You have a gift for teaching. Clear and precice, what's not to love about this? Thanks for displaying the tab on screen.
Awh, thanks so much for this lovely compliment 😘
Up fast, down slowly. I always put it in my head.
Thanks! I have not visited your channel for a while. I forgot what I was missing out on. This lesson brought new meaning to arpeggios for me. Well done!
Welcome back, my friend 🤗. Glad my tutorials are helpful 😊.
Thanks so much for everything you do, dear Sandra. You are wonderful.
No, YOU are wonderful 😊❤️. Thanks, Luis, for being there for me 🤗.

Dear Sandra! Your lessons are incredible! You are my favorite teacher! Please teach us “Omaha Celebration” by Pat Metheny please!! My best regards for you 🙏
Fantastic Sandra - turning stale arpeggios into music 👏
That's always the goal. Try to make a little solo over a part of a song to apply these idea right away. We learn best in contexts of songs.
Спасибо! 🌹🤝🎸
Amazing lesson! Very helpful thanks
Great stuff, Sandra. This could almost be an intro for a complete course in this area. Lick 4 alone is a nice insight for West Coast Blues😁. Good to see Howard😉. Have a great weekend, Sandra!!
Great idea! 💡 😁
I'm going to order. A much needed lesson. My arpeggios sound like 1-3-5-1!
Of, this will change from now on 😊. Ombre you get used to it and have these fingerings under your fingers you'll play arpeggiis like this most of the time. But it's also absoku3ok to just play 1 3 5 7 once in a while. Add in a nice triplet and your good to go 😊.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman thanks for encouraging!
Incredible video! Playing arpeggios that way really sounds so much better. I'll try to incorporate this and use your exercises as my new warm up routine. You're brilliant!!!
Good idea to earn up with the exercises!
¡Muy bueno, Sandra! Saludos desde Madrid.
Thanks, my friend! Austria 🇦🇹 ♥ 🇪🇸
Wow
That's exactly what I should do
Perfect for my bebop studies
No wonder I felt out of rhythm
Ok Thanks it's right on
Glad it's helpful. Try to compose short solos (like over the A section of a song for example), where you apply these enclosed arpeggios.
Oh you're singing my song, my friend. I can practice an arpeggio until I'm blue in the face. But get me into a jam and I'm a blithering idiot with them.
Love this lesson, as always. ❤
J. 🤗
Glad to be of help, Abe! Try to compose (parts of) solos where you apply these techniques. This way it'll be in your fingers and real improvisation will eventually come to you.

Thanks so much !!
I saved your video to my “Practice and study” site for future studies.
If you can, I’d love to hear a video where you give more time to actually demonstrating these techniques, as well as the technical breakdown that you’ve concentrated on in this video.
Thanks so much !!!
Allen
Glad it's of help, my friend! This technique is so important, I will be coming back to it for sure.
Thank you for your simple way of teaching jazz! From SA!
Glad it was helpful!
I celebrate each of your lessons. Amazing concept Sandra. I'm try it as sob as I'm home.
Wonderful!
A very good lesson for people likes jazz.Gratulation!
Thank you!
Thank you so much Sandra, this is hugely helpful! I never really understood the pivot arpeggio concept. I've come across it in several other videos by other good teachers but for some reason, it didn't click until following your exercises here. I'll be working on these exercises for a while, there's many days of practice required to get these under my fingers and into my ears.
Make sure to know the basic arpeggios, before pivoting them.
I ike the bluesy Lick, thanks for the tutorial 🎸👍🏻
Thanks 😊
I LOVE the video you did where you show 2 licks you can play over each section of a Jazz-Blues...
I wonder if you would consider doing a similar guide on 'Jazz Lines over every Chord / Progression'. I'd love to see a video where you give maybe 2 or 3 examples of a standard/typical Jazz line that you could play over each chord type - Dom, Minor7, Major7, m7b5 etc. Or Maybe the Roman Numeral might be better "Line over the I Maj7 or the IV Major 7 or the Dom II chord' ? Obviously you'd have to limit it somewhere.
And then section 2 of the video could be Typical Jazz lines that work over the most common chord progressions: Major ii-V-I, Minor ii-V-I, Rhythm Changes etc. Might be asking a bit much, but I think a lot of people (me included) would find it useful to have a set of lines to start to use over every chord/progression in a Standard, which can then be adapted / manipulated. At the very least it would get me on the right road with having the music/tab to learn from.
Thanks for yojr great feedback! Have you ever checked out my "2 Scales are All You Need" video? It covers the first part of your request.

Great info. Thanks Sandra. And I really like the new format. I always enjoyed your posts but I gotta admit, the "greetings" thing at the start was a bit goofy. This format is really good and you always have great info. Thanks. Be well.
❤❤❤❤❤
Hey is that an official Guitar Versum T shirt you’re wearing? Is that an item that’s available for sale? I’m a fan of your lessons and teaching method. Keep up the great work Sandra.
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I don't sell these T-Shirts. I
My Dad had it made for my RUclips lessons. 😊

Some people say play a scale tone above and a half tone below, like you, but I also see some say to play a half tone on both ends. Any reason for that? Are both correct?
Sure, that's also possible, but it sounds more off with two chromatics.
