The following lines are taken from an article by Amrit Mathur who is a former manager of the Indian cricket team. That Sachin is fanatically meticulous about his preparation became evident after a training session in South Africa ahead of the crucial World Cup game against Pakistan in 2003. The team had just finished practice at Centurion. We were walking up the 80-odd steps from the ground leading up to the dressing room. Standard conversation on such occasions is about the match and the ground, and there is the usual speculation about the surface. Sachin noted the track looked good - the pitch hard, true, batsman friendly . But what caught my attention was what he said a little after... not about the pitch but the outfield. Apparently he had walked round the ground and noticed that the outfield had a thick grass cover, and here is the interesting bit - the blades of grass around third man, he noticed, pointed away from the boundary, which meant they would slow the ball down. If the ball is played there, he said, there is a chance of an extra run because the ball will reach the fielder slowly. I thought batting was about sorting out the bowler , the ball and the pitch. But the direction of blades of grass in the outfield! Phew. Sherlock of cricket

@Music Is Everything my friend, I don't think we should go to the level of comparing.... Every era has given us a set of players who took cricket to another level ,if we talk about our country, Sachin ,Sourav ,Dravid specially and others also too in that era gave that boost to cricket that it needed, and a child prodigy like Sachin Tendulkar will always be like a knight in shining armour ....we kids of 90s n 2000s grew up watching them..full respect 💯 Then we had Sehwag ,Yuvraj ,Gautam,Zaheer 🔥 Talking of Virat, n other boys ,its good that Indian cricket is at the hands of someone who knows when to shift gear n turn the game along ..the likes of Virat ,Rohit ..r the ones we need now... Again we saw great captains like Sourav Ganguly ,then MS Dhoni... This will always keep evolving.. As long as BCCI continues to recognize talents n not politics.. Our Indian cricket will always shine Respect to all 💯..
@Music Is Everything stats really dont matter...even in sachins case...the way he plays his shots...his backlift...his head...his stance...his straight drive...his leg glance...his cover drive...and most importantly his backfoot punch...is all picture perfect...no joke...! Viv Richard's or kohli or bradman might be better scorers...but none can match sachins genius...he technically the best batsman ever...even dravids backlift comes from 1st or 2nd slip...but sachins is straight as F....and oh ...! His trigger movements...he changes according to the game and situation...whatte genius...!! #completebatsman
@Music Is Everything so stats really dont matter...I give a F about 100 centuries..his shots speak...next to sachin is babar who is so beautiful to watch.. technically perfect..!

Look at that average : 57.05 , his average would be 58.39 after this innings, plus 30 hundreds and 8351 runs to go with it. All Richards, Sobers, Hammond, Hutton etc follow the Little man from India. The Don is the only one to compete with the Little man.
Herbert Sutcliffe, George Headley and Graeme Pollock all averaged 60. There's a few besides Bradman mate. Tendulkar finished with 53 average. Not the greatest average quite frankly. But it was his longevity that was awesome. I commend what he did for Indian Cricket, but he could have his poor streaks as everyone knew. So to say Sobers and Hammond 'follow' Tendulkar is simply not true.
@@lonestar6709 "To say Sobers and Hammond 'follow' Tendulkar is simply not true" is simply your opinion. Sutcliffe, Headley and Pollock as you wrote, played 54, 22 and 23 matches and then, averaged 60. Tendulkar after 100 tests averaged 59, that's the double of Sutcliffe and more than 4 times that of Headley and Pollock and still managed to average the same. Let alone the oppositions' quality and overall awareness in cricket. It's not the average that matters, it's the maintenance of the average over a long span that truly counts. Having a career ending average of 53 is not the greatest, but that isn't a revelation either. I am no Sachin Tendulkar fanboy and I dislike biased fanboys. There are things that I don't like about Tendulkar and express it openly. But, I can understand why Tendulkar as a batsman leaves everyone except the Don behind him. However, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion.
9:15 what a shot over mid wicket that too when most of the batsmen weren't able to see the ball due to bad light. Eagerly waiting for 3rd test at Leeds , Headingley starting from 25th of August with India 1-0 up and have momentum in their favor.
For the first 7 minutes I found myself wondering whether such a good test batsman would have been able to adapt for the T20 game but then right on cue, he starts showcasing his more aggressive shots. The bowler can't claim victory in his dismissal, the low bounce of the pitch did all the work. Flawless batting indeed.
For those of us who closely followed him, it's safe to say he used to play more cautiously in Tests simply because of the importance of his wicket. If you really want to get a better idea of his attacking range, you should watch some of his ODI innings.
He was the first Indian to win orange cap in ipl and that too at the age of 37. Even the likes of dhoni, kohli couldn’t match him at that point of time.
Majestic batting on a challenging pitch. Good defensive batting initially and respecting good balls. Later the Indian batsman settled down and scored freely... Remarkable performance. ..

His batting was just 10%. Remaining 90% he carried emotions. My heart was pumping even now watching this video. Those emotions were missing in today's cricket. No one can match with him. Though there are several good batsmen, Sachin is special forever. He played against most destructive bowlers throughout his carrier. Nowadays I guess there are no bowlers of that caliber. I am surprised to see that Bumrah is no.1 bowler. This is a kind of today's cricket....
Broo...Emotions are Missing only on ur side...😏😏😏
Just because you are from that Generation doesn't mean that Today people are emotionless and Take cricket lightly...
Every time now that virat Kohli comes to bat(My Favourite Batsman) even My heart is in the mouth on every ball..
I cried when he left captaincy, 2019 SF loss and 2021 WTC😔😔..
U cannot question this Generation's passion brooo...
Nd yess...I still Consider Sachin Tendulkar as the most Complete batsman ever"
He will forever remain that special cricketer.
You are absolutely right bro.. today's cricket in word is "Chapri cricket"
Best batsman ever to have played the game . Sachin Tendulakr is just one very different from all those who played till the date.
2:54 . Just can't beat Sachin....!!
There are players who play the cover drive and leg glance fluently these days but am I the only one who sees a big difference between sachins and theirs. His heavy bat, backfoot prowess and sheer timing makes a sound like no other. Kohli is more of a bottom hand driver but sachin had that punch that has no comparison!
Jedidiah Daniel Kohli is trained to bat. This guy was *born to bat*
Jedidiah Daniel *Uncanny how right from 1950s to 2010s, it was the 90s which had the least number of batsmen averaging 50+, I.e only 4. (min.20 tests)*
*Number of batsmen averaging 50+ in 1990s - 4 only. (Only sachin averaged 55+)*
*No. Of batsmen averaging 50+ in 1970s-6*
*No. Of batsmen averaging 50+ in 1980s- 5*
*No. of batsmen averaging 50+ in 2010s so far-16 and cud easily be 17. (4 of them averaging 60+, 2 of them averaging 55+)*
*Wow..lets compare*
Absolutely true well said mate..
Brow...! Sachin is perfection personified...! Not exaggerating
I feel guys like Sachin and Rohit have that lazy elegance within themselves so they look effortless while playing their shots. I can add vvs to that list too. Whereas guys like Kohli and Dravid work hard for their runs. Don’t get me wrong, they are sweet timers as well, but it’s just my opinion
Dont ever mention the question "Is Sachin best batsman?"
He is always best, yesterday, today and forever...
Even Kohli cant match his class
@Music Is Everything my friend, I don't think we should go to the level of comparing....
Every era has given us a set of players who took cricket to another level ,if we talk about our country, Sachin ,Sourav ,Dravid specially and others also too in that era gave that boost to cricket that it needed, and a child prodigy like Sachin Tendulkar will always be like a knight in shining armour ....we kids of 90s n 2000s grew up watching them..full respect 💯
Then we had Sehwag ,Yuvraj ,Gautam,Zaheer 🔥
Talking of Virat, n other boys ,its good that Indian cricket is at the hands of someone who knows when to shift gear n turn the game along ..the likes of Virat ,Rohit ..r the ones we need now...
Again we saw great captains like Sourav Ganguly ,then MS Dhoni...
This will always keep evolving..
As long as BCCI continues to recognize talents n not politics..
Our Indian cricket will always shine
Respect to all 💯..

No words. He is genius 😌😌.. man who made our childhood the golden period . Love u sachin.
Nobody noticed Rahul Dravid's century
He was a gem!!!
Goat bro.
@Hindu & Proud go and watch more matches Rahul dravid is nothing in front of Sachin
Everybody would have noticed Dravids century ..
... can't we stop comparing these 2 maestros?
You can't compare a Sword and A Shield .. both have different purpose.
But together they make a warrior (Indian Team) ferocious..
Dravid was MoM for 148 runs
Dumb comment considering Dravid won the MOTM award for this match.

Anyone else remembers when Sachin hooked Caddick for a 6 during WC match in S.Africa? Ball went out of the stadium. I can never forget that.
The best six and the longest of his carrier
Yeah I remember that shot 😂
You believe anyone would remember that one brilliant shots from 2000+ brilliant shots he played
The time when stadium was full of spectators in test matches ❤️ ❤️ BLOODY T20
Test is , was and always will be much more entertaining for true cricket fans more than even T20
Oh My God. What a talent? Sachin has blown my mind. Just look at 9:07 - Goosebumps shot
As a Pakistani, that was an INSANE shot.

That too to Andy Caddick!

@Regrettable Major 😆😆😂😁😇
Watching Sachin Tendulkar bat is the most beautiful sight in the world... By far the greatest cricketer the world has ever seen!!! He is the Mount Everest of batting😁
Love how Sachin implied that a batting lesson was taken off his innings.
9:09 SHOT of the CENTURY. Caddick was the spearhead of English pace attack, Sachin swatted him away like a part-time spinner.
What a pulling and hooking by tendulkar...great to watch..
I used to think VK better as born in this era when SRT's career was at it's endings then I see some SRT's innings and realised Why is he called God of cricket ! 🙌🙌

Thank you sachin for great memories.
Thnx ECB.
Bcci learn frm ecb & stop being money greedy
Even ecb trying to make money. Thats why they are uploading indian players videos.
Qmanzo watch other videos ,they are uploading good share of cricket from series that England faced...this is good quality stuff
@@adnansyed8083 Are you stupid? When eng vs pak was happening, they uploaded the previous series for both team. Now that Ind vs eng is happening, they upload the two team playing together, like this video. Coincidence that they upload old Ind vs Eng videos during the current series? Of course fucking not.
BCCI don't have the digital rights. Ind vs Eng series digital rights are with SONY and you can watch highlights on SONYLIV.
ECB also making money through this. Lol!
Here anyone wants to see Sachin in field again ,👍👍 🇮🇳

Biswajit Nayak asshole sachin is not the best( Indian speaking) . Ever wondered why there was no slow ball from a fast bowler thise days. At that time a bowler bowled what his specialty was. Sachin is just a good lucky batsman

9:09 one of the best shots ever played by anybody just pure nonchalance 🔥🔥

True, looking at t20 ipl matches he played, he is genuine and born for cricket ...
He was the first Indian to win orange cap in ipl and that too at the age of 37. Even the likes of dhoni, kohli couldn’t match him at that point of time.
Look at the dravid’s score...thats why he is called by ‘the wall’ and the silent hero of india.
Legend always Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar God of cricket master the blaster 🙏🇮🇳

Majestic batting on a challenging pitch. Good defensive batting initially and respecting good balls. Later the Indian batsman settled down and scored freely... Remarkable performance. ..
Great innings by Sachin but you can't ignore the contributions of Dravid and Ganguly.. Great innings from them as well.
