I’m a Florida native born and raised, my dad took me to my first Panthers game since I was a really small kid and I’ve been hooked ever since. I have been waiting for this for a long time, all of us here have. When that timer hit 15 seconds and kept counting down when they had the puck against the wall I started sobbing so hard in joy when that timer hit 0. Bawled my eyes out for a good few minutes and I’m not one for crying. I still haven’t stopped thinking about that final second and watching the arena lose it and their gear go flying in the air.

What gets forgotten in all the focus on the SCF last year and then again this year is the fact Florida won the President's Trophy in 2022. They are not an over night success. For the last 3 years, Zito has built this team into one of the best teams in the NHL. If they can figure out how to resign Reinhart, Montour, and the other guys who have expiring contracts or restricted FAs, they very well could be competing again for the cup next year. Enough cannot be said about the job Zito has done. Maurice is a Hall of Fame coach who deserves so much credit but Burnette also did a fantastic job with the team. Zito is the OZ behind the curtain. Being a fan since the first puck drop, dealing with all the tough years (a lot of them) to seeing this team over the course of 3-4 years, it is so rewarding. SO proud of the men who play on this team!
Another Panther fan from first puck drop. Remember drafting Barkov, Ekblad, the 96 finals ending in triple OT, the Beezer, the Rats. I’m still proud about the rats getting tossed after a win. I’ve watched the fan base expand exponentially and now I have to run years from my eyes!

hopped onto bandwagon bruins playoffs n enjoyed the series so much against panthers i decided to stay onboard.
Fun/impressive game, n the panthers got an entertaining crew. Congrats. Great game for Bob, those last 10 minutes of surviving were nuts. lol
That third period was some of the greatest form of team defense I have ever seen. Literally everybody on that Florida Panther team was committed to doing one thing…. Stopping the Oilers by any means necessary. Whether it was containing the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, to diving for every block, to even sprawling to bail out your goaltender. That’s what true teamwork looks like. Congrats Panthers!

Along with 2023 Vegas Golden Knights and 2019 St Louis Blues , all first Stanley cup wins for these teams.
I'm very thankful to have been able to watch the Lightning hoist two Stanley Cups, including 2004's Game 7 and in 2021. I also watched in sadness as the Avalanche hoisted it in front of us two years ago. Nothing is more special the watching the Cup being raised...If you haven't experienced it... make it a bucket list item. Even if it is not your team. Congrats Florida from your interstate rival.
