So glad I found this channel. I used to browse the catalogues as a kid looking at all the digital watches. I remember this one, and a casio that functioned as a TV remote quite fondly.
That frequency used for Seiko Watch TV tuner is USA NTSC-M. It will not tune to on some VHF TV channels and FM frequency is different. You can use that in the Philippines.
That is a very nice watch iv been in to watches since I was a kid I fix them and if anyone in the family needs a repair they bring them to me I'm glad I found this channel because it has give me some good tips and I have been able to fix some of my other watches so thanks for the videos they are brilliant keep them coming thanks mate 👍
I've always loved watches for some reason. To me they've always been the epitomized form of technology. Sure you have a calculator, a TV remote... a TV... but can you make it work strapped to a wrist? This might be my new favorite watch. Gotta love Seiko. I still have my late father's Seiko he brought after he got out of the USMC 50+ years ago... it still works.
I believe due to its setup it can be hacked in a way using a digital TV receiver and make the whole thing being compatible with the watch as well as using a 5V battery which probably works with that
I paid $400 Dollars for my NOS one with all papers present, box , headphones in new condition. I thought that was huge money back in 2009. Worth far more today I think going by your comments on the video so I was fortunate to get that when I did.
They could make a mystery type of movie around this watch where the main character starts randomly picking up some strange or coded messages from the 80's with it. The plot could go anywhere from there.
I bought one from Sears back when they first cane out.... but me and my wife at the time got in a fight and I threw it on the hard concrete and broke it up pretty bad. Threw it away about 6 years later.... wish I wouldn’t of broken it!! Was cool at the time for sure.
At first I thought it has to be a fake ! Lookd if the video was uploaded on 1. of April but slowly started to realise that it's real ! Japans, that's the right attribution ! Awesome, really is !
Good lord! I bought one at a church fair 2 months ago. It's in new unused condition in box with all paperwork. I bought it for 50 cents because it looked pretty cool. It's been sitting on my work bench till today when I had some time to fool around with it. Looks like I scored for a change!
Hello vintage digital watch man I just got mine today I very excited but I will eventually hunt down the signal cable and transmitter in the near future I love my seiko TV watch
hi i got one of these just had a question, how can I tell if the TV screen is working as the reciver turns on and as i scroll through nothing changes on the screen is that normal sice evrything is digital now? or shouls i see some static lines
In my case, ost of the scrolling nothing happens and when it does I assume it is some interference. SO I don't think it is anything wrong wiht this behavior especially if you live in a country where everything has moved to digital. Try using the receiver on Radio mode and see if you pick up any radios, that would confirm something is working.
Do you have the stainless steel Seiko calculator watch around the same era? It was solid, heavy, and really durable. I'd love to see it again if you have it.
Hello I'm bidding on a seiko TV watch as I watch ur video on it I'm hoping I can win it on Ebay I always wanted this watch since I was a kid plus Roger Moore had this same watch in occopussy
A mint condition set like this one here must be over $1500 for sure. At this time I only found 1 eBay seller wiry just the watch in what looks like 5/10 condition.
Dear Watch Friend! Thank you for next Great video! I have question, I have bought simmilar Watch but 1st generation (with black color around). Unfortunley I have no Receiver, I have only Watch. I am thinking about connect another video signal source, but I dont know whitch pin is responsible for what (in Watch). In Watch we have 6 Pins. I think that two of them are +/- , next are signal R,G,B ? I dont know.. Question to You: Do you have Diagram or Manual or knowledge whitch Pin is for what ? I will be greatfull for Help ! :) Best Regards, Andrzej.
Hi! I just bought a secondhand Seiko TV Watch, and there are a couple of bugs that I'd like to ask your advice on because you've been able to teardown the watch. My main problem is that the stereo jack only outputs through one ear only; I tried opening the receiver but couldn't access the headphone jack so I can't tell if it's just a mechanical problem. My second problem is that the time function on the watch occasionally flickers (even with a new battery), and a sharp tap on the watch fixes the problem. This makes me think there's a short somewhere inside, but I can't seem to find it. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Timothy, I had the same issue because I was using head[hones with an integrated microphone, so I assume the jack is also important, before opening it up do some checks on the headphones you are using. Also the manua l keeps recommending to use the headphones on the mono selection for some reason. The second issue I believe you are correct a contact is either corroded or not making good conductivity for whatever reason. Sorry can't help more. Cheers, Tibi.
Vintage Digital Watches Thanks for the reply, Tibi! How did you fix the problem with your audio? I tried a pair of cheap earphones (with no microphone) and strangely enough the sound still came out from just one side... but now on the *opposite* ear. Quite confusing!
It always strikes my how beautiful Seiko made their LCD displays and case design, even with this strange watch. Thumbs up.
No color ?

What great technology for the time. Very impressive for the early 80’s.
It was miniaturization at its best
I HAVE ONE! no reciever tho, just the watch. amazing! never knew how rare it was! crazy! going to post it on ebay haha sweet!
Even without receiver you should get a good price. 200 ish
I have a fully complete in box one. I have something like the "video sender" in this video. But more powerful for about 1km range.

In 1988, I took a chemistry exam using a Casio scientific calculator watch.
Excellent video , very informative and well presented.
Wow! Amazing watch, love it!!!

U can't use it now though
I have a UT 66 transmitter and I hope to hook it up to a VCR player and see video on it !
It's incredible, I would love to have it to connect a good Laserdisc player, I could carry it in a backpack and watch my favorite movies on my wrist.
Rare collection. Nice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video, thankyou!
this is so cool. I just saw the R2D2 watch and ran across this.
Wow!.. thanks for this.👍

Loved your review.
Thank you!
Imagine trying to watch a football (soccer) game, or a hockey game on that TV set. Now, they are making TV sets a large as possible. Cheers!

''smartwatches'' long before smartwatches . the made talking watches as well back on those years .
And a stereo receiver no less. Very impressive.
I'm curious as to the type of video signal going to the watch. Maybe probe the contacts to see what's going on.

Haha! Nicely done! I think I read that someone paid about the same for a photo of Abraham Lincoln at a garage sale about 20 years ago.
Its rally nice watch reviews you are making. Please do watch with games...

*Beautiful!* 🤪
Looking for one to add to My Collection
How much it might possibly cost? thanks
The ad shows it playing color video!
It never was a color screen. It had 9 shades of gray...and I believe the screen is 1 1/4” wide(not diagonal)...perfect for your next Super Bowl party.
Remember the boomboxes with the TV's as well ?
You've got yourself a HELL of a collection there-- makes my collection look pathetic! lol!
:) You always start with a few pieces, and overtime it grows.
nice
wonder how the image was when you could actually watch news or whatever, very cool tech i had no idea even existed
It must have been decent, television in the 80s had already been through decades of improvement.

Hi, I had all of Seiko's calculators form the 802 The C153, the C439 and there was another but sold them eventually

3:38 UHF CHANNEL 30 in Japan.
Even at the time... Why, why would you want to try to find a TV station for like a 15 minutes and then watch it on like a 0,75 inch screen...
Clearly Seiko didn't do this for practical reasons.
more than 10 years ago ..I was able to watch Soccer matches in this watch ... ..Well not really see clearly .But you saw people moving somewhat
If you had one today, working and everything, would it pick up signals?
Depends if analog TV is still working in your country, in most countries it not used anymore
super...and brandnew..supercatch ;)
Yeah would have been nice to have the box as well :)
So an amplified antenna and you may be able to broadcast to the masses
