These videos make me happy. What could be better? Family, cooking/feeding loved ones, kids happily engaged in something besides a smart phone. Awesome! I will be using my Nano for the first time this memorial day weekend. Just going to camp out in my front yard, but darn it, im cooking something! Great stuff.
Beautiful family, beautiful trip, awesome job man. My dad started taking me camping when I was their age and I am so beyond thankful he did. I am 25 years old now and I just started taking my girlfriend on her first camping trips and she’s loving it.
Another great outing with the best family on youtube. s&s... stove and syncro really like the carry bags and the baking is a real bonus and options seemingly endless And our favorite sentry: 4:20. And that scenery never gets old...
I just odered a Nano and 5inch box with all the trimmings. I cannot wait. You have a beautiful family and are true innovator. Keep up the great work and I'll be pacing around my mail box. Greetings from Australia. :)
I want you to know that i had watched all your video and i enjoyed it, it reminds me when i was little my father took me camping and fishing all the time. He taught me how to fish and take good care of my fishing gear, i miss him. I love the outdoors and love to cook when we go camping, watching your videos and your family brings me great joy, thanks and God bless.
What an enjoying family camping trip, every one is so happy and congenial. A total pleasure seeing the family interaction, the beautiful camping location, watching you cook with the firebox. I personally don't have the patience for the Firebox, but very impressive how you so calmly prepared meals! Nicely done, thank you for sharing.
@@fireboxstove thank you I will take a look! What a neat concept compared to stacking rocks and building a fire cooking area, which I did all my life!!
wow that cake came out perfect! always inspired (and hungary) to cook with the firebox after watching your videos.. even tho my wife says our kitchen stove and bbq grill work perfectly fine...i rather the firebox in the backyard lol. thanks for sharing D!
I am a little late to this one but, as usual, you shared a fun adventure. I am taking my firebox down to the river as soon as it stops snowing. Will use the new 'warming' feature you relayed to us in another episode. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it. I am waiting for it to warm up here in Utah as well so I can get back out there. I hope you get out to use your Firebox many times this season.
LOL! Not at all! But, shoot, I'd do all the catching of fish, that's for sure. lol. JK. You just seem like a cool guy that is down to earth who enjoys camping. I've watch a LOT of your videos and am seriously considering purchasing a firebox stove. They seem great and versatile, but you know this-you aren't just a salesmen, you use the stuff you promote because it works! I've usually used the 'cover fish in tinfoil and toss it in the campfire coals' method for cooking trout, but I am definitely going to try your method with spuds next time I go out. Thanks for making great content!
Trick to getting unstuck in a 2x4 and 4x4. The wheel with the least resistance is the one that tends to spin. Kind of backwards if you ask me. But if you ever get stuck, what you do is lightly apply and release your park brake while trying to move as your wheel with the least resistance will alternate to the other wheel that is not spinning. Repeat park brake manipulation/on&off to get best results. And if you still cant get out, then U.R. S.O.L! lol
Thank you for watching, I am glad you enjoyed it. I do drink it in front of them but I usually get up earlier than everyone and go enjoy my coffee in the nice quiet sunrise. Cheers!
OMG Steve! Fantastic! Thank you! I'm with you on the natural lump charcoal. It is pricey, but it's the best charcoal out there. Have you heard of Grubsticks? Absolute best companion for my firebox!
Allen Albertson I never liked coffee until one glorious morning, standing on the Canadian Shield watching the sunrise over the lake in the backwoods, sippin on my coffee with a splash of whiskey, was a life changing moment. Pretty well drink it every day since.
Your dog is always facing and taking watch looking our in your surrounded area..... that's a AWESOME watch dog.... You have excellent camping cookware. Where did you get 1) that baking cook oven? 2) and that clamp that you use from taking your hot items off the fire? 3) also the item that that wholes the oven?
+FireboxStove I can't really tell from the video, did you butter and floor dust the cake tin before adding the cake batter? if you did all you'll need to do is add some pineapple rings to the bottom of the tin before adding the batter.
sir that is a beautiful synchro! would love to find a tin top like that, is it also weekender inside? also love the camp oven, really great idea! thanks for the video, happy trails :)
Great video - just one question. I have a full set of Zebra Billy cans (and a Firebox Gen 2 deluxe set) but was wondering if you sell the handle clips as a spare part? My cans are old but I've not used them much and it would be a shame to bin them just because I can't get the clips! Mine don't even have the plastic clips but bizarrely have the holes ready for them.
It is called a pot lifter and you can find them on my website here: www.fireboxstove.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=pot%20lifter. Thanks for watching!
Hey Steve what is your preferred method of baking with the Billy pot? Would it be with the trangia alcohol burner or with coals on bottom and top or maybe even a combination of both? I have the freestyle which Is amazing and will replace my 5inch and I have the nano which I will use in conjunction with everything. The freestyle 4 sided is a little challenging to use with Billy pot baking as the pot wants to roll off but in the bushcraft mod and hexagon it sets up really nice but not sure how good it would work with actual wood in that configuration. Would love to see a video of different baking configurations with the freestyle. I suppose I could always bake with my pizza stone and pan too 😁
Nice vid Steve. I hope to do a month long kayak trip at lake powell in the future. I'll be bringing both my firebox stoves. Would you recommend against sleeping on a mat under a tarp on open ground in the desert? Would scorpions or anything else be an issue? Cheers.
Hey Steve, love the vids! if you had to choose one zebra pot which size would it be? What is the easiest for the Firebox to heat up/most versatile? Keep up the innovating!
Hey I was watching one of your videos where you said your Zamberlan boots had given you a big blister. Do you still use those boots? Was it just a break-in issue? Trying to decide what new boots to get this year. Thanks in advance :)
I don't think it was a break in issue. Just too many miles for big tight boots. 3 to 5 miles a day would probably be okay. More than that and I would go with something lighter and less restrictive.
Luke’s excitement for the cake makes all the effort worth while. Put a smile on my face hearing him. Never would have thought to use a billy pot to bake.
Steve, great video man. Love to see you and family together--very inspiring. Question, what size were to the two Zebra pots you used for this video? I am assuming it was the 16cm and 12cm? Thanks again buddy. -Shane
That was very cool! Haven’t seen that done before. If you leave the blackening on the stainless from carbon or soot buildup you will use much less fuel to achieve for same amount of retained heat. Avoid aluminum if you can although it’s tempting for permanent anodizing. Alzheimers long term from aluminum use. Do you have bear issues where you camp?

the result is so good but also seems more fun to cook this way.
It is a lot of fun to get out and camp and cook like this. I love it. The food tastes so good over an open flame. Thanks!!

Yes! I have a Grub Stick! Great product!
Just curious, what kind of vehicle and roof tent is that.
And this is a way of life.
I admire your family.
What you do is very ok.
What solid fuel are you starting to start?
I use Esbit fuel tablets. Thanks!
I wish that I liked coffee :( . I always see people enjoying it on camping trips.
Coffee is the best with camping in my opinion Allen! But if you don't like it that makes sense.
Allen Albertson I never liked coffee until one glorious morning, standing on the Canadian Shield watching the sunrise over the lake in the backwoods, sippin on my coffee with a splash of whiskey, was a life changing moment. Pretty well drink it every day since.

Hey Steve, love the vids! if you had to choose one zebra pot which size would it be? What is the easiest for the Firebox to heat up/most versatile? Keep up the innovating!
16cm for the 5" Firebox and 12cm for the Nano. Thanks for asking!

not sure if it was mentioned before... but what are those rocks in the pot used for? Are they heated before putting in the pot?
They are thermal mass for absorbing heat from the relatively thin stainless steel pot material 👍
Any type of stone? River rocks?
They just need to be hard dense rocks 👍
ممتاز جدا👍
واتمنى لكم السعاده 🌹😊✋
Thank you so much, I wish you happiness as well.
Great backdrop to lovely family trip👍🏻 but why is called Hondo arch???
Something about the shape of the arch looking like the loop end of a ropers lasso. :)
What was that coffee press you had there? Please share. I need that.

when are you coming out with a firebox cookbook with recommended types of fire and fuel with each dish? only $29.99!!!

How long do these fireboxes usually last?
Lifespan is hard to predict, depending on maintenance and frequency of use. Our stoves are made with the thickest material of any of our competitors. This being said it should last several years! Thanks for watching.

Lol you can also use them in the back yard without camping, they are great to use there as well. Hopefully you all can get out camping soon. Thanks for watching!!

Lol, Thanks!
I wish the firebox came with that VW as an optional accessory
Lol, the old girl has come a long way! I bought it with 4 flat tires not running.
I like your products and videos but as a public figure, which I presume you envision yourself as, you might want to consider eliminating footage of driving on the side of a mountain with a child on your lap. This is total disregard for child safety and may promote some of your 14,000 subscribers to think twice about buckling their children up. I have seen poor child safety displays in your other videos as well. What you do in your own family is not my business, but when you publicly show disregard for child safety it becomes a problem.
