What do you guys think of this video? Do you guys wanna see longer videos or shorter videos? More gameplay/specs like the last video, or more process/narrative like this one? This was my second attempt at video editing, and I applied a lot of the feedback from my last video. I feel like I've improved, but I still have a lot to learn. Id love to hear any feedback and suggestions for my videos to make them better.
@@mattheww.4726 You don't need to pirate games. Games can be backed up from actual discs using homebrew on a Wii into ISOs. Puts them right on a flash drive, put them in the right folder, and they are good to go

Back in 2014 I was also inspired by Tchay's "Envision" GameCube portable and I sometimes find myself returning to that video just to imagine one day having the time and resources to make one myself. Your videos Shank Mods are even more of an inspiration to me. Watching this vid gives me the courage to get started on building a portable of my own. These vids are incredibly informative so plz keep making more great content for all of us Portable enthusiasts because they help trumendously!

This is really well made. I'd try to make one myself, but I'd likely mess up the wiring somehow and end up frying the circuitry. I also don't have a 3D printer, but that's a separate issue.
So what? What happens if you break a board? You learn from your mistakes, you get a new board and try again. Ive screwed up countless motherboards along the way of making a portable

This is incredible. GameCube (or Wii) portables have got so much sleeker looking, less bulky, and easier to actually play in recent years. Amazing work, man!

Amazing build, I wonder if we ever going to get to a stage where custom mb will be used and chips transplanted in order to get it thinner, so far with all my attempts to build something portable I always end up in a lot of trouble on getting screens to work without having an enormous board making it bigger
if that was the wii original design it would have been the switch of its time.... imagine having this tiny machine and playing all of those games on your pocket

@3:50 Not at all, they are pretty convenient, because digital distribution has its downsides and the loading times aren't that slow either. It is easier to implement flash storage in a system that is based on a disc drive if you want to create a portable device.
After watching your first video i was intrigue about what possibility were out there, i then saw this video and wow its great, i started looking for the link to where i could purchase but there wasn't any, boomer! Continue doing what you do, your imagination says alot.
Well i use my wii/gc quite a bit, but on the go i take a wired gc (switch) plug into my phone and run dolphin, its emulated but runs everything just fine.

personally I see no point. USB loading is faster, more convenient, extremely compact, and uses way, way less power. There is no advantage to using a disc drive
I presume that the type of person who's able to create/obtain one of these devices is also the type of person who isn't tethered to needing a disc drive in order to play their games. I can understand wanting to have one, but to an enthusiast the drive can easily be factored out of the experience.

Making this portable requires destroying several controllers, some of which are rare. We likely wont release the files without tweaking them to use more common parts like switch joysticks. If you want a cast though, Gman's Gwii is similar and is open source

Is it possible to make something like a switch, but with a Wii? Like making a portable like this one, and putting an extra HDMI port on it, to connect it to a TV.

Making this portable requires destroying several controllers, some of which are rare. We likely wont release the files without tweaking them to use more common parts like switch joysticks. If you want a cast though, Gman's Gwii is similar and is open source
