It wasn't just no cover drives. He barely played any shot on the off side. I watched this innings live and it was one of the most incredible things I've seen.
The only player about whom i could think about of touching feet.! the respect not because his invincible batting but his humble nature... I want to be like him as a human being...!
India could have scored 700 at SCG in 2018 too but they declared before that. Scoring 700 isn't a matter of pride but shows the lack of confidence in the bowling line-up. I don't remember Australia having ever made 700+ because they're always confident that 500-550 is enough for their bowling attack.

This discipline, grit and learning from the mistakes had made Sachin sir what he is known for now. Truly one of the greatest player to have played this game of cricket.
Brett Lee, Murali, McGrath, Vaas have dismissed Sachin way more times. The point is, despite all that he has 100 centuries. You can prepare all the stat you want, but when you reach a legendary status, stats don't matter. If you are interested in stats: Sachin scored 1 100 and 6 50s(2 x 90s) vs England since Anderson came. He has an avg of 38 in tests (9 dismissals) and 46 in ODIs (3 dismissals). Anderson is definitely a legend himself, but trying to put one great down to appreciate another for a matter as puny as stat comparison, it means you've understood the game wrong.

I remember convincing parents and friends to miss an internal assessment in a high school back in 2011-12 when Sachin was about to score 100th hundred against Windies in Mumbai Test against the West Indies attack comprising of Rampaul and co. It was a magical innings for me personally as it was one of the first tests I ever watched. Though he got out before the school could even begin at around 10 am that day, and I didn't need to miss anything, the memories of that innings are etched forever in my sporting spectator memory..
I used to skip school, only to find out my teachers were skipping it too! Tendulkar - Legend!
In 1986, my friend mentioned about a great future batsman from Mumbai, 13 year old Sachin Tendulkar ! And I just read one day that he was going to play in Hyderabad. I bunked college (the only time in my life) and went to see the little genius. It was a treat to watch ! A small boy playing fluent drives, with the ball kissing the green carpet at Gymkhana grounds, Secunderabad to the boundary ! He scored 40 odd runs, but it was a wonderful smooth innings...And I remember it like yesterday !! Fantastic player !!! The greatest batsman & most humble & disciplined player ever !!
used to be a virat fan , but after watching so many of such innings from youtube and various other platforms, should admit sachin is the greatest batsman of all time
Even Buckner couldn't get him out, let alone Aussie bowlers.

He will not change I think
Video se kuch nahi hoga bhai, it was the mental strength of Sachin.. just awesome!!
He can't change.. his ego is a problem. He just is different. And hence he will retire now. His days are over
Ganguly was under immense pressure and fought against the management to include Kumble in the squad and Kumble took 7 wickets in the same match and proved Ganguly right.
He took 8 wickets, not 7
Correction, Kumble got 12 wickets in the match. 8 in the first innings, 4 in the 2nd.
Now Ganguly leads BCCI management. The best out there.
But Ganguly was himself out of form always. Never score good runs
@@abhishekkr.7986 doesn't matter, he was a leader. Ms dhoni was terrible as a batsman all the time in challenging conditions yet he was the captain, one of the best there is. Ganguly despite his flaws amassed 18000+ runs...
Greatness is not just what you are capable of doing, it's also what you can stop yourself doing when the occasion demands it. Sachin's 241* at Sydney without a single cover drive- this is class innings from Master Blaster.
It wasn't just no cover drives. He barely played any shot on the off side. I watched this innings live and it was one of the most incredible things I've seen.
He played cut shots
As a huge sachin fan I’m jealous of u bro… i was 10 yrs at that time i dont know much then

That majestic declaration from Dada... Wow that's goosebumps. How many years since we have seen India scoring 700 plus runs.
The game where Karun Nair scored a 300, that was the last time.
Scoring 700 against Australia is only country India made I think in current generation
India could have scored 700 at SCG in 2018 too but they declared before that. Scoring 700 isn't a matter of pride but shows the lack of confidence in the bowling line-up. I don't remember Australia having ever made 700+ because they're always confident that 500-550 is enough for their bowling attack.
@@arnabghosh5814 that's right... But that's the strength of bowlers nowadays..but imagine the Australian batting unit in those days... And compare it with the current batting unit.
@@arnabghosh5814 it was all about ego, best bowling attack? Ghanta we scored 700+...it was absolutely shame for Aussies then, that a team scored 700+ against them... today what u r thinking was not same 15+ years ago... today test matches gets ended in 72 hours..no quality batsman nor any quality bowler & at that time Australia was dominating force they ud bulldoze & bully every team..it was just giving them back....so that 700 at that context & time was huge huge moral booster.
In that same innings VVS LAXMAN hit 178 runs one of the most underrated innings
Very very special
True
The biggest battle is to battle the devil within yourself. To not play a cover drive in a test match is a real character and get to 241* is the reason why he is the master
His balance at the crease...the head position..his footwork..his timing..his follow through...truly Sublime..🙏🙏
Unfortunately my generation couldn't watch Sir Don Bradman, Len Hutton, Jack Hobbs, Barry Richards, Sir Garry Sobors...
But after seeing Tendulkar, I have no regrets..!
Indeed🙃👏
You know I think this mental adjustment to not play a cover drive (one of his fav shots) is almost super human ,, and he did for almost 2 days ,,, it’s more impressive than other technical aspects ,, the only player who comes close is Martin Crowe when he decided to not play any out swinger from Akram ,, that is real cricket

Sachin ❤️
Yes. How many centuries Sachin scored when Anderson was playing against him.
Brett Lee, Murali, McGrath, Vaas have dismissed Sachin way more times. The point is, despite all that he has 100 centuries. You can prepare all the stat you want, but when you reach a legendary status, stats don't matter.
If you are interested in stats:
Sachin scored 1 100 and 6 50s(2 x 90s) vs England since Anderson came.
He has an avg of 38 in tests (9 dismissals) and 46 in ODIs (3 dismissals).
Anderson is definitely a legend himself, but trying to put one great down to appreciate another for a matter as puny as stat comparison, it means you've understood the game wrong.
