After getting our camping van out of the shop two days earlier, we loaded it up for a trip down into the desert back country. The drive was going great until I realized I was leaking gear oil profusely and couldn't get the transaxle fill plug removed to check the level. We found a place to camp where I was finally able to get the plug off to find that the transaxle was full of oil and had likely been overfilled. We did some Firebox cooking, pizzas with our fry pan mess kit and rice Ramen from @lotusfoods with the Firebox Billy and of course a nice cup of coffee. We thought we would have smooth sailing so we went back into a remote Sandstone canyon and after some technical river crossings I stalled the van in deep sand and was unable to get it restarted. Luckily, some Good Samaritans from Blanding, Utah helped us out with a capable Toyota Tacoma, a winch, tow strap and a lot of muscle. They towed us to a spot along the highway where we were able to contact Triple A for a ride home.
I miss those days when my kids were that young, time flies. Great adventure, doesn't get any better!

Gotta ask - what kind of dough did you use for pizzas (I was told by my girls this is a mandatory question)

Love watching you guys. I live in one of the most urbanised parts of Europe and don't think I've ever been more than 5 miles away from a city in my life. Watching you explore the wilderness is a vicarious thrill, but also very peaceful and relaxing.

Just a few years back we had a 1973 Volkswagen bus which the kids and I build out into a camper. It was so much fun off road, and we enjoyed getting out as a family to those places where most folks couldn’t go. We’ve got lots of pictures and memories, but I sure do enjoy watching you and your beautiful family continue to make yours… Keep the videos coming, always great stuff!

Awsome car, outstanding landscape! These interesting "rock formations" are sedimentary rocks with fossilized mullosk burrows from an ancient ocean floor!
They stand out as they are made out of finer sediment grains than the surrounding material making them more erosion resistent.

Great video as normal steve, just a quick tip you might know this already. With the msr water bags can be put in the freezer between uses to kill any bugs if you miss any while cleaning. Ive been storing mine in the freezer for years
