This is fantastic! I would only recommend for you to put the cords up as they go by so we can follow along for those of us that don't have the songs memorized yet. You do so at one point in the video at 8:20 minutes in and it's very helpful to follow the shapes that way. Thanks much for this though!
Hello Achim Kohl & family & friends & RUclipsrs Merry Christmas & Happy New Year's & Birthdays to You All be safe & Prosperous & Healthy Always! Thanks for Your videos!
Well done Achim - you have presented a systematic and logical approach to working across these changes which, judging by the other comments posted here, has been of great help to many other aspiring jazz improvisers - but what I love most of all the fantastic tone you get from your beautiful Gibson guitar - if ever you visit London you are welcome to visit me - we would have a ripping time !

You're right, I don't think about fingerings, I only think about the chord notes during improvising. But you need to learn where are the notes on the fretboard, that's the key . . .
Achim is correct - these are universal principles which will work for all instruments, however, the technical demands will be variable - good luck my friend !

Hey Sir Achim..please tell me what year & model is that Gibson you're using and what is the Market Price now if you may know? Thanks i'd like to hear you use a real nice Semi hollow Framus, too!!
Hi Sonny, it's a Gibson ES-137 Custom, build 2012, this model is not in production anymore, maybe you get a used one on ebay. The red guitar I'm using it's a Duesenberg Double Cat, it's from a german guitar company.
This is really helping me. I'm preparing to do an audition with my fretless electric bass guitar. On the guide tone step, is there any particular reason why you are choosing some chords to be inverted and does it matter? I've always been arpeggiating in root position. Thanks!
If you are always arpeggiating arpeggios from the root, it's boring, to keep the solo interesting you have to change the position. But If you are comping with your bass, the root will be your first choice.
What a great lesson, what a great way to teach this.
The best jazz improvisation lesson in youtube!!!
Yep, definitely the best way to learn soloing (improvising) over complicated chord changes, still being able to follow the song! DANKE!
Subscribed instantly. I’ve learned a ton from this one video!
Great lessons..I have improved my playing a million percent with your help. God bless you. Thank you Achim.
Killer lesson. My solos have Greatly improved with your Lessons. Thank you.

Thank you Achim for this video. Chord Tone improvisation has long been an issue for me, but you have help me to contextualize the topic.
Great. I use it to help in my soloing approach on the tenor sax
Really good lesson , not dragged down with note names, and position calling
Just Nice sounding lines

you want to see difficult to follow? try Pat Martino
If you analyze exactly what Pat is saying with theory , he is correct , that is what is so scary
What is the recommended way to learn where the first, third, fifth, seventh, etc are for each chord on the fret board?
Great sound, where is the sheet music?

Achim, the link doesn't work anymore, error 404.
nice lesson, I notice at 3:44 you go back tot he cmin7 arpeggio but play the 3rd first instead of the root right?
oh I see from then on you mix the arpeggios up a bit in order and choose higher octaves
that's correct, it sounds more interesting
