I hope Markstrom doesn’t go to the Leafs, just a waste of assets on a goalie that’s most likely at the end of his prime, I think a better fit as rumoured and has mutual interest in the leafs is Brossoit because he’s only 30 and has a few more years left and this makes the net more competitive for both goalies and Brossoit has been pretty solid his last two season even though he’s been limited to lower amount of games
If the leafs get markstom they heavily overpaid cuz the Calgary flames owners hate brad
More to add about Demidov...altough yes he has signed a contract in the past with the SKA, he apparently said to each team he was interviewed that he is not interested to sign another and wants to play in the league next year...unlike Matvei Mitchkov who kept it super vague and was a pure mystery at the draft. Most team didn't have data on Mitchkov, but now they do with Demidov. He's a very different player too. Also the GM of SKA was very confrontational about it, it was sign or nothing so...The only thing i see to make him drop under the 6 is if the team above the Habs all take defensemen and the Habs have better data on another player like Lindstrom, Catton or Iginla. I think the Blue Jackets are the key since the Hawks and Duck might pock defenseman. Will be interresting !
Nobody leaves Russia anymore if Putler doesnt aprove. So yeah, he stays in the army owned team just like Michkov unless he loves to go on to the war as stormtrooper.

As a Devils fan, I kinda hope your Markstrom prediction comes true. He makes me nervous. 35 by next All Star Break, 6 million a year, and he's been one of the most inconsistent goalies in the league since joining Calgary. Meh in his first season, brilliant in his 2nd, god awful in his third, and this past season started great, finished terribly. I would much rather prefer Ulmark, with the dream being Saros. Those guys are younger, and have been much more consistent the last half decade. I would happily sign Saros to 8 mill a year. Ulmark less, but only because he hasn't shown he could handle a 50-55 game workload. But he hasn't shown he can't either, it's just that the Bruins had two great goalies.
As a fellow Devils fan I completely agree! I would love to have Saros! I have serious reservations about Markstrom like you. Wouldn't be the ideal choice imo.
Habs fan are talking a lot about Demidov at #5, then again, we never know, we weren't expecting Reinbacher at #5 last time either.

Kanes staying in Detroit
I'd bet Tarasenko re-signs in Florida over Kane going there.

BOLD PREDICTION: Patrick Kane will leave Detroit and Steve Yzerman will sign Steven Stamkos to fill the role Kane played.
Kane needed to prove he can play and be effective and can make more with a Cup contender. Yzerman drafted Stamkos, they know each other very well, Stamkos knows Coach Lalonde well. If Tamps continues to offend Stamkos during negotiations, he won't go anywhere that doesn't have some familiarity.
As much as I would hate to see Kane go, I would also love to see Stamkos as a Red Wing
Stamkos was drafted first overall in the 2008 draft. Yzerman was hired by Tampa Bay before the 2009-2010 season. Yzerman did not draft Stamkos.
A Holl buyout this summer didn't even sound like a bold prediction when this contract was signed to be fair 😂

This has a zero chance of happening. Kane is signing a 3-4 yr contract. He already said that term is priority. I can see many destinations but Florida isn’t one of them.

If not Markstrom, you dont know who else? I'd say the other dark horse for Toronto would be Saros, though Im sure the cost to acquire him would be much higher.
Demidov will decidedly be top 5. The Habs organization have been very interested in him to the point of rumors about trading up. If he isnt top 4 he'll go at five.
as a flames fan, i would do a trade for mitch +markstrom there is room there for a blockbuster style trade
and it would benefit both partys. i think it would be sick tbh

Wdym reinhart is going to be the biggest free agent on the market because he almost had a 60 goal season
Montreal will pick a defenseman in the draft (one of levshunov, Silayev of Dickinson) and trade ghule + draft pick(s) to Anaheim for Trevor Zegras
I think the Hawks are going to stick with Demidov as the #2 pick.

L take on Markstrom getting dealt to Toronto. I can see him getting dealt to the New Jersey as the most likely destination for Markstrom

I hear people say the Senators are in on Ullmark and Markstrom, but honestly as good as they are, I don’t know how I feel about the Sens going all in on another goalie. Murray and Talbot both flopped and they’ve just been eating those losses. I’m pretty sure Korpisalo still has 4 years left at 4 mill per….are they giving up more assets to get rid of that contract? Remember that the Sens are still in this never ending rebuild partly because they gave up picks and prospects for assets that have flopped…DeBrincat especially. They gotta be a bit more careful. I think they just gotta make it work with Korpisalo. I do believe Korpi is capable of giving the Sens at least average goaltending if the team in front of him tightens up a bit
Yeah, I don't know why people are so high on Markstrom. He's good but he's old, and we all know when a goalie falls off it happens very quickly most of the time. I could see someone being super interested in Markstrom if he was a lot cheaper than he's going to be. Ullmark however is probably going to be a good goalie for years to come.

Necas stays in Carolina, they take a step back over the next one-two years and emerge stronger with a developed Scott Morrow and Jackson Blake

They absolutely would go for him if Reinhart and Guentzel don't (re-)sign in FLA. Meanwhile if they want him to replace Tarasenko, that idea is destined to fail because he'd play on 3rd line behind Reinhart/Guentzel and Tkachuk which he's not gonna be willing to do
@@moappleseider1699 he did it with his Chicago buddy Alex DeBrincat, he's not familiar with whoever he'd play with in FLA and he for sure won't replicate those numbers if he gets stapled to Lundell and Luostarinen and put out of PP1
