8:57 That's contact while heading to Sperwan Ghar. It is in the Zhari Panjwai disrict and it is one of the most fucked parts of AFG. I'm kind of shocked neither of you have heard of it. It used to be a Canadian AO from 08 and before, but we(US) took it over in 09. A LOT of missions were ran out of that AO in that time, and there was a lot of SOF activity in the area for a good long while. It is TIC country.
Both of you clearly made some effort to watch that footage. The more you watched the more your faces began to change, be careful. That shit creeps up on you and your mind gets out of line.
Luck and being at the right place/time is why soldiers come back home. Anybody can be taken out without even knowing. Thank you all for your sacrifices.
Seeing footage like close calls brings back memories. My first tour in Iraq in 05 had a RPG skip across the hood of our truck, and one hit the door and cone caved in. had a dud grenade land between my legs during a dismount in Abu Ghraib. Lol EOD just had to take it apart and show me how close the fuse was, barely a 1/16 left lol. Had another truck in the company a shape charge missed the tc through the windo and lodged in between the turret ring and roof.
Princess PooPee I dove waiting for it to go off. Looking back it, i wouldn’t have made the dive. Me and my trucks gunner was all the time throwing rocks at each other to make sure we was awake. It hit me in the back of the head and I thought it was my gunner. I even asked him if it was. For some reason I looked down and there it was.

I’d recommend nick Irving’s book “the reaper” to anyone interested in his story. I haven’t read a full book in over 12 years (saving private Ryan) and I just opened the reaper three days ago. I’ve read about two hours each day since and I’m about 3/4 way through. He’s laughing, but the stuff that goes on in their heads and the stuff they’ve experienced, that’s probably just a way of coping with trauma. Anyways. Good read if you’re interested.

FiSTers, eyes of death balls of steel. Rain death from above! Proud to be a former 13Fox20. All as a PFC then a CPL. Due to shortage of personnel I had to perform the duties of a full FSS(13Fox20) instead of just being the radio guy for the FSS, also with no “radio guy” so performed both duties at once. It was challenging sure but even with the slightest effort I was the best Fox in the Battalion. RA thanks I never knew that. Could you please cite your sources so I could tell that to the families of my friends who lost life and limb for the country? I think they might shoot me if I show up without a peer reviewed source, especially since they birthed, raised, and nurtured future war criminals. I’m honestly a bit scared. Maybe I could give you their addresses and you could tell them yourself? If you feel so strongly about it that is. Personally, I think I’m a little to new to this school of thought to make a good martyr - if I die for the cause people might call bullshit, that I was only in the group for a couple days and I was only faking it. I’d love to see nick as a guest on hot ones.. just to change up the settings for him and see if he can handle hot wings lol I think that would be dope.
This!! That would be another solid episode, for sure
see how he acts under pressure I like tht I to would watch tht video
Those hot wings would be nothing for Reaper. He chewed hot lead and listen to him. "That was good times"
@Danny Carvajal maybe.. maybe not! I’d still love to see him take on the challenge & show a diff perspective of him besides ppl just being interested in the kills or his military background, bc besides that he really does have a dope personality & id like to see him do more than just talk abt guns & his kills ya kno??
uhhhh... okay?
bro will you watch my platoon the day i was medievac'd..its called contact troy d dec 27 worst day of my life!
Hell I'll watch it
Dang. your the Kinney then who busted his ankle jumping in that ditch with the AG gear?
Seems like it was a nightmare though, cant fucking imagine.
Thank you for your service sir 🙏 from Canada 🇨🇦
Seen it before. The NAT guard is too inconsistent on their training standards. Some are high speed are others may as well have never knew a thing. I say this as someone who was never in though, so maybe I shouldn't judge them but seriously.
god damn, what a bad deal. video quality is good and audio is amazing. sorry you hard to go through that.
If it's the same one I'm thinking of, a couple guys were apparently getting shot at by their own guys. You could also hear the bullets whizzing by
a wanna say that the mystery rifle you've had trouble identifying both times is an m16a4
Pretty sure you’re right
Yeah youre right 👍.
Yes I would agree. A4 with a 22 inch barrel. Kinda hard to see by the looks of the optic that may be the set up.
Yea looks like a M16 A4 he is using. As for what he is he may be that seasoned E-3,E-4 fresh of a Article hahaha. But for sure a M16 A4..
It might be a Mk-12 SPR though I'm not sure
its crazy to think a lot of those guys where having their own engagements with the enemy. some winning, some losing. RIP
I don't feel qualified to look at this guy, due to his badassery. I bow to you sir.
I bought the book, recieved it yesterday and already read it. Embarrassed to say it's the 1st book I've ever read in my life, with that being said, I found myself unable to stop reading it. All the shit you went through I felt everyone could relate to at least some of it. Thank you
What's the book called???
Earned, "my journey to Becoming a hunter of man"
" a higher calling " is a cool book. Its two perspectives, starts with a German pilot and then an american bomber at the end it connects them. Basically the German escorted the American bomber out of Germany. If the German downed it he would got a special medal for 50 air combat kills. Of course he doesnt shoot it down but its a great read. I dont read often at all either. Finished it in like 8 hours
Drill sergeant: did your father serve in the war?. Recruit: yes.. drill sergeant: does he ever talk about it?. Recruit: no he doesn't. Drill sergeant: then he probably wasn't lying...
Killing massive amounts of innocents will fuck you up forever. Serves them right for the atrocities committed.

Yeah ok but I understood maybe 2% of what you said lol
@@Niko-zn4jq TLDR it is a bad place and the Canadians held it down like fucking champs before we got there.

“Bro tryna see my kill cam”
Love how calm Bono speaks to Lewis. So happy for the whole Team! 🎉
Both of you clearly made some effort to watch that footage. The more you watched the more your faces began to change, be careful. That shit creeps up on you and your mind gets out of line.
Luke bro you didn't seem to well at the end of this video take it easy watching combat footage like this for long periods. Enjoy your New Year's.
Luck and being at the right place/time is why soldiers come back home. Anybody can be taken out without even knowing. Thank you all for your sacrifices.
you know you've done some badass shit when they name you "The Reaper" in military
@Tyler Roberts really?
He’s squad gave him that name lol he did a interview and explained it ..
@Tyler Roberts No they didn’t lol
Standing Salute to you two for your service. I can't imagine
One of my squad leaders then PSG was one of his sniper instructors during Sniper school lol. We just talked about Irving this past weekend
Something was definitely watching over you. Have you bought any lottery tickets? Lol
террорист
That's crazy im glad that grenade was a dud. I would've died from the heart attack😂
That's divine intervention or something, thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Nick you are a fucking legend bruh. Thank you both, and thank you to your battle buddies that were with you.
I know what those bracelets mean on your wrist. GOD Bless both of you and thank you for your service. 💯🙏🏾❤️

Hurts me to watch these guys relive their trauma and watching them both deal differently. Both obviously still healing 😔
Ah yes.. The maniac laugh is how most people deal with trauma. Thats the most retarded thing i have ever heard.
@@Mikael-jt1hk You'd be surprised if you were bothered to do some research instead of a first page google search.
Brother I’m just watching you guys for the first time and I subscribed I know this contest is over but with all the BS going in this world I can honestly say words could not describe the respect that everyone and anyone that has put in for our freedom and I’m sure ts too late to ask if I can go hang out with you guys but it would be an honor even have a conversation based on what it’s truly like to hear what missions were like. After all if you’re able to change one persons view on what the reality is on the field you’ve accomplished your objective.
I hope to hear from you guys even if it’s not soon I hope you’re all well and good health.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Best regards, respectfully

Saw a video of this dude where he was critiquing sniper shots from movies...dude was pulling some ridiculous mathematical calculations regarding shooting accuracy and some other shit...this brother’s knowledge is on some level unlike any bro.✌🏿
Great respect to him,✌🏿🇿🇦
It’s his scope. It helps him calculate.
2009? i was in terrin kwot (TK), Afghanistan in the helmond region (south) in April and we left march 2010....cool that seeing someon on youtube who was in afghanistan when i was shit we mightve seen each other at bragg in passing or something. i was with the 82nd cab with the apaches
Thank you guys and everyone who served for your service you are appreciated by a lot of folks!❤

Some people in the comments says he has PTSD and laughing is a way of coping with negative feelings.
SonicXxXBurn Alright i wasn’t sure
That last guy man. Damn. Everytime i watch that the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. He's good.
I am a veteran myself, soldiers don't glorify it by talking about it and/or showing how it really is. Soldiers are the ones that bear the scars of war and always strive for peace. With that said combat footage and journalism is super important. I do appreciate you guys sharing this with the world. Lastly thank you both for serving! America and I appreciate you!
I laughed at the comment about 3rd ID. My best friend (may he rest in peace) served in 1/75 and had some pretty bad experiences with them.
In any regard. Thank you both for your service. God Bless you both and glad you are home
Love these type of videos man. Video of you guys yesterday putting in work on the range was awesome too
FiSTers, eyes of death balls of steel.
It was embarrassing how little the others knew and how inept they were at the job, even just basic Call For Fire…
Anyway. I’m glad you know what a FiSTer is and that you mentioned us. HOOAH
That moment when you have watched almost every one of these videos
Rob, I emailed your business email with a lead on contacting Ryan Blum (the guy who had a bunch of good firefight footage in the last combat video).
It’s really weird how hyped Lunkers gets over that footage...
I do airsoft it's now were near the same but I can imagine ppl like war because if the adrenalin rush once u learn how to use ur adrenaline u can have some insane fun with it
Not really a lot of vets are like that they also come home and jump out of planes and wingsuit jumping it's the thrill of putting your life on the line
People join the military/special forces to shoot evil people in the face. It’s exciting. Not to mention I’m sure it’s a fuckin rush to relive those intense moments. Don’t be such a pussy
The way that sergeant kneeled there like nothing happened when that round literally blew up right in front of them. Good god
It is easy to become numb to it.
I just got the notification while watching it

This guy is definitely badass to say the least. I like watching his interviews
Need to make it available to Australia! Love ya content mate.
If they dont make it available in Australia you can use a vpn. Just pick a server in the US and watch it that way.
Go online bro lol you ment his book or these videos

I was referring to the competition.
@JeremyK 541OR. Nah, yeah nah....

To understand this mode of thinking, check out “On killing” by Dave Grossman. Explains how some soldiers love killing and why.
I can see how these solders get ptsd from this shit, bullets flying and your praying you don't get dropped
This is awesome, i wish i didnt change my mind when i was young about joining the marines.
Where u not scared of dying
@3:30 ..."fighting ghost". Definitely. Out of 20 - 30 fire fights I only clearly saw Taliban once or twice. At most we had dust signatures from their muzzles or muzzle flash. The fog of war is real. There's no worse feeling than being pinned down and having no clue where the enemy is.
Awesome videos Rob, as always loving them 🔥
We love you guys. Thank you for serving for us. I know it weighs heavily on your minds. I personally am deeply sorry that our nation has subjected you to the things you live with that can never be told. I support the troops all the way. You gents are heroes. RA GTFO
Let me know. I can film their reaction for you. Peace.
