It's an interesting question, just from a general filmic perspective. I would say having combat experience clearly can't hurt- if a filmmaker has firsthand combat experience and sets out to make a war film. But it's kind of complicated. The first filmmaker with combat experience who comes to mind is Sam Fuller. Sam Fuller is important for several reasons. First, he inspired countless great filmmakers, like Quentin Tarantino and Tim Robbins. And he was also one of the first successful writers who directed his own scripts. Fuller's combat experience was extensive, including the D-Day Normandy invasion. He made a film about these experiences, *The Big Red One* which was gutted by the studio upon release in 1980, but subsequently got a well-received "Apocalypse Now"-style director's cut re-release several years ago on dvd. It's a good film, some people consider it one of the greatest war films of all time. I like it, but I've never loved it. And, maybe paradoxically, for all of Fuller's firsthand experience, I would still say his depiction of the Normandy invasion pales in comparison to Spielberg's depiction 2 decades later in *Saving Private Ryan* despite the fact that Spielberg does not have a second's worth of military experience whatsoever. There is actually an endless parade of great war films that have been made by filmmakers who never picked up a weapon in their lives, films like Kubrick's "Paths of Glory" or Paul Verhoeven's "Soldier of Orange". So, I would say combat experience CAN clearly lend a filmmaker valuable intuition and insight when making a war film. Oliver Stone's *Platoon* and Jean-Pierre Melville's *Army of Shadows* are two GREAT examples of films made by men about wars they fought in themselves (Stone as an American infantryman during the Vietnam War, Melville as a resistance fighter in occupied France during WW2). But that personal experience is not always necessarily required to produce war films that matter.
Interesting point. I think that may be because war films are made for civilians, and therefore must at least partially coincide with the civilian idea of what war is like to be considered successful. So, you need to be a good filmmaker to do this, and not necessarily a veteran. Although, I'm sure being a veteran who can film/direct/write or at least having a veteran reference on set greatly helps increase the caliber of the film.
Cinema and reality is definitely very different. There are many historic footage from WW2 and none of the ones I’ve seen look anything like the famous epic war scenes. It makes sense since real life military operations that lasts for days and can take place over hundreds of kilometres of front lines while a movie lasts several hours in limited space.
Surely do the *Spiderman Impersonator Olympics* with Peter in it. For one of the competitions either replicate the school scene where he catches all the stuff on the tray or just make it that whoever catches the most wins that round.
That real talk at the end of the video got me all emotional. That was a great touch to end the video. It’s something I always think about with those who have gone through war and have come home to normal life with these experiences that scar them the rest of their lives. I have such respect for those who have served and I’m thankful for their sacrifices.

@Dalton Nah man, the CG Artists React series is getting old and feels like a sellout. It's feels scripted or rehearsed. Their recent antics in the studio with Clint, Wes and the broken TV also feels forced and staged. It's almost like they're forcing content for views these days. The older stuff like the BTS of the primitive zombie series are good content, and so are their older antics around the studio that feels more natural and impromptu. That was almost a year ago.

Corridor and BRC: the combo I didn't know I needed. Thanks!
I'm happy to see Jake with a bigger role in the vlogs again.
just rewatched a bunch of your older stuff and thoug "man im tired of the react stuff" and you delivered at the next refresh
One of the best crossovers yet
“This is the big truck it goes vroom” 10:35
“Have fun, life is so short, there’s no dress rehearsal.” RT! 👏
Marine Vet here to say: much love 🙏🏽
"What's wrong with me just givin dudes compliments on their backs?!" Haha fucking made me lol so hard. Nothing wrong with that!!
*Correction:* _2 combat veterans AND a RUclips veteran._
BRCC fans know what's up. 😉
I'm actually curious here, which one is the youtube?
Mat, JT, Logan, Evan, Eli, and Crispy are all combat veterans. Richard is the youtube veteran lol
@@maybetoby I was referring to the _"veterans react to military movies"_ in which there's only three of them.
@@PACKERMAN2077 lol gotcha 👍
I kinda had to dial down how much I watched videos like yours cause I’d get too envious of both your real and unreal firearms.
"full suck, full chuck" is the new full send
That talk at the end was inspirational as hell lol. Good work guys
I watched this commercial yesterday and it was SO dope! I had no idea you guys shot it. Well done lads!
Two of my favourite companies working together. Pure Gold!
“How intense do you want the intro?”
Corridor Crew: “Yes”
You guys didn’t show us their “non-air soft” gun room!
Vet here, I like everything you guys do and dont view you as posers.
10/10 on th content you make
I remember we had 3 days of filming for this small advertisement with a veeery limited budget, this video reminded me of when there was literally 1 or 2 times you can do a scene and you need to absolutely nail it.
Well many of the clips didn't go as planned but thanks to our editor it came out well
I love the behind the scenes as much as the actual vids. These are guys are awesome!
I LOVE how they bring on jake, I mean they need a mann translator right?
6:13 his facial expression was perfect.
Jake suddenly looks about 5 years younger without the beard, lol ;)
@Ken Nuppenau The fuck?!
@Ken Nuppenau yes I can. But I don't get why you would say something like that. You do realize Jake is a real human and not some fictional character, right?
@Ken Nuppenau You're weird af
This is an awesome, surprising and IMPORTANT video to make. Good combination of fun, informative, and important messages. Thanks for being willing to work with the guys at Black Rifle, a lot of other RUclips channels would find them "taboo". Godspeed Corridor!
Loved this! Thank you, Corridor Crew, for being so transparent with your projects!
"hardcore Henry," yall should watch and go through scenes.
Fuck yes, that movie is insane!
8:30 is he cosplaying as Ethan from H3H3 😂
Quality shade thrown
Mat being emotional and serious meanwhile I'm loosing it over the fact that he is being serious but wearing a robe at the same time 🤣
This is prob the best video to come out on this channel yet, it hits all the boxes and checks all the marks of emotions
Both Mat's channel and Corridor were in the first few I started following on youtube. I'm just so happy you guys are working together. I hope there's gonna be a lot more!
This is real content, something that's been missing for the last year or so.
Sam’s got that DiCaprio hair and beard, circa “The Revenant”.
"This is gonna hurt, but still gonna send it" - me every time I shoot my sawed off Mosin...
This was a great video, guys. A great mix of comedy, bts, and emotional talk from all the guys. Loved it :)
I started watching black rifle coffee veterans react after your VFX artists react videos. And now you're working together! This is great.
Will you colorize black and white footage or react to some?
Jake : We are here at the ranch today
Me : ah shit here wo again
Never thought I'd both laugh and cry during a BTS vid
Im so stoked they picked you guys to do this. I love their coffee and hav watched plenty of mat best videos for years.
Great work guys. Thank you so much to you and the veterans that gave us this video. Ya'll are the shit you animals! Much love to all you guys and the work you put into this.
Absolutely great that Corridor are happy to work with a company that funds the alt-right! Really fucking ethical.
So fucking disingenuous. This collab happened LONG before this whole Kyle Rittenhouse shit.
the case of the broken tv was just solved some after this
haha *sam gets sprayed in the face with spit-coffee*
"Alright"
It was a honor working with y’all 🤘🏽
Seeing two of my favorite things BRCC and Corridor Crew collaborating...my world is happy.
" We give Combat veterans PTSD "
Me: I dare you to rob the black rifle coffee company
Friend: thats cake my guy
Friend: *gets obliterated
Could you do a VFX react to "The Irishman" on netflix cus I'm pretty sure they had to make Robert De Niro look younger and it looks slightly weird at times
I was going to say the same thing.
and don't forget to point out joe pesci's de-aging and domenick lombardozzi's makeup!
The fact that you're only pretty sure is kind of a testament to how well they did imo
I am very glad you did this comercial colab with black rifle coffee. I support this all the way!
It's awesome seeing you guys doing what you do, having fun with it, getting creative, and churning out some great-looking work while operating under fairly strict limitations. Hope all of you keep having success and enjoying it.
This association will backfire...
