one of my favourite songs from the album. And the video is so fitting to it. Yet although its such a nice dance song the meaning behind it should make you think and reflect. Love this clash of opposites
It's a great song and a video that suits him perfectly, handling the double intention, being serious and playing, playing and being serious, I love them 🥰.
This is the only Rammstein song that the more I listen to it the less I like it... It has become the one song I keep skipping over when I have this album running :o It's not like the song is awful or anything and I liked it the first handful of times I heard it but I don't think it fits on the album at all and the placement seems... weird? Anyway, I do think it's a fine party track and I know people who has no interest in Rammstein music who has/had it on their "weekend playlist", surely enjoying it before going to the pub! But I don't drink anymore so my reaction to that type of music is always a bit more negative then the average person :d
@@ifeelnothing2 that's totally normal buddy. I have those songs to and to be honest this one is one of those songs. but that's why we love rammstein, they ain't afraid to do something weird and different, perhaps something they've wanted to do for themselves. I don't know but I totally agree with you on that one.
@@ifeelnothing2 No worries, everyone has favorite and less favorite songs, even from their favorite bands. :) It's true it is a bit more "party" sounding.
Making a satire out of it is the only way to deal with racism. it was the motif of the refugee boat that framed the music video. Because it starts with Rammstein arriving on an island in a rubber dinghy and it ends with all the band members leaving the island on the rubber dinghy, with the exception of Flake, who is first forgotten and then held back. Which is a lot of cliché, fits damn well with the lyrics of the song and the associated meta level. Because: On a lyrical level, the song is clear. It's about globality instead of nationality. About the German cosmopolitan traveling abroad. About the German globetrotter as an enemy. About someone who wants to impress the ladies in foreign countries with pseudo-worldly gibberish. This is exactly what they wanted to emphasize by using authentic materials on both sides, as explained further in the making-of video. For example, Flake's (historical) silk suit still said "Deutsch-Südwest-Afrika", a German colony in what is now Namibia. Arriving on the island, the white colonialists give Rammstein to a tribe of black natives. And they don't leave out any clichés. germany colonies in africa T The German colonial empire included parts of today's People's Republic of China, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Namibia, Cameroon, Gabon, Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, Chad, Nigeria, Togo, Ghana, Papua New Guinea, and several islands in the western Pacific and Micronesia.
Yeah, I'm trying to keep it easy to find for an international audience, that's why I don't add accents (Not even sure if that makes sense). The only time I might do it is for different alphabets altogether as you may have noticed with my videos in Russian or Japanese.
@@recentisland1513 Oh yeah, that, forget it, I gave up on that. My worry was that while maybe today RUclips is not against, it could be that in a year they decide all nudity must be banned from YT and they take the video down but I guess we'll worry about when we get there.
Since you are also doing covers and such, maybe you would enjoy RadioTapok, a Russian artist who made Russian versions of many Rammstein songs and he does the music videos as well! Thanks for all the great reactions
Also I realized another level of the meaning now.In a way they are mocking the English colonizers, whos colonizing in fact was actually worse than the German ones, who were in many cases much more just for the locals too and betterl organised 😉

Well said. As always with Rammstein, you get multiple meanings.

Yup, yup.
1:19 Christoph Schneider falling into the water
LoL! How did you even catch that! :D
Once I read that the blond little girl is Schneider's daughter :)
I think it's Schneiders son. He is a father of three sons, no daughters, as far as I know 🤷♀️🙂
Cool. :) (Boy according to the comment below, LoL!)
They just can't do no wrong in my book. Hey Klavier and alter Mann are also really good. ...hint. ..hint 😉
Also, first again lol
Agreed. Yeah, they are both on my list, LoL.

I think the name on the dinghy is funny. The MS in "MS Rammstein" could stand for "Muscle Ship" or "Musician Ship".
LoL, nice!
If you don't have the umlaut ("ä") available, replace it with its basic letter followed by an "e" ("ä" = "ae") , hence it should be "Auslaender". :)

I can't wait for you to react to Hilf Mir and Hallomann. Very great vid!
Thank you. For sure, they're ocming.
Rammstein-Amour
Yup, on the list.
well the videos are already on youtube without being censored
The video is not the problem, it's the audio. For whatever reason, in my case, the video gets automatically blocked because of the audio.

I think they are really mocking the oddity of the entire colonial era & modern racism in general.
