When it came out everyone said, if it just had a delay and a spring reverb, it would be great. Now they give is that PLUS tremolo, phaser, chorus, and 4 different reverbs, and people complain.! I am grateful for this!
Lol yea. This is very usable and you can always run more pedals in front if you want. Imo it's only a matter of time before they are able to do some kind of dynamic capture of pedals
Excellent playing and musicianship as always! Appreciate the cool chord progressions and also the clarity of your rig to hear the details of your examples! Awesome demo!
I got the anniversary pedal and that is exactly how I intend to use it. Each bank of three is the same base sound with variations. So far it works great. It sounds amazing BTW.
I've tried everything now and I'm really impressed! All modulation effects sound excellent and I was mostly even able to leave the basic settings. The delays are simple, but sound good and finally there is a usable spring reverb! I had problems with the reverbs before the update. I think the plate reverb sounds great, I didn't liked all the others. I still have one wish: please give us a better room reverb, then I would be completely happy!
This pedal and software drive me crazy.....! How can you even add extra effects on your existing presets, that are already inside the Tonex pedal? I would like to find out how you can add the effects and save them to your Tonex (the big one).
I got a ToneX One just to convince myself if I like the sound. I play with a power amp int orela cabs. Now I want the big one to have Clean/Crunch/Lead a la Eric Johnson with a single stomp on each button.
They should release a bigger one with more switches. I have an AX8 and GC and I use both live and need more switches. I had an FM3 but didnt have any other controllers, more cables=more problems. I carry the AX8 as a backup for the QC and don’t use any outboard pedals other than two expression pedals.
i just got the pedal in the mail last week. Been playing with it...its my first ever pedal, but i have been watching your vids for the last few months so i can play elec at church instead of Acoustic. I havent found a good vid yet to help a noob walk through understanding how to use the software and the guitar part together. I dont understand the words and anachronyms, like tanks, drip, etc. I kinda understand them in reference, but i'm just learning. From your video, the captures on the pedal do not have any of those features turned on (reverb, delay etc) If i want them i have to go in the app (or figure out how to do it on the pedal) I do wish you did a video showcasing all the captures and the number it was assigned.
Great video as always, Brian! Thanks! 😉👌🏻 Question: I have two Tonex Ones for stereo effect. How can I use the recently added (Pre) Delay effects to emphasize the stereo sound between my 2 Tonex Ones? Do you have any tips?
Not sure why you say that reverb after modulation collapse stereo modulation or delays to mono? Yes the reverb is "mono in" but the direct sound of delay and modulation is still stereo
@@worshiptutorials *in the reverb* only. It's the same in the Axe-Fx, the reverb input sums left and right channel, BUT the stereo image of the modulations/delay is preserved. Else, you won't hear the delay repeats alternating to left and right channels in ping pong mode. I have the delay at the end in my ToneX presets, and I still hear stereo delay and stereo modulations.
For someone who doesn’t like complicated pedals and a lot of tweaking, is this an easy pedal to learn and use live or is there another you would recommend?
I have the Tonex one and if you have it in browse mode you can get three presets you can switch between with the foot switch. But I probably will get the bigger Tonex eventually. Gotta have that tap tempo.
This isn’t really designed to be an all in one. You’re just going to get access to some more effects which you can save into presets. Our captures will not have these engaged, but you’ll be able to turn on whatever you want in the software when it releases.
I have the anniversary pedal and can’t wait for the update! I would like to use just the pedal to my Line 6 PowerCab but I can’t seem to get a strong enough signal to even slightly push indicator to flash red. Do you have any suggestions?
The problem with these new effects is that because there are more of them you now need some sort of a effects loop. If you want to use your own other effects with them. Before tonics was basically mostly just an amp and it could just sit in the middle of your chain now it's trying to be more than that and it doesn't have an effects loop.
The modulation and delays are both stereo. The reverb is mono in and stereo out. The pedal itself is mono in and stereo out, but you can use the delay and mod as true stereo effects.
Was it with the pedal connected to the software but in Edit mode? Or was it being edited from the pedal itself without being connected to the Tonex software? Maybe I missed it, but I couldn’t find any way to access the new FX from the pedal while disconnected to the software.
Yeah I'd like to see that. Thanks! You can edit the compressor and room reverb settings, because those effects shipped with the pedal and they built it in. But I wasn't able to find a way to edit the new effects - modulation, delay, etc.

@@MarkStearle-w1m apparently you can't tweak in real time, you have to load the preset then go to home tab make you tweaks the save them into the pedal, at least that's what I figured out. There has got to be a way to tweak in real time so can hear what it sounds like before you save to the pedal
You can use it however you’d like. It’s not really meant to replace an entire board’s worth of effects. Think of it as an amp replacement with a few built in effects.
@@worshiptutorials Yeah, you explained a bit later in the video. It sounds very nice your setup man. But I like simplicity as much as possible so I was curious whether this tonex could behave like a simple multieffect pedalboard or a classic set of pedals. Nowadays I prefer multieffects like cortex and CIA. But again, your TONEX sounds very lovely.
It has a lot of flexibility in how you can set it up. I would think you could have various presets with different effects. It also has midi. So if you needed to ad another switch or two, you can. I love mine

Best video yet on the new ToneX update.
I just bought your HC30 profiles for Tonex. They the best profiles I've tried. Well done! Highly recommended. Thanks very much.

Im loving this update. Im using the chorus effect with a JazzChorus capture it sounds awesome
That was a nice chorus sound! The modulations effects are actually in stereo!
SO stinkin' cool! Thanks for taking us along for the fun!
Although he said it is not possible to access delay, mod... fx on Tonex Pedal, it is possible to control them in the pedal menu.
Great video! The effects can be tweaked to get Ambient sounds.. but don't sell your Timeline..😊

GREAT Video!
I'm still not clear about if any of the new effects can be edited from the Tonex Pedal, or only by the software?
I saw a video from Jason Sadites that shows you can edit the effects on the large pedal. He added chorus, delay etc.. to an existing patch.
they can

Hello from MEXICO, whats the board? i am gonna buy the same rig, i love it!!
Wonder if they will add drives, or maybe that's just part of your captures?
Just got one of these Anniversaries.... How many did they manufacture?

The Tremolo sounds interessting, curios if there will be taptempo or midi for controlling the tempo.
Sorry newbie question here, why do you have the rv6 at the end of the signal chain when you already have reverb in the tonex?

My suggestion would be to add a little modulation on one side e.g. a little Phaser or Flanger.
Thank you for the great presentation. One question: what do you call the thing at the very end of the signal chain with the XLR-out? Thank you!
Thanks! That’s a DISO by Pinstripe pedals.
@@worshiptutorials Thanks a lot!

The first 3 spring reverbs sounded bad...the 4th is ok.
I agree. IK should consider adding a Hall algorithm.
The 4th one is the only new one, the other 3 are rubbish and the 4th is a response to this
That plate tho...so good. It's basically a high-passed EMT 140 but with quite a bit more high end.
