Hey Jason, how about this Deal & this Brand?? Any info/comment whether or not It's Worth Buying: AZZA PSAZ-850G ATX 3.0 850 W ATX / ATX (ATX 3.0 Compatible) 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply. Price: $99.99 $69.99 after $30.00 rebate. I'm currently running the 550 Watt Model in my 2nd PC, for over 1 year without any Issues.

Thanks for the content, too, watched and learned a lot from you in the run-up to building the PC and have been hooked on PC hardware content since

amazing video Jason thanks a lot for information. I am still scared to get a new psu just because I might mess up which cable goes where xD Even though I know by watching multiple videos, still not confident enough to try :)

you dont really need the atx 3.0 pcie5 ones if you already have an a-tier psu with enough wattage. especially with a lower power amd setup like that. if you are building a new system with mid to high end rtx 4000 cards then i would try and get a atx3/pcie5 unit.
As I understood the Cultist list, the difference between A-tir and B-tir is that A-tir has thermal protection. And that's why power supplies are 50 euros more expensive in the A tier. I bought a really well tested and reviewed PSU. It was one of the best rated 1200w ATX 3.0 PSU’s on the PSU Cultist List. Unfortunately, the cables are terrible. They have really hard plastic sleeves that run almost right up to the connectors. I almost all the cables are way longer than they need to be, with tons of redundant leads. I basically had to throw cable management out the window and just shove cables in any nook and cranny I could find. If I had it to do over again, I’d buy a Seasonic/Phanteks, Corsair, Asus or EVGA. These are the only makers that seem to have readily available aftermarket cable replacements. Otherwise you’ll have to custom order or fab your own if the cable included don’t fit your case or fail.
@@alexb.1320 Even on a larger case a lot of these issues would remain. For example, all the connectors are right up against a very stiff vinyl sleeve that is almost 3” long. So all the returns have to protrude out about 4-5” before routing to the back of the case. If you used extensions you’d probably have an unruly amount of cable length behind the case. It’s honestly kind of shocking that the designers clearly never tried to build a PC with the provided cable before signing off on the design, the cables are objectively a poor design. The crazy thing is that everybody just accepts the lie that PSU makers won’t adopt a cable standard to “protect consumers from damaging their components”. It’s really just engineered obsolescence. If a cable fails or gets lost, then you need a whole new PSU. There’s already a standard for the component side. No reason not to do the same on the PSU side. Right now, expensive bespoke cables from Cable Mod are the only option besides the DIY route.

Thank you for letting me know about this one. I hadn't seen the reviews on it and it seems they copied Thermaltake's design but also improved it and made it cheaper. A little noisy under heavy load but otherwise very recommendable unit.
@PCBuilderChannel it has a quiet mode mine is supper quiet but I also not running heavy system just bought it for the price at the time compared to 750w for 30 more why not the 1000w
I would also recommend looking at reviews at hardware busters for power supplys. This guy used to do the power supply reviews for tech power up. He is held in high regard in the tech community.
You make a lot of great videos. But this one really educates people who do not know. And this is one of the most if not the most important part to a pc. Thank you Jason again for these.
The MSI MAG A750GL is not on the PSU cultist tier list like stated in the video. The one that is in the speculative section of Tier A is the MSI MPG A-G series.
Maan, I'm planning to buy 80 gold PSU, but the question is can I use additional stabilizer again? Someone said do not use additional stabilizer for the full range PSU because it can destroy the PSU/ stabilizer itself because it will be a double AVR/ Stabilizer, AVR/stabilizer from the PSU and stabilizer it self. Thanks man. Great video anyway.
So what shall I buy for the Pro Art z790, i9 14900k, pro art 4080 super? Getting tired of all these new bullshit standarts, to be honest. Would have gone for a corsair hx1200i, because I want a silent supply where the radiatior ist not going all the time, but Ive heard its missing some of the current cables...
There are Thermaltake, corsair, deepcool, phanteks, asus, gigabyte, msi, super flower, cooler master, silverstone, antec, seasonic. They all have white power supplies.
I also wonder why no Seasonic PSU on your recommendation. The latest Seasonic Focus GX ATX3.0/PCI-E 5.0 and vertex comes with individually sleeved cables ssving money from buyin cable extension for the looks and comes with a 10 yr warranty. I think Corsair RMe models doesn't use Japanese capacitors, would this be a deciding factor over other PSU that uses one?
Ty jason for the vids! I come back to your older guides so I could remember some of the knowledge you share. Now I could come back to this one for PSUs. Thanks so much
Jason, going along with a video 5 days ago and a question about cleaning your PC; My area is very dry, so we use humidifiers inside the house. These are the ultrasonic humidifiers and as a result of the hard water in the area, they leave a residue of calcium and magnesium all over the house and in my PC. Do you know of or have any concerns about this kind of build up of minerals being any worse than regular dust for a PC?
I got an hx1000i and regret not getting a super flower, woulda been much cheaper but i just went with the “safe” pick since its my first high end pc. Either way should be fine for a 7800x3d and 4080 super *knock on wood*
Yeah I don’t use the 80 plus rating anymore either. Instead I use the PSU cultist list and the Cybernetics PSU rating system. Cybernetics does more testing on the PSU and they use validated electrical engineers to rate them by efficiency based on either the 115 or 230 volt system and noise level. For example the Corsair RM750e ATX 3.0 at 115 volt received the Cybernetics Platinum rating and A - for noise level. At 230 volts it received the Cybernetics Gold rating and A - for noise level
You can pretty much have one answer: buy a seasonic of the right size. It may cost more, but a good PSU will last you through several MB/Videocards/CPUs. A bad PSU will risk killing them. You are better getting a GOOD PSU and spending money on it because it is one component that longterm can pay for itself. A good PSU, a good case? You can reuse for a LONG time.
Hey dude if you could help me out really quick, do I buy the Seasonic Focus V3 GX-850 or the MSI MAG A850GL PCIE 5. Just your personal opinion I can’t decide myself
Love my corsair rm850e. People will tell scary stories about a noisy fan. I game for hours in silence. I have the rm850x too. only difference is a bigger fan and japanese caps and no 12vhpwr type 4 cable for my gpu. I havent noticed any performance issues from the more compact design of the E series and it included the cable my gpu needed.
I have ordered the corsair rm850x too with my rtx 4080 super ryzen 7 build, can you tell me if the rm850x is loud or has any other issues if any youve experienced?
Good video as always. The ADATA XPG Core Reactor II 850W and 1000W GPUs also seems like really good options due to their $99 and $129 Prices and 10 Year Warranties.
Does anyone know anything about Redragon psus? On the tier list it’s just marked as E tier- avoid, which I know usually means there just isn’t enough info or reviews to rate it and they expect it to be mid. Amazon has like a thousand reviews and hardly any issues and it’s 90$ for 850 watts so it’s really hard to not buy it any thoughts
I would say no because the NZXT C850 (2022) is currently $100 and the SeaSonic FOCUS GX-850 ATX 3.0 is currently $110 so both aren't a ton more than that Redragon
@@kelley09162 I’m just wondering like how likely is it that I’ll actually have any issues yk. I guess since it’s literally 10 bucks I should probably just cop a nicer one💀💀
BTW, I recently did a build with a 750w Enermax Revolution DF2 that' runs the ATI 7800 series gpu and the AMD 78003XD cpu. It runs everything great. I honestly don't notice any quality difference between the Revolution DF and the DF2.

Help me to choose between them. Getting as replacement of V850 Gold V2 from a seller who have only those options available right now; DQ850M-V3L Antec 850 GM MWE Gold 850 V2
The Deepcool DQ850M-V3L is a newer unit that is currently listed speculatively on the b Tier. The Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 is a B-Tier unit. The Antec one I believe is the Neo Eco Gold (should be semi-modular and have a yellow label) which is B-Tier rated unit, however without more info I can't confirm as Antec does have similarly named units. I've used that exact Cooler Master unit and it was very good and ran silent.
Hearing complaints over the labels on PSU's make me disregard all of this. stickers on the PSU does nothing to improve things. What they should include are the power ratings and the color descriptions for the power cables. And yes I don't like PSU's with single color cables. The colors have a meaning, They tell what cables are carrying +5V, -5V, +12V, Gnd, PWR Good or standby power. They have a meaning. The all black, white or zebra striped cables doesn't tell you a thing about what voltages they carry or what use they have. "But they look nice!" Sorry but I don't care. As for quality PSU's... Yes there are some brands that sell better quality PSU's. But they are usually a lot more expensive than you expect. And yes, compared to a quality PSU from say Zippy will make top of the line Corsair or Seagate look cheap. Now I don't suggest you use a EMACS ZIPPY PSU in a desktop. The sound of the fans in it will probably drive you crazy. Now there are other quality PSU manufacturers that you probably never will see in any computer store. They may not be "cool" but they are very solid. A lot of the big manufacturers use PSU's from manufacturers like Liteon and Delta and while they might look cheap they are extremely reliable. These big manufacturers won't take chances on something as simple as a PSU so anything they use will be very reliable. Yet there is little risk you will see them on the PSU Cultists Tier List.
When I bought my 7900xtx nitro+ I wasnt sure if my Seasonic 850W PSU would fit because it only had 2 8-pin GPU power connectors with a 6+2- pin connector attached to each 8 pin cable, so the 3 8-pin slots were powered by basically 2 cables only. I contacted Seasonic and they recommended to get a unit with 3 8-pin connectors. I still took a shot (trusting Seasonics quality) and my pc shut down the moment I loaded up Cyberpunk 2077 :) . For the time being I undervolted the 7900xtx just so I could use my PSU and I ordered a new unit (power cables ran fairly warm, so this is not recommended!, but I have excellent air flow in my Fractal torrent). This time it was the Corsair RM1000x with 3 seperate 8-pin cables and it works totally fine. I heard the X- version has no fan issues so I went for that one instead of the E- version. And my unit is silent and works perfectly even on the highest power draws I can pull off. Always invest in a good and proper PSU. Id even say the PSU is the most important PC part.
Yes! Lots more good PSUs out there, this is just a list of the most competitive priced ones at the US market at time of filming. But I'll keep the links in the description updated as prices change
ignoring efficiency will make you pay more for the heat. oversizing PSU also will make you pay more for the heat. Especially with more powerhungry pcs like we got today.

Great Video Jason it's been awhile since I built a PC but with your vids I am getting back up to speed. I am not sure what cpu/gpu cpu/gpu but thx to your videos I am getting back up to speed. I am leaning hard towards AMD for both. Thank you for all you and Sarah do and the kitties!
I bought my PSU prior to watching this video and went for a 1000 W unit when PC Part Picker estimated 746 W. I saw you said multiply by 1.5 which would've put me at 1200 W. Is that a big enough of discrepancy to return the PSU and go for a higher wattage? (building my first PC)
Depends on how much more a 1200W PSU is vs what you paid for that 1000W. If it's not a big difference I'd say do it to be safe but if it is you're probably fine.
I dont understand how people who know about the tier list and still buy the e or below 😅😅😅. In my country Thailand all pre builts used e and below such as the Antec Atom lame psu 😅😅😅
You completely threw the FSP Hydro Ti Pro under the bus, and it stomps almost everything in this video. It was also on the Cultist list prior to this video.

Hey, where would the new NZXT C850 Gold ATX 3.1 850 Watt 80 PLUS Gold Fully Modular ATX 3.1 PSU sit on this list? I'm not sure which tier would it be considered and if it would be good for a build with the ryzen 7 7800X3D and the 4070 Ti super, thanks~
I need help my friend's dad that is going to help me build my pc tells me to go ahead and get a 1000w so I have enough for different parts I might want to change in the future what should I do I'm building a Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU (Already bought) Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler Gigabyte B650 AORUS PRO AX Motherboard (Already bought) G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB M.2 NVME Drive (Already bought) Gigabyte GAMING OC Radeon RX 7800 XT 16 GB GPU Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact Lite CASE (Already bought) Corsair RM1000e (2023) 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified PSU Should I get another 2 tb nvme stick aswell?
So I would go up in GPU to the 7900GRE if you can. Maybe going with the Thermalright Phantom Spirit Cooler will save you the money to do that. Also if you're in the US there are better 1000W PSU options for the price.

Solid choice. I second the montech titan gold 1000w. Great value at its current price! Thermaltake and MSI units are slightly louder.
That one is an extremely good value. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.
I was literally looking at a new psu last night and then wake up to see this video, great timing
Love it when we get the timing right!
Is a 750 watt PSU enough to handle a PC configuration featuring an RTX 3080 Ti graphics card and a Ryzen 5 7600 processor?
You'll want to follow the method in the video here to check what you need for your full build
You read my mind brother. I was just wondering if you were going to do a 2024 PSU video. Thank you.
We got you!! Hope you are having a great weekend Savage!
what is the difference between MSI Mag G and GL?
I would also recommend looking at reviews at hardware busters for power supplys. This guy used to do the power supply reviews for tech power up. He is held in high regard in the tech community.
Good tip!
You make a lot of great videos. But this one really educates people who do not know. And this is one of the most if not the most important part to a pc. Thank you Jason again for these.
So glad they are helpful! Thanks for the feedback it means a lot
The MSI MAG A750GL is not on the PSU cultist tier list like stated in the video. The one that is in the speculative section of Tier A is the MSI MPG A-G series.
This is what I'm wondering about. He says he recommends this one but I'm looking at either this or the Corsair RM850x.
now Im wondering which to get again lol
Msi Mpg or corsisr rm850 @@300rik
@@Thehobbyeast got the msi mag850
Is the evga supernova 850g xc good just bought it
Maan, I'm planning to buy 80 gold PSU, but the question is can I use additional stabilizer again? Someone said do not use additional stabilizer for the full range PSU because it can destroy the PSU/ stabilizer itself because it will be a double AVR/ Stabilizer, AVR/stabilizer from the PSU and stabilizer it self. Thanks man. Great video anyway.
Unfortunately, no one is keeping up with the list so it is outdated.
If in the US the SeaSonic VERTEX GX-1200 is a good choice. I've heard good things about SeaSonic PSUs.
which is better fsp vita gm 750w, 1player ngdp 700w, and coolermaster v850 ???

Any white psu recommendation?
(1000w mAtx or itx)
Seasonic makes a lot of good ones! They just aren't priced as competitively as the ones in this video in the US market at the time of filming.
Why should you multiply the wattage that pc part picker gives you. You didn’t give a reason to do so
Transient power spikes, we definitely cover that in the video (;
The problem with PSU tier list = it's heavily biased towards north american markets.
The MSI MPG A1000G is really good. Got this over a Corsair unit and very happy with it
Ty jason for the vids! I come back to your older guides so I could remember some of the knowledge you share. Now I could come back to this one for PSUs. Thanks so much
So glad they are helpful!! Thanks for letting me know it means a lot
Definitely sympathetic to those on a tight budget, but of all the components I'd probably recommend spending the extra $30 here to get an A tier PSU.
That is a very good question. I would guess that it can be a problem but look up information on youtube etc. to find out.
I don't know about this personally sorry! Interesting question. Let me know if you find out!
I got an hx1000i and regret not getting a super flower, woulda been much cheaper but i just went with the “safe” pick since its my first high end pc. Either way should be fine for a 7800x3d and 4080 super *knock on wood*
That is a nice high end build.
@@ghollz8488 Maybe others are different, but I gave up on the MSI PSUs, we had a run of a few that did not work correctly. But YMMV
@@ghollz8488 We have had good luck with the Asus and Lian Li so far, though.
I got an msi mpg a1000g pcie5
What about UPS? Please make a video about the best UPS to protect my PC from power cuts and surges.
Thanks for sharing!
My PSU is an Antec Titanium 1000w (Seasonic), been using Seasonic for years, but got a special deal on the Antec..
Never cheap out on your PSU..
Glad I went with an XPG Core Reactor 750. It's presently overkill for my hardware but I trust it'll give me peace of mind for the next 8-10 years.
A graded Thermaltake fixed all problems in my monsterbuild
What are your specs in your build?
The Seasonic VERTEX PX series was my PSU of choice on my recent 2024 build. Top notch, Tier-A rated PSU.
Good video as always.
The ADATA XPG Core Reactor II 850W and 1000W GPUs also seems like really good options due to their $99 and $129 Prices and 10 Year Warranties.
Pretty much mine got 850 and i feel like i can move anything with that.
Thanks Ty!
@@kelley09162 So I should probably just go with one of those then to be safe is what ur saying
@@kelley09162 I’m just wondering like how likely is it that I’ll actually have any issues yk. I guess since it’s literally 10 bucks I should probably just cop a nicer one💀💀
@@owencalder5235 yes that's what I'm saying and yea I have no idea if you'd have any issues with the Redragon but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
BTW, I recently did a build with a 750w Enermax Revolution DF2 that' runs the ATI 7800 series gpu and the AMD 78003XD cpu. It runs everything great. I honestly don't notice any quality difference between the Revolution DF and the DF2.
How about the Coolermaster MWE 650 V2 Bronze is it a good psu for builds around 900 USD
Check the list, but I believe it is C Tier so that is fine.
@@PCBuilderChannel it is mentioned as tier b psu in tier list
Then it is b-tier!
I purchased a Thermaltake 700W PSU. In one group I belong to, I saw a guy who had melted cables from the cheaper PSU. I returned the PSU needless to say.
PSU is one component I don't mess around with for precisely this reason
Is it true that be quiet dark power 13 and 12 have noise problems?
I just replaced my 7 month old prebuilt PC’s junk ass apevia 1000W prestige non modular PSU with a Corsair white RM850 fully modular PSU cause the apevia was doing something weird with my GPU and making my PC black screen say no DP connection. Don't know if you'll still reply. But I am really thinking of getting the DeepCool PN850M PSU. Do you have any information about this unit?
Help me to choose between them. Getting as replacement of V850 Gold V2 from a seller who have only those options available right now;
DQ850M-V3L
Antec 850 GM
MWE Gold 850 V2
The Deepcool DQ850M-V3L is a newer unit that is currently listed speculatively on the b Tier. The Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 is a B-Tier unit. The Antec one I believe is the Neo Eco Gold (should be semi-modular and have a yellow label) which is B-Tier rated unit, however without more info I can't confirm as Antec does have similarly named units. I've used that exact Cooler Master unit and it was very good and ran silent.
I am thinking about the deepcool one but he also told me if i wait for 10-15 more days he will provide RM850X
Will the wait be worth it?
So basically you're running a 1000w psu?
Recommend seasonic gx series for people quality PSU
montech titan gold
deepcool pxg

Seasonic,
FSP Fortron Hydro
Chieftec

Is it okay getting the white MSI MAG 850GL? Great video 👍
I dont understand how people who know about the tier list and still buy the e or below 😅😅😅. In my country Thailand all pre builts used e and below such as the Antec Atom lame psu 😅😅😅
