If you can, get outdoors. It will help your depression. Even if you can’t go somewhere remote like this, you can still benefit. Go for a walk or just sit outside somewhere. If it’s cold outside bundle up and go for a short walk as often as you can stand it. Don’t stay inside. It will never help.

I very rarely comment on videos but I just had to. I’m a 21 year old college student who is a typical millennial. Heavy use of social media, consumer of material goods, going out to the clubs, flashiness of cars and designer brands etc. and never have I watched and felt more happiness and peace than when I watched this video. It’s such a refreshing video and I thank you for that.
I would have never have thought to go camping (I actually went once and hated it lol) but this video opened my eyes to the beauty of mother nature and I’m definitely going to be camping again soon.

my most memorable and valuable memories I have as a kid was camping with my fam and hunting/fishing with dad. He'd wake me up sooo early to go to the diner and get breakfast, then we'd go to the reservoir and get our first line in the water just at/b4 sunrise. I never, not one time did I ever complain about getting up that early to spend that time w/ Dad! This vid reminded me of those times.

I lost almost 5 years of my life fighting cancer and I am almost in remission and am now somewhat ready to get back on the trails with my daughter and sons. I have been living vicariously through your videos and I love your style. Can you recommend any areas that are not too crowded, but are accessible by 4x4 with fishing? His answer was fish, then I said what if we don't catch any fish? He replied if I don't catch any fish there is something wrong...he was right we caught large mouth bass, cat fish and trout...I never questioned him again about fishing😀

Nature does not hurry anything, yet all is accomplished.

I like that! Sounds like Harmony!

    • @Grumpy_old_Boot
      @Grumpy_old_Boot 6 лет назад +1

Actually, while that comment seems very zen, I think it was also meant to be in response to a question about why nature can be so cruel.
A lot of Tao philosophy is multifaceted, since it has roots in the Yin-yang naturalist way of thinking.
So, essentially, nature moves at it's own speed, right ?
And if you cannot adapt to that, you may suffer, right ?
So you could change that saying into something like :
_"Nature did not hurry anything, yet your death was still _*_accomplished_*_ in good time."_
Which sounds a lot _less harmonic for you_ than the previous sentence - Yet for nature it's all the same.
What is good for nature, may be bad for you, and what may be good for you may very well be *completely* ignored by nature.
But if you can make something that is good for both nature *and* you, nature may end up doing most of the work for you.
Which is, of course, good for you. :)
So this innocent little sentence is crafted that way to make you think.
And hopefully make you act in accordance, and in harmony, with nature.
In other words, it is "the way", it is Tao.

A lot of old school philosophy is made in a way that it can be understood in multiple ways.
