    Just to add to "I, Tonya": the triple axel shown in the film is also almost entirely CGi, since there are so few people in the world that can complete it successfully, and the main producer commented that even if they had found someone, she would be busy training for the Olympics and not want to risk getting injured. You can also compare this to the real footage of Harding's triple axel to see that she had to get way more air for the jump in comparison to what we see in the film.

      I know this is an old comment but it probably helps that they’re experts in this field, can understand, explain and figure out things all in one video. Like when I watch other people react to things and they miss something, it truly annoys me to no end but these guys don’t really do this often because they are very knowledgeable so whatever I would find lacking or annoying in a reaction, they usually fix it and make it up on their own and actually add onto it instead. Their reactions also feel genuine and real than most reactors and are not over the top which can get so annoying.

    • @jlyn7468
      @jlyn7468 4 года назад +9

      When you are performing athletically you actually don't blink no matter how high you jump or how fast you run, because you need your eyes to be open to know what's happening around you especially if you're calculating what to do next. For example, if you are running in a fast-break in basketball, you aren't going to blink because your head is constantly whipping around checking where your teammates are, where your opponents are, where the basket is, and figuring out when are you going to shoot the ball. One mis-step and you can end up making a big mistake, which is why you wouldn't blink in sports unless the ball is flying to your face or something.

If you've ever seen those photographs of figure skaters taken when they're in the middle of some insane move, their faces are all scrunched up and contorted, and I think part of that is due to using every muscle in their faces to FORCE their eyes to stay open

    One classic movie effect that recently puzzled me: in Terminator 2 the scene where Robert Patrick as a metal liquid form walks out of the fire after the truck explosion and then shift to his human form. Naturally I figured the metal liquid was a layer added in post production, but that means that Robert Patrick had to walk through the fire in a slow pace during shooting with no fire protection. Or what..?!

    • @eribetra

    1. I can spot Gui Dasilva everywhere
    2. Actual Civil War is NOT R-rated, but those cops are 100% dead 10 seconds after Cap and Bucky state they are not to kill anyone.

      simonegreco that fight, yes. Driving a head (although in a helmet) halfway through a concrete wall sounds like a possible kill to me tbh. But it's more of a nod to the fact that a proper R rating would just plain suit this movie, as already shown by the Corridor crew.

      lacari0 for example the high-speed tunnel chase has even bigger impact now, knowing that most of it is practical and they actually used magic carpets for that. Some scenes are just incredibly well executed, and it shows in the long run after rewatching several times.

      he plays full dunce for Achievement Hunter, and only about 20-30% dunce for Slow-mo shots, you see it when he fails to do simple things like stand up straight, or he fumbles stuff, but then he slips out of character when he really gets talking about how his camera's work and a few of the more sciencey stuff they've done (Like AH Gavin would never be able to talk about how old CRT screens refresh or how their pixles are, he'd just ask Ryan a stupid question and make him explain it)

    You guys should look at the bank scene from Captain America: The Winter Soldier! (If you do, I recommend zooming in to where the metal and skin connect when the scientists push Bucky back into the chair. I know they sometimes had a model arm for Seb Stan to wear, but I think this scene might just be a green screen sleeve because of that tiny part.)

    • @KaySan666
      @KaySan666 4 года назад +1

      Or the part in Civil War, when you can tell that Seb is only wearing half a sleeve. You can tell because his shirt is ripped and reveals that his upper arm is not covered by the prosthetic sleeve
