him? No.
Point is, Bob only attacked because he knew he was bigger and stronger than the kid and the kid couldn't fight back. That is what a Bully is, if it was a real tough guy Bob would sit there and take it as a joke.
You have to hold yourself to a certain standard as a man. If you are going to retaliate against someone because they make fun of something that is dear to you, you must be consistant with the retaliation, it doesn't matter if he's bigger and stronger than you, you must hold yourself to that standard, otherwise you're a punk and a bully.
Bob was that dude 😂
Hardcore Holly strikes me as someone who was just bitter about his career in the WWE and took it out on others because of jealousy or some other reason. He was always jobbing and appearing on shows like Velocity. He never even had much of a midcard run.
He was bland in the extreme.
Didn’t Bob Holly and Rikishi date for a while?
Yeah, but Rikishi was just doing it for the rock.
Punk said something very similar saying Bob was an enforcer on the locker room
Puder could have killed Bob, Eddie and Chris if he wanted to. Steroid muscles don't mean shit to actual fighting training.
Remember when Daniel Puder went on to a great fighting career beating the shit out of people? Yeah neither do I. He was entertaining for a while but he was no tough guy.
No, This isn't the movies where people come at you one at a time
Daniel is a disrespectful cheap-shot artist with a poor attitude, never made it to any notable level in mixed martial arts, and is an utter failure in wrestling. Who by the way was not mentioned in the clip.

@@WilliamWolfrath 1 on 1 he would in fact have killed those guys, and yes he was in fact a tough guy. he was a professional MMA fighter. These are not locker room stories that can't be proven. Puder's abilities are on record and available.
To this day Daniel Puder's chest still has Bob Holly's handprints all over.
1:54 besides The Undertaker 😂
you guys think bob holly was never given the green light on some people? And dont forget about some others like Vince Russo making the brawl for all purposely for the sake of Bradshaw getting his ass kicked, he may not have been a new guy but it was a shoot. Or what about puder getting his ass kicked by beniot , eddie, and holly in the rumble. Cuz he was getting heat in the back. Wrestling was different back then, it may not be perfect but todays wrestling culture is so much better and im glad it is.
Bob came to my parents home for dinner one night and he was a nice fella. He even left me tickets for me and my stepson and Brother. He is a quiet person that was very respectful to us. I think that's what he is about. Respect. If you give it you get it back.
Sparky Plug was the best!
Love Kurt and would love to watch his show but the amount of commercials is ridiculous.
Butt Plug Bob 😂😂😂

OK so... a few months ago, Kurt told Rene he didn't deserve that one. Now he says that Bob only roughed up young guys who deserved it. Not sure which one to believe.
From what I've heard, the Rene incident was an exception, as in far worse than the other accusations. Because I've heard the "Bob only roughed up those that deserved it" from quite a few wrestlers lol. But I think the Big Shot got humbled BIG TIME after the Brock Lesnar sandbagging incident lol
Kurt stepped in after Bob went too far.
@@CrackDCat There was no sandbagging involved

A lot of newbies wrestlers and wrestlers coming from the indies that has a bloated head and ego, Bob Sparkplug Holly is there teach them humility and paying your dues!
I remember Angle and Holly had a dawg ass match on Smackdown after Holly came back from an elbow injury. Of course Holly lost, but beleiveably.
For a guy who was well over 400 lbs, Bob Holly could go.
Remember when BH was NASCAR driver turned wrestler "Sparky Plugg"? Wth were Vince & the writers drinking when they pooped that turd out.

Damn, Kurt looks and sounds 60
Well he's 54 so that's hardly an insult.
Tough love. He look like a guy that has a heart and don’t let shit slide.
He looked like an alcoholic beating his kids every time he got the Chance
I think Bob was just pissed he wasn't a main eventer and took it out on younger talent. He had pretty much no charisma and the look of an electrical worker
I heard Paul London talk about the Holly and Rene Dupree incident on Rene Dupree yt channel. And the more I hear about bob Holly the more I lose respect for him. He was a bully.
Oh, so it was OK that Rene got all those tickets on Bob's account?
Is it really a chip on your shoulder thinking you're better than Bob Holly? Can't cut a promo and boring in the ring. He kept getting nearly pushes that went nowhere as the crowd were dead for him. He didn't even have a proper singles title run - not even the European or IC title. Why would anybody new respect him?
A lot of burner accounts
I feel sorry for Crash Holly
The better holly. Bob had a good drop kick and a chop. Rest of his work was super fucking mid. he gets points for longevity but not enough to off set how big a pathetic scum bag he is. Bottom of the barrel human for sure. Shocking he stopped coaching soon as the MMA guys started coming in.
@@thecryptkeeper5 ngl but the alabama slam looked vicious
Would Hardcore Holly try and bully Mike Tyson?
Holly beating up Daniel Puder with eddie and benoit at the royal rumble showed them all to be assholes.
I don’t get the Bob Holly heat. Did he go a tad overboard, yes. But I think he was right to be mad about them laughing and making a joke out of the industry he worked in. I also do think everyone who’s calling him a bully is the reason why disrespect online is rampant. There’s no threat of someone getting punched in the mouth. So it scares people when they see Bob Holly holding someone accountable for BS
This was the true Era of wrestling people got excited maybe it is social media etc...but something about coming to the the tv.. tnt or smackdown or raw or wcw or wwe or wwf.... something spectacular you can't copy.. wow. Wht a time to be alive that propelled athlete/stars to so many platforms. Seriously amazing those guys dominate so much of the industry they had no access to. Truly a gift
No one paid to watch Hardcore Holly wrestle just a guy who happened to be employed in the early years
Facts. Not one kid had a poster of Hard-core Holly on their wall growing up.
Bob Holly was a boring, chinless, bully that got humbled by Lesnar, lmao.
Man, that's spot on right there.
dude liked to believed he was someone
I remember in an interview they were reading questions from the public to bob and one of them ask something like why is he so stiff or doesnt keep the guys safe and he went on a mini rant that ended with ''and thats why I made it big and you didn't. The interviewer then awkwardly said ''that question was made by Bret Hart by the way'' to wich bob only responded ''oohh''
I think that’s silly. Think of it if it’s an action movie. It’s ok to assault people because you don’t like their attitude? That’s ridiculous
Bull that guy was a bully and had anger issues, how is physical violence the answer for everything to him
Did the guy in Tough Enough have a chip on his shoulder? I don't think so. Holly was a bully.
as a wrestler yeah he has talent, mid card, but Holly as a person is a pos bully, grown man beating up talent, who is freely giving you his body lol.
He seemed to be rough with everyone. Very strong style esq, but not dangerous.
Bob was underrated and undervalued
i want bob holly to beat me up also .. i need a life lesson .. am dressed in full pvc ere
Its easier for guys like Kurt to not notice the bullies because bullies wont try anything they legit know they cant beat. I met a lot of ignorant people like that.
I was a big hardcore holly fan as a kid so all the stuff about him being a jackass really sucks
I didn’t like how he took liberties with Matt from tough enough, he beat the crap out of him on purpose
Bob was mid card level talent and couldn’t cut a promo to save his life. He’s mostly known for beating up an inexperienced kid on a reality show like a douche bag.
Bob Holly was the junkyard dog.
Bob was a really solid worker. He moved well for a bigger guy and his work was crisp. Bob was good in the gatekeeper role as you could count on him to have solid matches with young and up and coming talent. That's why he would get booked against Angle, Edge, Christian and the Hardys in the Attitude Era, against Orton, Dupree, London and Kendrick in the Ruthless Aggression era and against Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase Jr, Lance Cade, and Trevor Murdoch in the PG era. You need guys like Bob to toughen up the younger talent. Eddie, Benoit, Taker, the Dudleyz and Jericho all would do the same.
His problem was that he was really abrasive and rough around the edges and would make your life a living hell if he thought you slighted him. Poor Rene Dupree got his ass kicked over the issue of an unpaid parking ticket or something.
Bully Bob.
Bigger guy? Oh yeah, Bob The Barely Six Foot Giant. Great gimmick!
angle looks exactly the same too

Unless the young man happened to be Brock Lesnar :D
It's not surprising he didn't try to bully an Olympic wrestler. Cowards never try to punch up.
I think some people don’t get it. It’s called respect for the business and Bob clearely held respect for the business and this is way he was taught to install it in new generation. I imagine some of them appreciate it as they got older when u see all the grind these men and woman go through. Respect the business or leave simple as
