  • The Indian smartwatch market is so chaotic that it's getting confusing for users to decide what's real. These brands import watches from China and sell them here in India for 10 times more prices than what they should be. The data these smartwatches provide is very inaccurate so it just doesn't make any sense to buy these cheap smartwatches. So here's a breakdown of why you should stop buying these fraud smartwatches.

Well, lemme share my experience. I went to the local watch shop to buy a watch, and I was asking for a simple analogue titan watch(my budget was around 7000). The shop owner tried to convince me again and again to buy a smartwatch, saying "you're a gen z guy, analogue watches are for older people". As I'm aware of this "import from China" story, I asked some questions about the same, and the shopkeeper was really offended. 😂

I have an analog watch which is ~10 years old. The only things that are changed are leather straps, the crown and battery. I doubt a smart watch will last this long. Because electronics become outdated very soon from both hardware and software aspects. One of My grandfather had allwyn watch. I told him to give it to me if he ever thought of giving it to some one.😁

Wasn't expecting much when I clicked the link, but this video was quite insightful. That's for making this.
In a volatile, price-sensitive, "aspirational" market where the masses prefer to buy cheap, flashy products just to look cool, trying to imitate popular culture instead of buying quality goods out of their own interest & saving up to buy those things - quality goods can never go mainstream - as there will be several imitators in competition selling inferior goods for cheap.
It's in our own interest to know what the prices of certain products are currently (as offered by good companies), and to buy goods selectively, instead of letting our insecurities ruin our overall quality of experience & peace of mind, giving fame/money to companies/CEOs who clearly don't deserve it.

as a watch collector, I've tried smartwatches. used it for around 4-5 months. it's terribly unnecessary and got annoyed when i had to charge it every single day. an automatic watch needs a hand wind or a shake after two days and takes about 30 seconds max, whereas it'd take 2-3 hours for a smartwatch to fully juice up. it doesn't make sense. but have to admit how a lot of people wears a watch at least for the sake of smartwatches

I don’t even recommend these watches to anyone. Need a smartwatch get apple or samsung or pixel as simple as that. Can’t afford it, just wait for sales. I really love the LTE variant watches , it just gives a relief to leave the phone anywhere and use the same number through watch, that’s how actual calling support should work on watches

Great Video, Private labelling is not bad, to be honest. India as a market is huge, and so is the demand. There are tons of Chinese manufacturers who have already done a lot of R&D and making really great products. If someone in India finds a niche where they can target a customer base and provide a great product, then it's fine if it's privately labelled because ultimately customer needs a great product and service no matter if the R&D is done by them or 3rd party. The problem comes when the brand over-promises and spends more money on marketing than customer service.
Import great products, market them and provide the customer with excellent service, make money and start working on R&D and building products In India for the world.

Basic thing that people forget while buying is the the fact of how much accuracy the device has regarding tracking 😅 also to note that all the info stored while installing a Chinese app is obviously going to be sold. I bought a Noise Colorfit 3 Pro 3 smartwatch for Rs 4500, the readings were inaccurate and then the magnetic part to which we attach the charger started to rust and then I stopped charging, this shows the cheap build quality of such brands.

So I took the cheapest samsung galaxy watch which is much smoother experience, I did try firebolt and all but they seemed very clunky and obviously no playstore or even calculator which was also what I needed to count doses on the go.

    really.
Mi Bands started this fitness tracker trend in India and they were really so good.
But these other chinese brand started giving same or even low quality bands in just bigger size and called them smartwatch.
Xiaomi really needs to enter the game and bring in an actual smartwatch at 10-15k price segment.
that will actually start competition, else these so called smart watches that don't even show correct statistics will keep selling.

Bhai, simple solution: accumulate your money & go for Casio or atleast fast track. It's the actual rugged smart watches (if you think some fancy camera, display, wrong fitness data or operating music player from your watches are calling smart, then....)for smart people. But if you can spend around 16k, there are some viable options. Now over 15k for a watch for general users in India (me also) is quite tough. Better go for Sonata/SF series. It's not might be smart watch but definitely a smart choice 👍
