    • @Real_MisterSir
      @Real_MisterSir 4 года назад +24

      @@sladepruitt564 A claymore is essentially a one-way explosive device, that will blow up if you walk in front of it. Put into context, if someone in a real firefight brings out a claymore to set up, that means they are expecting to be overrun by enemies in very close proximity. Typically a device such as a claymore is used as a last resort, in situations where you consider your position fully compromised, and you need a form of plan B defense in a location that you yourself are unable to defend.
      In video games claymores are used very casually because the nature of most shooting games naturally put you versus an enemy team in a close proximity arena/map, where enemies are expected to come at you from all potential directions, so close encounters are a given in every match.
      Hope that explains it :)

      @@Real_MisterSir Claymores however are almost always detonated manually with a trigger (M57 Firing Mechanism) connected by cord to the claymore itself, it's not like they go off on their own.
      It's very effective in its blast cone out to 50m (though some fragments will go well beyond that).

I’ve read about two hours each day since and I’m about 3/4 way through. Due to shortage of personnel I had to perform the duties of a full FSS(13Fox20) instead of just being the radio guy for the FSS, also with no “radio guy” so performed both duties at once. If they dont make it available in Australia you can use a vpn. Just pick a server in the US and watch it that way.

    To understand this mode of thinking, check out “On killing” by Dave Grossman. Explains how some soldiers love killing and why.

    @3:30 ..."fighting ghost". Definitely. Out of 20 - 30 fire fights I only clearly saw Taliban once or twice. At most we had dust signatures from their muzzles or muzzle flash. The fog of war is real. There's no worse feeling than being pinned down and having no clue where the enemy is.

    We love you guys. Thank you for serving for us. I know it weighs heavily on your minds. I personally am deeply sorry that our nation has subjected you to the things you live with that can never be told. I support the troops all the way. You gents are heroes. Again thank you for protecting our American liberties.

      Reminds me of the war crimes trial where US soldiers shot a bunch of afghanis asleep on the ground. I guess one of the times prior a guy on the ground popped a grenade and killed or injured Americans

      RA thanks I never knew that. Could you please cite your sources so I could tell that to the families of my friends who lost life and limb for the country? I think they might shoot me if I show up without a peer reviewed source, especially since they birthed, raised, and nurtured future war criminals. I’m honestly a bit scared. Maybe I could give you their addresses and you could tell them yourself? If you feel so strongly about it that is. Personally, I think I’m a little to new to this school of thought to make a good martyr - if I die for the cause people might call bullshit, that I was only in the group for a couple days and I was only faking it. Let me know. I can film their reaction for you. Peace.
